Unexploited Resources: None
GEOGRAPHIC INFO
Gravity: 0.8x g constant

Primary Terrain: Arctic Desert
Climate: Cold
LOCATION INFO
Capital City: Erbellin
Planetary Features:
Ring-City
- One of very few artificial structures on Vaas, Erbellin is almost identical in circumference to the crater it is built around. Approximately 10980km in circumference, Erbellin is home to Vaas' small population.
Namuhol Strip-Mine:
- The beating heart of Virian existence. The Namuhol strip mine looks like any other strip mine. Only this one is a colossus easily visible from orbit. Since its settlement, the Virian society has slowly carved out the plentiful resources of the Namuhol Crater, circular incision after incision.
Major Locations:
Namuhol Crater:
- The second largest crater in Utangard, Namuhol is 3218.7km in diameter and 10980km in circumference. It is home to the Erbellin Mining City and billions of tonnes of different minerals and elements left over from a Protoplanet collision.
The Avilok Grand Academy:
- A large facility extending deep underground where exceptional Avilok Students are trained and mastered. The facility also functions as a factory and research complex, manufacturing the majority of gear used by the techno-centric Force group.
- The largest mining outpost, located within the Namuhol crater. Erbellin is home to the entire Virian population, though there are rumours of groups of disenfranchised S'kiss settling in the freezing wastes, outside detection. Erbellin was rapidly expanded and funded following the arrival of the Emergence, allowing it greater access to the large deposits found within the Namuhol Crater. It is separated into 50 Sectors, each 7.2 degrees of the Erbellin Circle, granting every sector a living space of 201km in length.
- Covering approximately 35% of the Virian surface, the Markoss Plane is a vast white expanse of, as far as anyone is aware, absolutely nothing. Due to its lack of known history, the Plane has earned its fair share of rumours and quirks in the Virian society.
Force Nexus: N/A
POPULATION
Native Species: None
Immigrated Species: S'kiss
Populations: Sparse / 20 million
Demographics: S'Kiss / Xenophile
Primary Languages: Galactic Basic, Skist
Culture:
For much of its existence, Erbellin received little attention from Skism. The S'kiss never had an interest in interplanetary expansion and so any outpost world that was established was purely out of curiosity or resource. With such little incentive, Colonies never had much investment. Vaas reflects this lack of care in its society, even Post-Emergence where it enjoyed four years of heavy investment and growth. The S'kiss on Vaas are, like the planet, Cold and Hard-working. They care little for cybernetics or material value and instead dedicate themselves to the work they have ahead.
Government:
- The Virian government is a rudimentary extension of the Skism core. A Planetary Head is elected every four years through a simple democratic process that is left to the Vaas Council, a collection of highly educated Politicians. The Democracy is not influenced by the people due to the belief that the common population is simply not fit to make decisions that will effect their long and short term future.
- Vaas is, unlike Skism, very industrial. The focus is on the Mining that sustains it and not much else. The Virian science sector is mostly imported from Skism where scientists have migrated to Vaas in hopes of improving its condition through research and development. Generally, Vaas is somewhat behind Skism technologically.
Society:
- Virian children are raised in schools not too dissimilar from Skism. The focus is on STEM in a competitive environment that tries to cater to individual needs and dynamics. Yet, due to the Council's industrial focus, most of the knowledge gained drops off, leaving those who leave education with specialist knowledge in Mining and Mechanical Engineering. While this makes Virian S'kiss specialist engineers that, if anyone knew about them, would be sought after, they are behind in the more science-focused subjects.
- Unlike Skism, Virian society is not as dedicated to the future. Vaas is home to a working population that relishes time off. Its nightlife is more reminiscent of planets like Nar Shaada and Coruscant.
- Crime is much more common on Vaas. Much like Skism, there is a growing insurgence of Religious Groups that try to cling to the various Gods they once worshipped and spread these ideas to those they consider suppressed. However, beyond this there are small cells that outsource rare Hyperbarides to groups found in the nearby Outer Rim Coalition.
GOVERNMENT AND ECONOMY
Government:
Non-Public Democracy
Affiliation: The Emergence Empire
Wealth: Average
Stability: Medium
Freedom and Oppression:
Planets under the rule of The Emergence are as Free as it gets. Unless you're religious or in any way Non/Anti Science. Persecution results in a Purge of that population.
The S'kiss are a majority Non-Religious Species. But those who were discovered to be practicing what is considered under The Emergence as "Ignorance" were quite simply killed immediately.
MILITARY AND TECHNOLOGY
Military:
- Vaas is protected, like every other planet in the system, by an orbiting network of over 5,000 Geostationary UAD Platforms. On the surface, a Legion of P1, Heavy and Recon Droids patrol important surface routes. The Void Corps also have a Planetary Army on Vaas that protects Erbellin
Technology:
Galactic Standard
HISTORICAL INFO
For much of Vaas' observed history, the S'kiss assumed it was a fourth star to their Trinary Home System, earning it the name Vaas, or Fourth in Skist. Once the scientific community developed and planetary observations became commonplace, it was quickly discovered to be a highly reflective planet. Initiai observations pinned this albedo to the presence of frozen water ice. An assumption that was later confirmed when probes began venturing into the depths of Utangard.
However, this discovery only further perplexed the S'kiss. The dominating question was simply, "Why is there water?". Vaas lies on the outer edges of habitable space, meaning that any water present will have frozen almost immediately. Yet its entire surface is covered in water that shows signs of once being mobile.
The answer lay in its strong mining economy. The largest crater on the planet, and the second largest in the system, the Namuhol crater is home to the majority of the planet's mineral resource. Resources that appear scarcely anywhere else in the planet (Another mystery later solved). The conclusion that was reached was that Vaas spent a short period in Utangard's goldilocks zone. Long enough for Water to appear, but not much else. Soon after, a protoplanet collided with Vaas and almost ejected it from habitable space, depositing billions of tons of valuable resource in the process.
Vaas is a cold, rigid planet with an active core and strong magnetic field. It has become a staple colony world in the Post-Emergence Skist society and provides a strong mining economy. It has now become the home of the Avilok, a techno-centric Force Collective operating under The Emergence.
