An Utai Panic Launcher with its ammunition magazine and T&E assembly removed

OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
  • Classification: Man-portable rocket launcher
  • Size: Very Large
  • Weight: Very Heavy
  • Ammunition Type: Missiles, bombs
  • Ammunition Capacity: High | 25 missiles or bombs
  • Effective Range: Battlefield (standard-range mode) Extreme (long-range mode)
  • Rate of Fire: Average
  • Stopping Power: Extreme
  • Recoil: Average (standard-range mode) High (long-range mode)
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Automatic reloader
  • Standard targeting system
  • Quick-change barrel
  • Free-floating barrel
  • Long range
  • Fast-track traverse/elevation assembly
  • Alchemical panic inducement: warheads fired out of an Utai Panic Launcher can cause very intense panic attacks over a somewhat larger blast radius than the original payload's
STRENGTHS
  • Accurate over very long ranges
  • High stopping power
  • Fast tracking
  • Barrels can easily be changed
  • Lightsaber-resistant
  • Can induce very intense panic attacks on and around the targets warheads fired out of an Utai Panic Launcher hit
WEAKNESSES
  • High recoil in long range mode
  • Heavy and cumbersome to maneuver with
  • Traverse and elevation assembly are prone to overheat
  • Can only have one type of ammunition loaded at a time
  • Very noisy, even more so in long-range mode
  • Force-nullifiers can neutralize the alchemical effects
  • Applying Force-light to an Utai Panic Launcher will render it nothing more than an ordinary missile launcher.
  • Easy to detect via Force-based means unless concealed
  • If the original warhead fired damages indiscriminately, the panic attacks are indiscriminate around the detonation point as well
DESCRIPTION The Utai Panic Launcher is, at its core, a mass driver-powered man-portable missile launcher that can fire anti-tank, anti-aircraft missiles as well as unguided ammunition thanks to its mass driver. What makes it different from its base weapon is the alchemical effects applied to it, which are twofold: first, the whole weapon is lightsaber-resistant and second, the alchemical effects applied to the weapon are such that projectiles fired by an Utai Panic Launcher will also gain the ability to induce very intense panic attacks around their points of impact or detonation points. Also, given the high muzzle velocities involved, the kinetic impact can be devastating, even more so when long-range mode is activated. Standard-range mode is usually used for assisting guided missiles, or for firing at short ranges, while long-range mode is usually used for firing at longer ranges.

With the redesign of the ammunition magazine, the recoil has been somewhat reduced, especially when fully loaded, while also providing more ammunition. However, since the alchemical effects of the firing mechanism impart the ability to cause panic attacks to the target onto its payload, it also means that, if the damage caused by a projectile would normally be indiscriminate, the alchemy-induced high-intensity panic attacks are indiscriminate as well, with a somewhat larger blast radius than the payload's.

Even with its alchemical properties, as with mass driver-powered missile launchers, the Utai Panic Launcher also has a finite amount of ammunition, and it still remains a heavy and bulky man-portable missile launcher. Because of the alchemical treatments applied on the weapon, the weapon is also rendered lightsaber-resistant. However, as with all items alchemical, the Utai Panic Launcher will lose nearly all its alchemical properties (other than lightsaber resistance) when exposed to Force-nullifiers.

Ravenfire Ravenfire I feel the alchemical effect of imbuing the payload with panic attack effects upon firing is enough to sacrifice one rating, but I did bump the ammo capacity and then the resulting increase in the ammo magazine size made its recoil less severe by one rating.
