STRENGTHS
  • Multi-Role - The vanguard was designed to fit a variety of roles for Sanjin's planetary defence force making it a highly flexible ship. The defence force makes extensive use of them, often using them as escort or patrol craft during times of peace and hard hitting strike craft during times of war.
WEAKNESSES
  • Hangerless - The Vanguard has no hanger whatsoever meaning it has no capability to deploy troops, ships or materials. Instead the ship has to go to the destination in order to deploy these. This also makes the vanguard reliant on larger ships and fleets in large scale missions and operations.
DESCRIPTION
With the rearming of the Sanjini Defence Fleet, officers began to notice the lack of smaller craft within the arsenal in order to fill the more mundane tasks such as patrols and escort. In order to save the larger frigates from being overburdened Sanjin contracted Okins Industries alongside Sanjin GENTECH with creating a heavily armed corvette to fit these tasks as well as being armed enough to hold its own when Sanjin goes to war. Thus the Vanguard came to life, a heavily armed corvette sporting concussion launchers and light turbolasers along with an advanced shielding system. After initial successes amongst the defence force the vessel began to be resold by Okins Industries directly to the market.
