SPECIAL FEATURES
STRENGTHS
  • Utility: The VX-2 Utility Droid is capable of performing a variety of different functions, giving it an excellent amount of versatility
  • Repulsorlift: The VX-2 Utility Droid is repulsorlift mounted, which allows it to access areas that might normally be inaccessible for other models of droids
  • Sensors: Each VX-2 Utility Droid comes equipped with a host of advanced sensors, allowing them to detect a variety of different threats and potential points of interest
  • BOOM: Should the VX-2 be captured by enemy forces, it can employ a self destruct feature to prevent sensitive data from falling into enemy hands
WEAKNESSES
  • Lover, not a fighter: The VX-2 Utility Droid is NOT designed for any sort of serious combat, and should be kept away from enemy units at all costs
  • Weak: The VX-2 Utility Droid's armor provides only minimal protection at best against most types of damage
  • Repulsorlift: Should the VX-2 Utility Droid's repulsorlift become disabled or destroyed, the droid will come violently crashing down to the ground
  • BOOM: When the VX-2 activates its self destruct mechanism, the resulting explosion does not discriminate between friend and foe
DESCRIPTION

The creation of the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant's so called "Blastromech" Droids left the Imperial Remnant with an excess of R2-series Astromech Droid sensor domes, creating something of a conundrum for Imperial engineers. Not wanting to get rid of the sensor domes but unsure what to do with them, the Imperial Remnant decided to use them to create a brand new type of droid, marrying them to the frames of
Viper Probe Droids.

The resulting VX-2 Utility Droids were capable of executing a variety of critical functions, such as diagnostic and repair work, interfacing with different types of starships and transmitting sensitive communications over long distances. Encouraged by the success of the initial production run, the Imperial Remnant decided to expand production with the help of the N&Z Umbrella Corporation, and today, the VX-2 Utility Droid is a common sight amongst the many bases and starships of the Imperial Remnant.

One particularly interesting feature of the VX-2 is its Self-Destruct Mechanism, which allows the droid to destroy itself should it be captured by enemy forces with any type of sensitive data. Of course, the resulting explosion does not discriminate between friend and foe, and when a VX-2 self destructs, it is recommended to get as far away from the exploding unit as possible.
