- Warship-of-the-Line: The Vader-class is moderately armed and moderately armored, with a decent fighter carriage and reasonable sublight speeds. This allows it to serve as a well-versed ship-of-the-line in standard Armada naval formations, lending its strength to the greater cohesive collective.
- Low Maneuverability: While possessing average forward momentum sublight speed, the Vader-class is notoriously slow at turning and pivoting in space. Smaller cruisers and frigates are usually placed to the side and behind the Vader-class to minimize the need to turn when in a combat situation.
Developed from schematics acquired from the First-Imperial shipyard facility over Sluis Van, the Vader-class Star Destroyer was the first in a new series of naval warships built for the Sith Empire off of First Order designs.
Lacking intimacy with First-Imperial technology, the Sith Empire recruited many former First Order officers, technicians, and engineers to the Sith-Imperial Corps of Engineers to better adapt and improve upon First Order technology acquired during the Order's collapse in 856 ABY.
Many military officials from the disintegrating First Order would find service aboard these new vessels, their expertise becoming an invaluable asset to their new Sith overlords.
