ADVANCED SYSTEMS
STRENGTHS
  • Ion Pulse Cannon: The primary weapon system of the Vanquisher was the interconnected Ion Pulse Cannon that ran through the center of the ship from starboard to port. Utilizing eight large luxum crystals and a myriad of smaller ones that when used in conjunction with dedicated plasma rotors created a large localized ion pulse that could be focused and directed at enemy ships. This theoretically had the potential to neutralize all electronic devices on enemy ships, rendering them helpless to the warship's turbolaser batteries. However, the weapons required a significant cooldown period after each shot to let ionized particles disperse within the cannon's firing chamber.
  • Battlecruiser: Beyond the Vanquisher's niche primary weapon were roughly five hundred turbolaser batteries and dispersed ion cannons that could open fire on any ship unfortunate enough to become ensnared by the ship's ion pulse. Even without the aid of the ion pulse cannon, this assembly of ship-to-ship weaponry was capable of inflicting serious punishment on enemy ships by themselves.
WEAKNESSES
  • Lumbering: Much of the warship's interior was arranged to provide ample room for the Isotope-5 energy generator that supplied power to the entire vessel, alongside the massive ion pulse cannons. While the Vanquisher is capable of attaining decent forward momentum for a ship its size, it's still a glaring target for any enemy flotilla arrayed against it.
  • Command Tower: Similar to ancient Imperial and Confederate designs, the Vanquisher's command bridge was situated atop a massive tower towards the aft of the vessel. While protected by turbolaser cannons, this arrogant architecture invited the bold and the foolhardy to take a crack at cutting off the head of the snake.
DESCRIPTION

The majority of the Sith Empire's naval vessels were designed around the ancient warships of the Galactic Empire and previous Sith Empires throughout history, establishing the modern Sith Empire as the obvious successor to the ancient Dark Lords of the Sith. However, the architects and shipwrights of the Engineering Corps were baffled when they received schematics for a clear deviance among Sith-Imperial battlecruisers.

This was the Vanquisher-class Heavy Battlecruiser, a warship originally built by the ancient Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars over eight hundred years ago.

Aut-X, defector of the modern Confederacy of Independent Systems, brought tale of the Malevolence to the Sith Empire once they had accepted him as the Lord of Agamar. In return for his submission to the Sith Emperor, and the pledging of his stolen Confederate assets, it was seen as prudent that he was given a command ship as a token of the Empire's appreciation.

The Emperor took the crude designs of the Malevolence to the Sith-Imperial Corps of Engineers, and commanded them to rebuild the ship to the best of their ability. They threw themselves into their work, acquiring a large quantity of luxum crystals to serve as the ion conduit in the primary weapon system of the battlecruiser.

Upon completion the Emperor invited Aut-X to Bastion, where he gifted the droid commander with his new flagship amidst the Bastion Defense Fleet.

Ion Pulse Cannons (2)
These are currently listed as superweapons on Wookieepedia, which makes them banned by the Factory Rules.

Isotope-5 Energy Generator
Isotope-5 is currently a restricted material, which necessitate a development thread to be used on this submission.

This looks good otherwise.

Removed the Isotop-5 generator.

The difference between the canon version of the Ion Pulse Cannon and my watered down version is that the latter doesn't possess the same destructive capabilities as the former, which is why I did not deign to link the canon article and instead went out of my way to describe this version in detail.

[member="Darth Carnifex"], in my opinion, for this to work, we need more detail than is currently in the submission. The rough amount of damage this wields needs to be pretty explicit so that people don't just see the words "Ion Pulse Cannon" and then immediately think it's the canon version of this weapon. If this ion pulse cannon retains a significant amount of firepower for a battlecruiser (more than several turbolaser batteries' worth) this will need its own submission.
