DESCRIPTION
As the Galactic Alliance began its initiative to curb the rampant spread of Imperialism throughout the Stars, the Republic Engineering Corporation found itself contacted by the most clandestine of organizations. The Strategic Intelligence Agency, the secret and silent defenders of the Federation’s liberty, and pan-galactic values. They sought to obtain a specialized and partially unique squadron of their UT-70E’s for their BlackOps divisions. Naturally, as that contract and transaction never took place, the Board of Directors managed to arrange for a selection of hired mercenaries to “confiscate” a shipment of transports right after they rolled off the assembly line.

There was an investigation performed by the Coruscant Security Force after the goods were reported missing, and it resulted in a local Underworld Gang being arrested for grand theft. The setup was perfect in almost every capacity, with any conceivable lead being followed and subsequently tied up. No one would suspect a thing, nor knowledge of the existence of these “missing” and wholly-upgraded Starships. When these “confiscated” transports arrived at a secret Republic Engineering Facility located somewhere in the depths of Space, the technicians assigned to this new project set themselves to the task of upgrading this newly (re)created design.

They began with the external systems, after stripping down the armoured hull of each transport. Heavily armoured plates were swapped out for the marginal, and equally durable Fibreplast plating - which would form the foundations of the vessel’s stealth capabilities. While such methods were seemingly foolish, when battles in space extended well beyond visual range(s) - the UT-70sE was expected to operate both in the depths of space and as an orbital insertion craft. Thus, the need for becoming invisible in almost every spectrum imaginable was not only a requirement but a priority in the conceptual design process. There were methods of how they could achieve this result, but in the end - the design team honed it down to a small handful of integrated systems.

The first of these Stealth systems was the mimetic cloaking technology. Once considered to be the apex of stealth technologies, especially when utilized on the personal level, mimetic cloaking sadly fell by the wayside as the Stygium cloaking devices rose in popularity. However, there was one notable flaw that foiled most cloaking devices, including the popular Stygium devices. This flaw was the magnetic signature of the vessel - as there were no systems in play to reduce, or even eliminate that tracking vector. If a capable Commander caught wind of Stealth Ships being deployed in their Theatre of War - it wouldn’t be long until their sensors were calibrated and the nigh-invisible ship was located.

But, through the advances in technology, and from the genius minds that comprised the entire Corporation’s Special Projects Division - this glaring flaw was remedied.

Integrated Degaussing Modules would rapidly neutralize the ambient magnetic fields that encircled the UT-70sE, making the transport even more difficult to detect through conventional means. When combined with an upscaled and adapted version of mimetic cloaking systems, the UT-70sE would not only be capable of vanishing from the visual spectrum - but also from conventional sonar and electromagnetic systems as well. Effectively, this Stealth Insertion Vessel would become akin to a Phantom - stalking the endless Solar Tides in search of victims to prey upon. While the mimetic cloaking technology was the primary method of avoiding detection, the UT-70sE was outfitted with a plethora of secondary systems that sought to supplement one another.

These supplementary systems included a gravity amplitude modulator, thermal dissipators, photonic absorbers, and a suite of thrust baffles. The latter of which was coupled with a specialized blend of Tibanna gas, known as TibannaX, which was famous for rapidly cooling the fusion-related isotopes after they were expelled from the Starship’s ion drives.

From there, the UT-70sE was equipped with a multispectrum disguise suite. While many considered this to be overkill, the MDS was meant to help the vessel blend in should the impossible happen - and the vessel is somehow detected. The Holoshroud, as it was commonly known, would allow the transport to visually distort its narrow profile through the magic of technological innovation. Essentially, this system would allow for the UT-70sE to mimic another vessel - that was stored within the databanks - and appear as such across both the visual and technological realms. In a way, it was the perfect method of losing any Pursuit Craft should their vessel be discovered, as they could swiftly become something else.

However, there were some drawbacks to this system. While it was a high-quality projector, a Droid’s Photoreceptor could see through the disguise, as the projected image and sensor profile flickered periodically as the system cycled.

While the myriad of integrated stealth systems made the UT-70sE truly special in many regards, what made it stand apart from its competitors, was the power-crystal weapons array. This weapon was notably unique amongst the stars, as many vessels had yet to obtain this seemingly barbaric method of breaching deflector shielding. It wasn’t stealthy, in any capacity. When activated the brilliant beam of crimson light, coupled with the sudden flare of a deflector shield being bored through… the UT-70sE would become a freshly-ignited candle amongst the shadows. Nevertheless, if the Pilot played their cards right, the UT-70sE would’ve already bored through the hostile deflector screen before an adequate response could be mustered. Thus, allowing for the Stealth Insertion Vessel to blend into their surroundings - and slip by the various Interception craft sent to blast the transport from the skies.

Thus, with the UT-70sE in hand, the Galactic Alliance - or more specifically - the BlackOps division of the Strategic Intelligence Agency, would find themselves equipped with a Squadron of advanced stealth insertion vessels - capable of operating wherever they so desired.
