Vexen
Wraith

It was very rare that Vexen thought ill of Micah. After all he had done for her there was room for little more than affection, adoration and the need for scratching time. However, if there was one facet of the youth she would perhaps tweak it was his boundless confidence. Vexen thought on this as she pressed her furry body further back into the ventilation shaft as more guards came running past.
First in taking on this job. Sojourn Media Corp. Thought be many to be a front for outside factions trying to spread propaganda and cover up atrocities. They had long tries to present weak evidence that claims of the Eriadu massacre had been exaggerated for political reasons. They had power. Lots of it. But Micah had been instilled with a sense of doing the right thing, no matter the cost. No matter that they were, technically breaking the law by being here.
Then had come the decisions since finding out that this complex was both larger and more heavily guarded than expected. With defences that rivalled most military installations. Vexen was supposed to plug a device into their room of data banks. Micah would have reached a control console and pulled off the data that, in the right hands, could compromise their reputation. Perhaps even lead to a hearing. Then Vexen had run into trouble. Micah decided the best course of action had been to create a diversion nearby.
The last thing she had heard on the comm was him trying to smart talk the guards before a loud thump. He was unconscious now she could sense.
So what was she to do now? She was right by the data banks but didn't have the technical expertise to do anything when she got there. After a few minutes of cowering in the dark she steeled herself to follow the plan. Get this device - whatever it was - plugged in and then find Micah. She inched out of the cubby hole very, very slowly. The data bank was the next door on the right.
At least Micah had done something right. The two guards posted there were gone. A wraith in the dimly little corridor, she slipped into the secure room. She was afraid, alone and unsure of herself without Micah's guidance. But by chance they weren't the only hacktivists in the building. Seeing the female figure hunched over a compact screen, Vexen froze.
