SPECIAL FEATURES
STRENGTHS
  • Transporter: The Voyager-class Hyperdrive Ring possesses a blazingly fast 0.5 class hyperdrive, allowing it to quite literally transport ships to the other side of the galaxy
  • Modular: The Voyager-class Hyperdrive Ring is capable of accommodating ships up to Star Destroyer size in proportion
  • Reusable: The Voyager-class Hyperdrive Ring can be used multiple times, though it does need to "cool down" in between jumps
  • Return to sender: Once it has made its journey and cooled down for long enough, the Voyager-class Hyperdrive Ring can be sent back to where it came from with minimal effort, as it just needs another ship to utilize its hyperdrive function
WEAKNESSES
  • Power consumption: The amount of energy required to power the Voyager-class Hyperdrive Ring is incredibly high, meaning that the unit must "cool down" after every jump or risk being stranded in space for an extended period of time
  • Unarmed: Voyager-class Hyperdrive Rings are unarmed, and have no effective means to defend themselves from attack or sabotage
  • Singular: Each Voyager-class Hyperdrive Ring is only capable of transporting a single ship at a time, and cannot be used again for some time once it has arrived at its destination
  • Weaker: Compared to the Khonshu-class Path Station, the Voyager-class Hyperdrive Ring can "only" achieve a class 0.5 hyperdrive to the Path Station's 0.1 class hyperdrive
  • Expensive: Voyager-class Hyperdrive Rings are expensive and time consuming to construct, limiting the number of them that can be deployed at any given time
DESCRIPTION

Though the Khonshu-Class Path Station created by Karl Von Strauss remains an impressive feat of engineering and a technical marvel, it is not without its own downsides. The stations are few in number, need to be connected to a "sister station" and can be disrupted should either station be destroyed, sabotaged or simply shut down. While critically important for conducting long range operations across the galaxy, the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant has sought additional means of galaxy spanning travel, and has come up with the Voyager-class Hyperdrive Ring as an alternate solution.

Based on an ancient design constructed nearly a thousand years ago, and directly inspired by creations such as the Hyper-Jammer and TIE Hyperspace Ring, the Voyager-class Hyperdrive Ring is exactly as its name implies: a Hyperdrive Ring scaled up to massive proportions that is capable of transporting ships as large as Star Destroyers across the known galaxy. It achieves this thanks to its usage of seven oversized NZ Metatron Multi-Path Engines, each capable of achieving a 0.5 class hyperdrive.

When coupled to a ship, the Voyager-class Hyperdrive Ring functions just like any other Hyperdrive Ring does, though the Voyager-class is generally much more advanced than most comparable models. Each ring possesses an advanced sensor suite, a powerful navicomputer and artificial intelligence smart enough to make the necessary calculations needed to successfully jump from one side of the galaxy to the other. The Voyager-class is also reusable, though each ring needs an extended amount of time to "cool down" after every successful jump, preventing them from being used again for an extended period of time.

The Voyager-class Hyperdrive Ring does have additional downsides as well: each example is completely unarmed and unable to defend itself, and unlike the Khonshu-Class Path Station, the Voyager-class can only achieve a maximum rating of 0.5 to the Path Station's 0.1 class hyperdrive. Nonetheless, the Imperial Remnant believes that the Voyager-class Hyperdrive Ring will prove to be a useful supplement to the Path Stations and a valuable product for the N&Z Umbrella Corporation.
