Valik had assembled some of the best men and women in the galaxy in a Grand Battle Royal. Lodging and food was provided for all contestants, and powerful, even custom items would be divvied up by those who kept going in the tournament. Today was the beginning of the first fight, between a pair of Jedi Masters and the Fringe's most celebrity couple. They stood inside the Cauldron, which had cost no small fee to rent out for the day. It was about 20 meters in diameter give or take, and filled with boulders and smaller rocks to serve as cover, or projectiles as the case may be. Soon a bell rang, signalling to the contestants the fight was on, and anything was fair game.

When the bell rang Sochi slowly looked up, there was a fierceness about her, it was her own. She stood next to her best friend in her exotic pigmentation. She adorns a cream backless top with a deep V-front (that shows her both bare back and shoulders) and brown straps around her midriff that seem to accentuate her chest and bellybutton. She has a light brown loincloth and homemade bikini bottom. She also sports a bit of gray cloth wrapped around her feet (that shows both her bare toes and heels) and most of it around both leg calves (that shows her right knee) and left forearm (with a couple silver spikes on it). Brown straps she's tied around her lekku and montrals that almost reach the ground behind her. Her lightsaber in hand. The corners of her eyes lifted as she looked side to side. Hmm.

They bond she shared with [member="Rasu Gan"] would be an ally today, they had never tested it in a setting such as this. She immediately started to out her mastery of Force Channel to work, the stronger connection would make for a larger pool of energy to draw from. The advantages she gained Rasu would too feel through the bond. They needed to be on the same page, as she had heard much about their opponents. Her grip tightened around the silver hilt that was her lightsaber.

Ashin Varanin's attire accentuated nothing. It was armor, class-ten masterforged phrik plate that showed off the curve of a soul's parabolic descent into chaos. It flattered her body's sense of security. It was, indeed, sexy, if one liked one's women with the attitude and wardrobe of a Star Destroyer.

Then again, based on year after year and war after war, the strength of the Force bond she shared with Spencer suggested that the blonde Master behind her had Star Destroyerish tastes.

Ashin's lightsabre flared to life, a yellow-orange that hinted at sunfire and copper. She held the Jedi weapon in her left hand, her off hand, its simple durasteel rustling against her gauntlet when her grip shifted. She limped forward, leaning on a gimer stick she'd cut from a swamp tree near a certain cave on Dagobah. The battered, knobby cane had been with her on the long journey to the planet of the Five, and in many battles since. Her right knee, as was its wont, had grown stiff. Light as phrik was, and lacking a helmet too, the plate still weighed over twenty pounds, and long years weighed her down so that the cane-tip thudded on the rocky ground with each step.

The patron saint of the Unknown Regions cleared her throat gently. "That looks uncomfortable," she said. "I can wait while you change.'

Pulling her hair up, Spencer showed off the Murr Earrings she had borrowed from Ashin's stash. Along with the necklace the woman had given her when they first met, she wore a Sigil of Hope; both pieces of jewelry enhanced the woman's Force stamina and just looked stunning on her. Unlike Ashin's armor, hers would kill anyone else that wore it. A walking deathtrap Spencer adjusted the joints locking them into place. It was an odd thing for her to wear armor, she had never done so knowing that she had other means of protection. There was never enough protection.

Taking a step beside Ashin, the ultrachrome of her armor reflected the woman's lightsaber. Making a note on the armor that Ashin wore a smirk spread across her face, yes Ashin was officially the most attractive star destroyers in this galaxy. Glancing towards their opponents, she made note of the other woman's armor. Tilting her head to the side she wondered the abilities that would be used to protect her. Being a step behind Ashin, she inhaled deeply and felt the armor shift against her chest, perfect fit. Their bond made Spencer's specialty easier to focus on and it felt like second nature, Force Valor flowed between them preparing them for the battle that was about to unfold. Spencer didn't draw a weapon, but a lightsaber clung to the curve of her hip ready in case of a dire situation.

A hand moved against the blonde's temple as she brushed aside some of her hair, “Won't take long I expect.”

Taking a deep breathe, Rasu inhaled as much oxygen as was available, knowing that this would be one of the only free moments where the Shi'ido would get the chance to do so. Light poured down upon the woman, as the sun's rays bounced off the metallic armor scattered across her garment. Favouring maneuverability and speed over strength and defense, Rasu had placed various pieces of metal protection across her thin robe, hoping that these few fragments will provide sufficient protection if she ever need it.

Turning toward Sochi, she opened herself to the Force, and her friends mental connection, fusing it as they had practised those many times on Dorin, what now seemed like so long ago. Nothing would separate the pairs bond, they had made sure, and with months of mental preparation, the Force meld between the two would allow both Togruta and Shi'ido to communicate and sync their movements to near perfection. However this didn't assure a victory, as the pair had yet to ever face another duo as the ones that originated from the Fringe. Rasu had never come face to face with the famed @ Ashin Varanin and @ Spencer Jacobs, but she had caught wind of the sheer dominance the pair held over many galactic leaders, earning the respect and awe much associated with the couple. Rasu forced herself to swallow her apprehension as the two women became visible, and she took comfort in the bond Sochi Ru had established.

Gripping her two sabers, she unhooked the pair, and ignited them. Immediately green and gold clashed as Rasu broke into a sprint, not wanting to prolong the duel with unnecessary niceties. Making use of the erected bond, Rasu informed Sochi of her plan of attack, sending memories of her Padawan's recent trial of skill, in the hopes of Sochi figuring out what was needed to be done. Placing trust in her friend, Rasu did not falter, maintaining her speed as she closed in on her opponents. With her sabers trailing behind her, Rasu pounced, using the Force to close the distance between herself and Ashin as she immediately dropped swinging her weapons down in a feint at the woman's own armor. Slipping past, she split her legs as she landed down at Ashin's feet, kicking out as she hoped to bring the conflicted Jedi to the ground. Taking advantage, Rasu continued the movement, hoping that the woman had not anticipated the feint and had fallen prey to her lashing out below, both sabers dropped, seeking hungrily to dig into exposed areas of Ashin's armor.

A formidable duo their opponents were, takes of their accomplishments and achievements; the Togruta respected them. A battle of a lifetime, she looked upon them with the black eyes she had, still a tranquil expression on her face. She turned an nodded to [member="Rasu Gan"], and not too long after broke out in a sprint as well, following behind the Shi'ido, though Sochi stopped much earlier. For the plan to work she also needed to be in a closer range, though not nearly enough for close combat. She switched up the force form, instead using Force Affinity so that she could use her abilities for a much greater duration, since she had built up more than enough energy. She closed her eyes almost synchronized with Rasus pounce into the air.

At the time Sochi was quickly working up to a tactic she employed in a recent trial; a most flashy ability. She had only one shot, and it needed to be employed. She concentrated her energy from within her body, and then erupted into a bright, blinding flash of light. It grew intensely over a time. She began to make preparation for her, and her comrades defense.

Ashin's sabre flicked out, glancing off Rasu's feint. As the more mobile, unarmored woman slipped past her, Ashin's back leg, her right, swept around counterclockwise, weight on the other and bending low. So when Rasu's low, sweeping kick lashed out for the back of Ashin's legs, Ashin took the hit on the side of her armored thigh. She winced in sympathy as the kick encountered plate armor, and the sabre in her left hand swept away Rasu's blades with the motion of her counterclockwise turn. Low feint, low sweep, low sabre attack - didn't take much reorientation to deal with that. That put Rasu at her ten o'clock and Sochi at her three o'clock; the Togruta's Force-flash warmed her cheek, and if Rasu hadn't gone around her, necessitating a turn, Ashin would certainly have been blinded for a bit.

Her weight shifted back, followed by her left leg, as she transitioned into a horseback stance parallel to the angle of Sochi's approach. She kept the Jedi at ten and three, though that would only last a moment as Sochi was still sprinting at her and Rasu was still dealing with her own momentum. Rasu's low, transient stance offered an opportunity, as did Sochi's momentum.

In her day, Ashin had conjured Force Storms to chew up fleets, but not every situation required overwhelming might. Sometimes these things just required good timing and a subtle touch. She Force-pulled, in a small way, in two directions at once. The left pull aimed for Rasu's back foot, the one that she'd be using to bleed off the momentum of her run as she, presumably, looked for stability. If the pull slipped the foot out from under her, it might put her flat on the rocky ground, or force her into acrobatics within Spencer's striking range. The other small pull targeted Sochi's face as the sprinting Master drew near. The intent was to pull the Togruta's face into the phrik-clad right fist that held the gimer stick.

They had taken the offense, which left Ashin and her taking the defensive. Spencer eyed watching the two female Jedis move. They were similar to her and Ashin, minus the fact that they both launched an attack. It was a good thing Ashin could take a beating and seemed to drag all the attention to her. Most cases, Spencer would take this time to wander off and look for something sweet to satisfy her notorious sweet tooth. Alas, this was a fight and she was stuck – but the attention not being on her was quite welcomed as it usually was.

Like Rasu and Sochi, Spencer and Ashin had a deep connection, they were master and student, best friends and confidants, finally they were lovers. A connection that spanned every aspect someone could share with another living being. Spencer could read Ashin's movements quicker than she could even fathom her own thoughts. This meant she knew exactly where Ashin was going when Rasu made her move. The way the woman landed, low to the ground and Ashin's hand gripping towards the leg which was closest to Spencer. Giving the girl a quick idea, she moved her arms commanding the Force to her will. Reaching through the Force, Spencer pulled at the knee that Ashin wasn't grabbing with her other hand the force shifted against Rasu and pushed her opposite shoulder (from the knee that Spencer was pulling). In the same sense, Spencer reached out mentally poking at the connection the two Jedi shared with one another.

She needed just a moment to understand it and figure out a way to use it against them.

Time seemed to slow, as a soft warmth flooded her back, it had seemed Sochi had received the mental message loud and clear. However looking back at her opponent, it seemed to have not proven useful in the slightest with her own positioning ruining all of the Togruta's efforts. Not letting this small failure take over her mental state, Rasu returned her mind back to the duel, allowing her quick reaction time when her foot was suddenly pulled. Falling backwards, the Jedi shot out her arms, pushing off the ground and landing back on her feet. This proved pointless however as again, the same leg was gripped, this time pulling her towards her other opponent Spencer Jacobs. Pained ached her body as she felt it twist and turn under a second pressure, this time emanating from her shoulder. Breathing through gritted teeth, Rasu dealt with the pain, feeling it ease as tension was removed from both knee and shoulder as she turned to see how Sochi fared.

Rushing to her feet, the Shi'ido leaped backwards, landing beside the Togruta where the pair could again reassess and come up with another strategy. It was obvious that more thought wold have to be put into their following moves if the pair of Jedi were to come out on top.

(sorry you guys, just family issues. Please forgive me)

Sochi was pulled forward by the clever ash in, using the yogurt as own momentum against her, a careless mistake on the part of the Felucian Chieftain. As she was pulled she allowed herself to go along with it, not that she could get herself out of the subtle manipulation. As she came in closer, she could view the metallic fist that was Ashins, and soon would make impact. Though she had found out a way to get around it unscathed for the time being that is. Just a foot or two away from her fist, she threw out her own hand to rest, and pushed off the top of Ashins in order for her to flip over the woman's head, falling into a roll along the ground.

She kept this roll until she was a distance away, it would seem another strategy was do, she made her way back near Rasu, feeling only the sensation of her slight pain previous, and Sochi had already begun the self healing process. They would stand near each other, and think of their next step, all along while the others were surely conspiring as well.

[member="Rasu Gan"] was attempting to go from Ashin's ten o'clock to something like her two o'clock, putting her nearest point to Ashin right in front of the former Empress. In her leap, disconnected from the ground and thus removed from all possibility of leverage, she became the target of a quick, hard Force push designed to break her coordination and send her tumbling into one of the many nearby boulders.

[member="Sochi Ru"]'s tactical issue was a little more profound. By flipping over Ashin, she'd put herself directly between Ashin and Spencer. Getting out of that was, in Ashin's professional opinion, going to be tricky. Especially because Rasu's indisposition let Ashin put her entire focus on the Felucian Togruta. A crushing Force push, more sustained and broader than the snapshot she'd taken at the flying Rasu in the moment of the green woman's indisposition, slammed down at Sochi. The intent was to slam her to the ground or at the very least slow her to maximize Spencer's contribution before she could get away.
