War is a Dying Art

Lan Raegin stood over the corpse of a dying Sith Trooper, a scowl on his fuzzy little face and a blaster rifle in his hand. Death gurgles escaped the mouth of the Sith Trooper and Lan simply stood and stared at the man. He checked the charge on his power pack, seeing that it was nearly full. Slowly the Selonian crouched down to the soldiers face, getting within an inch of his ear before whispering.

“Should have picked the winning side.” Then Lan stood from the corpse and stepped over it, leaving the dying man to his painful death.

The Selonian walked onward, in the distance one could hear blaster fire ring out over and over again, the sound of explosions and death could also be heard, though the young Commander didn't care much. They were here on some backwater moon near Sith Space mopping up a small garrison of Sith Troopers, an assignment that was for Havoc considered a “Break” from their usual activities.

Of course once they had arrived Lan and his team had quickly discovered that the innocuous little Sith Garrison hadn't been so innocent after all. Upon touch down Havoc had found a village near the garrison completely burnt to the ground, corpses littering the place, women and children locked into houses and burned to the ground. It had been a horrible sight, and One Lan had not been keen on seeing when he first arrived. Now of course Havoc was taking vengeance, piece by piece it would take a chunk out of the Sith troopers here, and whoever else they found.

He was sure that the Sith weren't the only ones responsible. Criminals, smugglers, bounty hunters, other scum lurked here and he would see them all dead.

Penumbra heard the sounds of battle from overhead, but did not slow his own progress. Rose Whip, his beautiful Amphistaff, in hand he was moving slowly room to room in one of the many underground barracks of the garrison he currently was in. Slaying any and all he found, he held no prejudice nor mercy.

A rather adequate sized man, clad in his own makeshift Mandalorian style armor, charged the Supreme Lord of Val'halla. If he was forced to guess, the suit was a Durasteel-Laminanium alloy, and this was something he was beyond heavenly at knowing. It was a life long skill he honed, metallurgy. The suit would be able to repair itself if heated to a great enough extent, a beyond great asset in battle.

Dropping quickly under the man's blow, he smiled behind his mask as the eyes grew wide, for now without his armored body and with his Czar augments he was faster then any human. His Amphistaff responded quickly to a tickle under her chin, becoming a long thin sword that he swung and used to take out the man's knees. Not being crafted out of plasma, the weapon he wielded went clear threw the leg bracers with little to no troubles. Instantly the large man's body shifted as the legs were now nubs where calves used to be.

As the man cried out in pure blood curdling agony, Zaiden drew back and swung Rose swiftly in three swift arcs. The lag time was incredible, for nearly 7 seconds the man choked and groaned, air hissing from his lungs. Then his body crumpled, falling apart first down the middle with a bright crimson spray of blood, then both arms at the shoulders as well. Lastly, before the body could finish falling to the ground, he used his pet to spear the man's heart as it fell from the still living body.

Holding the now dead heart close to the left half of the man's skull he dropped to his haunches and smiled behind his mask, "Never challenge a High Lord. Especially the Supreme Lord of Darkness." He said, his voice gravelly and dripping acid. With that he rose and continued his rampage.

Let's go back up above to another demented creature enjoying slaughter on this little moon.

Well well, if it isn't Steph Zenima. Miss Cranial Impact 837 ABY, she had a sash and everything. Okay, that was a blatant lie. There was no sa-

CRACK!

The impact of a sledgehammer cracking open a Sith Trooper's helmet rang so loud that it even interrupted the narration. During the ensuing chaos he had become separated from his garrison and like a predator she pounced. It was a pity really, this anonymous face, this Sith Trooper was an amazing shot, certainly in some top percentage. What he was doing in this little garrison was unknown but it was definitely beneath him.

“AHAHAHAHAHA!”

The first blow had rocked him, definitely concussed him but he had survived. Knocked to the ground, fragments of his helmet scattered around him. He crawled backwards. His sidearm. Where was his side arm. Dazed fingers grasped desperately.

“P-please! N-n-n-no!”

Trying to buy time. He wormed backwards, dragging himself across the ground. He'd shoot her if he could get his hands on his damned pistol. Obviously he didn't excel in quick draw. Or maybe it was terror.

The sledgehammer was raised high.

A grin full of rotted teeth spread slowly, and with malice. This trooper was well and truly duffed. She wasn't doing it to avenge the village, for justice, or even for glory. Steph was going to do it because she took pleasure from it, because these were her rocks and this was how they got off. Violence is God.

She brought the hammer down, a short scream rang pierced through the sound of blaster fire in the air and then it stopped. A wet thud. Just another forgotten face.

The Sith soldier struggled for a while, Tracyn pressing his own knife down on him. He was strong, and had leverage on his side. He had brought him to his knees, but the soldier was now simply using physics to prevent Tracyn from pressing the knife down into his throat. Tracyn was standing amongst a horde of dead bodies, slain by him personally. He was an impressive combatant, that was for sure. He was deadly, proficient, even if he hadn't even activated his lightsaber. Crushgaunts and bone-breaking hand to hand skills made him so effective that he didn't need to. Bringing his knee upwards to the Sith's face, he went under the guard that was preventing him from slicing him apart, and felt the bones shatter in his face under his armored knee. The sickening feeling of crushing bones made Tracyn wince, if only for a second. The Sith trooper howled in pain, before Tracyn wrapped his hands around his face, and gave it a good twist. He dropped him to the ground. He didn't want to stab him, dead blades (non-lightsaber bladed weaponry) made him nearly sick to his stomach every time he used them, and the man had put up a good fight. He deserved a quick death, at least. Tracyn glanced around, and sighed. Being so good at...what he did, he was advised to accompany Havoc as a sort of adviser to the moon. When it hit the fan, Tracyn picked up the fan and threw it back at it, and to great effect. He wondered what he would still be like if he had stayed a Mandalorian...but nevertheless, the here and now is what mattered.

Tracyn heard a sickening crunch of a hammer, and felt the waves of fear from a helpless and wounded soul, followed by release of life from the vessel. He scowled, and then took the lightsaber hilt into his life-ending hands. He only had to walk so far, his stride was massive, because, well, he was a big man. Tracyn saw Steph, in cold-blooded, sadistic way, end the life of the trooper. Tracyn walked forward, towering over the little lady. He was a scary man, his Ori'ramikade1 armor making him scarier all the more still. He didn't wear the helmet much, it wasn't really needed. Shoving her by the chest, he stared down the junkie with a hammer. It took a lot not to punch her in the face right then and there."What makes you so different from them? What makes you better than the Sith?"He inquired, a bit roughly. A lot scarily too.

Though, he was probably also talking to a girl who might have thought he was an actual demon, or maybe a cute bunny rabbit. Depended on what she took this morning.

Zenima naturally didn't take kindly to being shoved.

“Ah dinnae claim t'be different, MATE,” she half drawled, half yelled. She wasn't exactly the best person to take on a moral field trip. In fact, compared to the ordinary Sith Trooper this woman was probably worse. The moment on Manaan when she used an orphan to shield herself from attack was the moment where you could one hundred percent say that she was a bad egg. There had been no regret, no second thought. Guilt was never her strong point.

Although the five foot two woman really needed to stop angering people that towered above her so. It was getting annoying having to leap all the the time.

“Div ye nae 'hink it's great?!” she enquired, bearing those space-meth rotted teeth one more, “Frakkin' geeing 'em a poundin'. HEARIN' EH BONES BRAK, EH!? Div ye nae jist LOVE IT?!”

To punctuated her question she attempted to headbutt the man in the armoured chest, because she was Steph Zenima, of course.

Room after room, spaces he would never return to whence the inhabitants were all dead, they were receiving free color changes - the default being red of course. He left bodies crumpled on the ground in pieces, others simply stood thanks to the lag and he didn't stop to count the time as it passed. Nearly 100 dead in a matter of a half an hour, and it probably could have been twice as fast if he wanted, but he simply felt giving the individual the proper attention they deserved more important. A huge bedroom, probably a generals or something, held three opponents all within, guns aimed for the door.

Tossing up a half assed Force Cloak, Zaiden relished the feeling of invisibility for a moment. Then slowly opened the door, to his amusement he watched the men question their own vision for before then was an empty doorway. Moving quickly, Zaiden dashed past the left man, dragging Rose through his abdomen. Then as he moved onto the next he leapt over the first, spearing the man in the skull with the Amphistaff. As he touched down next to the man on the right, he tugged his weapon free - grey matter sticking to his pets tail - and spun swiftly to swing another arc through this man vertically down the middle.

Lan walked through the ruin of the Sith Base with a bloody scowl on his face. He was nearly covered in head to toe with red speckles, but he no longer cared about that. For him this had now become personal, the death of all those people, the mindless wanton slaughter of Innocents. It was something that he could not forgive, it was something that he simply could not regret. He stepped with heavy feet, walking over another corpse.

A Sith soldier ran at him with a vibrosword, screaming loudly.

The Selonian raised his blaster, and fired once. The Soldier dropped to the ground almost instantly, dead. Lan kept walking without a second thought. He didn't need to spare the Sith any time, he just needed to get through this base.

Havoc had killed many men today, and they would kill more.

Her head just bounced off of the strongest armor in the galaxy, and then a hand shot up to her gut, clenched in a mighty fist."You're a pathetic excuse for a soldier, and an even worse to the Republic."Presumably, the punch would probably keel over the small woman, and maybe even cause some internal bleeding. Tracyn pivoted on his heel, and came to the side of Steph, an in an expert move, brought the back of his shin on her leg, and used it as a fulcrum to attempt to throw her to the ground, the small weight playing into the fact that he could literally throw her around like a ragdoll.

He was faster, that was for sure. And better trained. And better at what he did. However, this woman, was nothing sort of a menace."LOOK AT THEM! LOOK AT YOU! YOU ARE STANDING ON THE BODIES OF INNOCENTS, AND YOU'RE LAUGHING ABOUT IT!"His teeth were beginning to grind, he was close to simply ending her himself. It would be fairly easy, after all, Tracyn could dent armor with punches, and breaking skulls in half was an even easier skill to do, truth be told.

Her head seemed to be spending a lot of time bouncing off armour yet. It can't be doing that already rattled brain any good.

The galaxy's least likeable woman got hit by a freight train of a fist, instantly doubling over. It was a miracle that her organs hadn't shut down, if not from physical trauma, then from the slow whittling edge of substance abuse. How Steph even managed to wake up every day, let alone stand might have been some kind of miracle. Or perhaps behind that frail frame lay the very picture of durability.

Of course we can add the title of poster girl of internal bleeding to that resume now.

Now she was on the floor, he really had a point to get across, didn't he? A tragedy then, the point would sail over her head by miles. One of Nar Shaddaa's many disasters. Behind the veil of poverty children are born. To grow up hungry, addicted, illiterate with no basic concept of morality to guide them into knowing what was right or wrong. You either survived, or you didn't, and against the odds Steph made it, even if her end result was sub-human.

The woman lay on her back, stomach protesting mightily that there was some serious damage. Her cure naturally came in a pill today. Pyrepenol. It was fast becoming her favourite addiction, simply for that sense or invulnerability. Two. Three. He'd really done a number on her gut. Make it four.

So that was it, as he asked her to look at the bodies of the fallen Zenima instead took drugs, what a reasonable woman she was. “AH DON'T CARE, PAL.”

THE MOST REASONABLE OF ALL, ONE MIGHT SAY.

Tracyn had to resist, very, hard to kill her. He dropped down beside her, and then laid his knee across her chest, restricting her breathing to what he would allow."I've never seen a despicable sight such as you. I'm going to give you one of two options. You either get help, get clean, or I will personally hand you your head on a silver platter to a prison that I'm more than familiar with. Care now?"He growled, pressing down on her chest, emphasizing his point.

It was true, Tracyn, at one point, spent an undisclosed amount of time in a prison that he, even today, refused to talk about.

This was a galaxy that evidently really wanted Steph Zenima to get off the drugs.

A normal person would have agreed to his terms to get clean, or even would have just lied to get that pressure off of their chest, to get away from this man who was clearly a little unhinged for Jedi standards. Not Steph. Not this woman. Fear was an abstract concept for her, lying even more so. They just weren't compatible with the short shouting creature.

For a moment she just stared back at the Jedi, drawing up wheezing breaths, bloodshot eyes staring he who would oppose her fun right in the face.

Then came the teeth. Those teeth. Something to make a dentist cry, beyond yellowing now, some of them were actually more black in colour. Many were chipped. Some were missing. They were like decaying icebergs jutting out of what was a sea of bloodied gums. When the short woman smiled she was truly disgusting.

Which makes it all the worse that her response to the Jedi, was to spit in his face. Get clean? Prison? No bloody thank you.

“NE...VER.”

Lan Raegin moved through the base quickly and efficiently. It was easy work for him, it was butchers work. Other members of Havoc followed his lead as they moved through the base, they shot Sith troopers on sight. A few times before they could even say anything. It was no longer a war, it was payback, payback for the innocents that had been slaughtered, payback for the people that had been killed for no reason.

The Selonians fuzzy little face was as grim as could be, his eyes seemingly dead to the world.

A few times he heard a Sith beg for mercy, his ears ringing and his mind dazzed however could not hear the pleas. He shot Sith whenever they were found, men or women, it no longer mattered to him. They had committed a massacre, and Lan would return the favor.

Brenna's drop pod had been thrown way off course. She was almost 10 klicks off when she landed. She made made her approach to the Sith base carefully. She had no doubt that the rest of Havoc would sweep through the small force here, but she had learned that it never hurt to be cautious.

She stepped carefully through a crater in the bases wall and rolled behind a chunk of debris. She released the magnetic seal on the back of her armor and brought her blaster rifle into her hands. Her trigger finger twitched in anticipation of her first shot. She peeked over cover and spotted a Imp leaning against the far wall for cover. Easy pickings. She squeezed the trigger, and the soldier fell slack to the ground. When she'd signed up at the academy, she hadn't expected to be doing this kinda stuff. She had gotten used to killing, but she found no pleasure in it. It was just her job, as simple as that.

She stood up and moved against the far wall heading through a doorway into a trampled courtyard. Brenna found another Imp with his back to her. Her vibro-knife came out of it's sheath but stayed off. The vibration from the blade would alert him to her presence. She shoved the blade into the opening in his left armpit. He screamed as she activated the vibration, drilling the knife deeper into his body and causing blood to pour out his wound. She drew the vibroknife out and continued on through the base. She turned a corner and came face to face with @[member="Lan Raegin"].

She didn't flinch at the sudden appearance of her commanding officer. She had expected him to be somewhere near. "Sir, sorry I'm late." She said lowering her blaster.

There was a lot of shoving in the next few seconds. Doc sprinted out of the woodwork, shoving Tracyn away. The big armored brute nearly made the young Medic piss his pants, but he put on a brave face...behind his helmet. So he was just kinda staring at the big Jedi, before the Jedi lumbered away to go carve more Sith like butter. Doc knelt beside Steph, cradling her head, and staring at her for a while. All joking aside, the habit was now out of control and he had to deal with it here and now. The Jedi almost killed her, and in all honesty, wouldn't have been terribly wrong to do so. She was nearly dead, and almost needed the drugs to stay alive at this point.

"Steph. You need to get help."Doc said, removing his pistol, and casually firing at an approaching Sith trooper. He was getting good at the war thing, you know?

Lan lowered his weapon, checking to make sure it did not discharge as Brenna rounded the corner. There was a frown on his face. She was new to all this, new to Havoc, new to the butchery of war. He frowned slightly at her approach.

“Its fine kid.” Lan answered her with his scowl quite apparent. He obviously did not like doing this, but there seemed to be something...twisted inside of him, something made him no longer care, made him nearly dead inside. Slowly the Otter surveyed the ground around them, the dead Sith, the troopers who had their skulls smashed in, the blood and the gore.

Then he looked to the face of the young girl, or at least her helmet. “You don't have to be here. This isn't duty. It's vengeance.”

He spoke to her in a hushed tone, one of complete sadness. He knew what he was doing, he just didn't care anymore.
@[member="Brenna Kardur"]

"Today, vengeance is my duty. And someone has to watch your back." She moved across the room and checked out one of the doors. All clear. "It seems to have turned into every Sith for himself. All we have to do is clean out the nooks and crannies." She looked back. "I'm going to set up a perimeter. Comm me when we're ready to pull out."

She slinked out of the base and hid behind some rubble. She wasn't one to run in guns blazing. She liked to bide her time and wait for the right moment to strike. She checked to see if the way was clear, waited, double checked, then headed to one of the piles of rubble that had once been home to a local family. Two corpses were lying in the doorway. She quietly stepped over them and looked inside. Two Imps were hunkered inside. A laser went into the chest of one while Brenna stepped up to the other and brought her right fist into the side of his head.

Her armors shock absorbers took most of the blow, and she brought her foot down forcefully onto his helmet while he was down. She heard the distinct sound of his vertebrae snapping and watched his body stop struggling and go limp. She felt nothing.

She looked out over the side of the houses crumbling wall and spotted a group of more Sith soldiers moving up from the south. They were out in the open. Big mistake. Brenna popped a fragmentation grenade from her belt and gave it a squeeze, activating the detonation timer. She'd practiced her aim in hundreds of training sims, and she hit her mark landing the grenade right at their feet. They panicked and tried to scramble away. Too late. Two of them were vaporized instantly and another quickly bled out. The explosion sent a message out to the surrounding Imperial stragglers. The end was nigh.

Where Penumbra went his children followed, soaring in the air above head was a transport with two people in the loading bay. Martin, lucky number seven. He watched the scene of death and destruction bellow and stared at it with a blank face. He had been around death before plenty of times, recently the czars from project pantheon had been dispatched to different sections of the galaxy to help with the war. Rolland, Xavier, and Northstar on Kifu helping the fringe. And daisy and himself to aid havoc in whatever they needed. It was almost an honor to watch them work, through them they were born. Through the Jedi, the sith, all walks of life and the force the Czars were created.

"Havoc these are Czars Seven and Six Radio check Over." he said looking down from above. This wasn't battle, this was a slaughter. People were dead, innocent people were dead and there was nothing anyone could do about it. Grabbing his gear Martin sighed and picked up his IAS rifle, scatter gun and pistol they had to get in there and mop up any resistance. "Daisy, let's go." he said looking back to her. This wasn't what he had in mind when he signed up but there was nothing he could do now. The transport touched down and Martin stepped onto the ground. He wasn't a fan of slaughters but he would do what he had to to get home to his family. @[member="Doc"] @[member="Lan Raegin"] @Breena Kardur

Daisy stood in the transport, Zealot compact sniper rifle in hand with her cerimonial katana and heavy pistol by her side and mounted to the back of her armor. She watched Tracyn destroy steph, it wasn't hard to watch but some small part of her said to help the poor girl. She had put the girl in the same situation and now seeing it in front of her it made her sick to watch it. When this war was over and if she lived, she was going to make sure that people like Tracyn who rode a high horse would get what they had coming. He was no better than the sith and the sith no better than the Jedi. Just two cults of freaks trying to prove who was the strongest.

That being said daisy was just as much a freak, the seven foot tall three hundred pound woman in armor was a sight to see. As a team they could take almost anyone she had turned Jak Sandrow into a green bloody pulp, she had near beaten steph to death but now wasn't a time to pick a fight. They had a job to do, wipe out whatever sith remained on this base. Looking over to her brother Martin she nodded. The transport landed and before she stepped out daisy grabbed a briefcase and slung it around her on a strap. It was a rather hefty and large case but it was silver and unmarked. Havoc was most likely unaware of what they were, but to fill them in they were the next step of soldier. Augmented super humans capable of destroying armies. Rolland had proven that by crushing Noah on Kifu and helping to thwart them. "Moving." she said stepping out, sniper in hand. They would burn this world then BDZ it just to prove a point

Look at that, saved by the Doc.

It was a pity really, there was a man who truly wanted to help his squad mate. His awful, inconsiderate, psychotic addict of a squad mate. Pity seemed to be a central theme of the woman, well that and moderate brain damage. She lay there, catching her breath for a few moments, not having a massive knee on her chest was always a plus.

She laughed, poor Doc. It must have hurt him on an emotional level as a medic to watch Steph lumber out into battle time and time again out of her mind on drugs, coming back half broken each time. It was true, she did need help. She just couldn't see it.

“Ahm fine, Doc,” she slurred, hesitant to try and stand up. Her stomach really was protesting something fierce, probably just one of her slowly failing organs protesting after taking that almighty fist. “Ah da even ken why ye worry...ah...sae much.”

This is not the type of scene he wanted to see.

Nick didn't expect anything near this. A small backwater town on a small planet. It had seemed like the perfect place to spread his message, and more important it had seemed like the best place he could go to help. There were probably more than a few people who he could provide basic medical help to, some things that he could fix, and maybe he could teach them how to better get some food and how to improve their lives. That was the perfect reason for him to head to the place, and that had been the hope when he had gotten there.

The entire village seemed to be gone, though.

The goal of his stay changed the instant he had seen what was left. Nick was going to try to find a survivor or two, try to make sure they didn't die, and then he was going to bury the dead. This wasn't the type of thing that he liked, obviously, but it was something that he seemed to be doing a lot lately. The people around the galaxy just seemed to quick to try to kill each other. Don't think about that, though. There are probably a few people around here that aren't dead. I just have to find them, and I can do something for them.

The hard part would obviously be finding them.
