Vong Question

Not sure what you mean by the first question but I can answer the second:

Yuuzhan Vong are kinda like the Mandalorians. They are a species, but also a culture. One can choose to be a Yuuzhan Vong if they adopt the ideals of the Yuuzhan Vong, as well as their religion and their gods. Chazrach warriors are a good example of this, as they were a different species but it's noted that their more prominent warriors were promoted from the Worker Caste to the Warrior Caste, one of the Yuuzhan Vong's most highly respected Castes.

He means to become a hybridization of the two species (Vong and x) in order to be naturally able and skilled at using their bio technology.
His second was an extension of this to the idea of then gaining other physiological traits from them.

Not at all.

Well, maybe, in some unique cases.

But using Vong tech nor being adept at it makes you a Yuuzhan Vong. To be shaped into one means that someone is actively helping you or forcing you to become closer in concept and image to the Yuuzhan vong species and the Yuuzhan Vong gods on a biological level. The purpose of being shaped is sacrifice. The whole of the Yuuzhan Vong species is built around ritual sacrifice.

Most people think Yuuzhan Vong are BDSM lovers of pain, but this is not true. They're intended to be a people of sacrifice.

Yuuzhan'tar the Creator sacrificed a different limb to create each of the Gods. He then shaped the world, and then shaped his children. Yuuzhan Vong (which means children of the gods) worship these acts by sacrificing themselves back to Him. It's natural. If everything was sacrificed from him, to sacrifice it back to Him is to return part of Yuuzhan'tar.

So your answer is this:

To shape someone isn't just to force culture on them or convert them to the Yuuzhan Vong's way of thinking. To shape someone is to literally, biologically, remake them in the image of the Yuuzhan Vong. To shape them as Yuuzhan'tar shaped the Galaxy when he created it : by sacrifice.
