HISTORY
After the fall of the One Sith the Core and surrounding areas of civilized space were mostly left to their own devices.
At first it was expected that the Galactic Alliance would quickly move in to consolidate their grasp after the fall of Coruscant and when Empress Teta joined their fold. But it was quickly shown that the Alliance had bigger issues on their mind, like the budding threat of the First Order directly against their borders and other external pressures surrounding their personal core worlds.
So it was chaos next.
Some Sith Warlords remained after their Dark Lord and Council fell. Using the arsenal left behind they continued to dominate the worlds in one way or another, sometimes subtle and sometimes with brutal effect. But they were few and without the consolidated armies and navy of the One Sith it would only be a matter of time until either the Alliance or the neutral core worlds would get their poodoo together and remove all remaining traces of the Sith menace amidst them.
Lord Fa assumed as much and knew an opportunity when he saw one.
See, the Sith had owned most of the essential infrastructure on the various worlds they controlled, using it to their advantage in times of protests or other military engagement.
The energy infrastructure was one of them.
It was this where Lord Fa took interest. With the attention of the Sith remnants spread far and wide, but without proper backing? They were divided and their grip perilous at best.
A concerted movement orchestrated by Lord Fa with the backing of his Vigor Troops broke their hold over four key energy facility installations. Then, it was a matter of consolidation, to ensure his hold would hold even after the Sith were toppled and trampled beneath the boots of the masses. This was accomplished by immediately slashing the prices of the energy export, giving the people much needed relief and a surge in energy production.
As the Sith fell one by one and proper civilian governments were installed, they were only more than willing to accommodate Lord Fa and his generosity. He’d be allowed to keep control and maintenance over these four key locations, as long as he did not immediately raise prices again and in return the Thirriken would be assured a healthy share in the energy sector of these areas.
DESCRIPTION
The Vita-class installations are standardized energy production and delivery facilities. First and foremost their importance stems from their placement within the energy grid system of their particular worlds.
About forty-five percent of all energy flows through the various nodes and lines that come together in the various Vita emplacements, before leaving it again and being exported towards the main cities or sectors of their world. On a planetary scale this is a huge undertaking, but a necessary one when you are taking in the scope of a planetary-wide ecumenopolis.
These facilities are protected liberally, but not in such a fashion that they turn into fortresses of their own. After all, that would only increase the likeliness of becoming a target and perhaps stimulate unease amongst the civilian governments and populace.
The first line of defense are ten strategically placed anti-air emplacements which serve to deter hostile forces from bombarding the facility or land troops right on top of it. This is further aided by the addition of a Guardian-class shield generator, specifically scaled towards the ground-based facility use. It will not hold out for sustained orbital bombardment for very long, but perhaps for long enough for help to arrive in one way or another.
Within the facility itself it plays host to security personnel from Fa Holdings itself in the form of the Golden Guard and the Vigor Troopers. Both menacing threats in their own right, the combination of both ensures that a wide field of threats can be managed in the long run.
To top it off there are three lines of auto-turret defenses. Each one just a bit tougher and heavier the farther you go into the facility. In truth Lord Fa was not a particular fan of such heavy defenses, but all of it was government-mandated, if he wished to keep providing the energy their planets needed.
