- Highly Maneuverable: The Ravager was designed to be a highly maneuverable fighter, featuring a host of maneuvering thrusters allowing the ship to move across all three axis with relative ease.
- Patrol Craft: The Ravager ships are designed to offer security to the Vylmiran Home system, and as such contain the necessary features to conduct law enforcement operations, including the ability to disable and incapacitate other small craft, as well as a boarding umbilical allowing it to link and transfer cargo and personnel between vessels in flight
- High Armaments: In addition to the Ion and Tractor weaponry designed for non-lethal apprehensions, the ship features six laser cannons and two Proton Torpedo tubes., making it adept at dispatching other ships
- Boarding Actions: The Ravager ships feature the utilities required to staff and supply a small boarding team of marines.
- Inertial Compensators: The Inertial Compensators allow the Ravager ships to take full advantage of their six-axis flight range, and perform a number of daring maneuvers.

- Newbie-B-Gon: The Ravager ships are designed to operate at a high level of finesse. While newer pilots can fly them, the upper limit of skill in the ship's design is quite high, meaning that without a well-trained pilot, the ship's effectiveness is greatly reduced.
- Lone Wolf: While the Ravager has unparalleled armaments for dogfights, it does not fare well in 1 v. many engagements.
- Inertial Compensator: If the Inertial Compensator module is damaged, the ship can behave erratically, greatly increasing the risk of crashing. Side effects include listing, drifting, thrusters not firing, or thrusters locked in the active position.
- Gimballed Engines: While the main engines have a gimbal feature to assist with landing, extensive damage to the gimbal structures may result in difficulty maneuvering and/or landing.

The first project to emerge from the newly created VTI Drive Yards, the Ravager is designed as a home defense vessel. Armed to the teeth for a ship with primarily civilian usage, the Ravager is a patrol craft one must consider carefully before crossing. Equipped with Inertial Compensators and a host of maneuvering thrusters, the Ravager is capable of remaining off the line of fire while still offering an endless barrage of laser fire. Additionally, it features non-lethal options in the form of Ion Cannons and tractor beams, allowing it to disable other ships, and capture most small-craft class ships. Additionally, the onboard Marine compliment and Boarding Umbilical allow the ship to conduct boarding actions on most shuttles and transports. While it has the capability of being deployed to combat zones, the ship is designed first and foremost as a system security vessel, and is rarely seen beyond the reaches of the Vylmir system.
