Veteran Chaos'ers Challenge

So...

How long ya been onsite? Long enough to be viewed as a Vet? No? Cool either way.

I would like to propose a challenge toward any ready and willing contenders:
Start over. I challenge all of you to pick your absolute favorite character you roleplay as, or just your oldest, how about the one with the reddest hair? Pick a character that has developed over time, done things, been places.

Bring em to square one. Not necessarily undo all the things the proto-char did, maybe this archetype could be used on another character. Ie, Ashin Varanin only written as a man. But legitamate, such as main abilities etc.

I want to see how many of the characters, without genuinely trying to relive moment by moment, would wind the same way. For Male Ashin, would he have still fallen for a beefed up blonde had those events transpired just ever so slightly different?

Try a multiverse approach I guess is what I challenge. Bring em back, try to stick to the archetype but not necessarily the decisions.

I for one will do this again cause I enjoy the different tales told.

Can be an idea if you have a muse that is dead.
Problem is. Everything is very different now. Chaos is a different place 5 years on. It has evolved and expanded, and the factions/events that shaped characters have come and gone.

It's a neat idea, but one that will be difficult for most to pull off. It's not just the problems inherent with hitting the reset button on several years of one's own creativity, it's the intermingled nature of the stories we tell here. Even a relative hermit like me couldn't wipe clean the slate of character development without potentially interfering with someone else's story, something I have no right to do without their consent. My characters are my own, but the stories I tell with others belong to all of us.

Emberlene's Daughter, The Jedi Generalist
that could be interesting but impossible to determine if the characters would shape the same way since none of the old events are happening again. Still a different sort of idea and some of us got to explore it with the mirrorverse since it was vague beyond the general galaxy. We could be star wars style mirrors, could be multiverse mirrors who took slightly diferent paths with events. There were many possibilities

I'm with the other guys and gals. It would be impossible to recreate the settings and circumstances that shaped my older characters. From events, to factions, to even the writers who were active and now gone. These things were just part of nature back then. Not to mention that many of us have improved ten-fold in our writing and aged a bit in real life too. Besides. Dumping all that knowledge, work, progress, conquests, gear, loot, rank tags, force powers, kids, marriages, lovers, and Steam achievements from 835 ABY to 851 ABY just seems crazy now. It is seriously years and years of stuff IRL.

Now, yeah. I'll be the first to admit it's all just pewpew characters romping around a pewpew universe. But hell. We've all made real friends, real jokes, and really good times out of it too. So I'd hate to think about dumping all of that also. :D :p

Maybe next time.
