STRENGTHS
  • Close Response: While built with the purpose of being a combat craft, the UR-10 Lighting Strike is more of a support vessel. Brought in to provide Air Support for ground units, or to be a "Tank buster" craft. The entire purpose of the ship is to be built around the idea of utilizing the GAK-7 Assault Cannon as it main form of combat. While other weapons are to provide additional modes of taking out emplacements, such as shielding systems, The craft's main focus is to fly low under the radar of most other Air Support craft, dropping down fire upon enemies that are ground based.
  • Missed Me!: While the ship isn't one of the fastest craft out there, it is one of the more maneuverable. Speed is not the main focus. More so, the ability to fly low, between obstructions or fortifications, then drop a payload, and get out without getting hit. Being able to perform aerial movements to avoid fire from the ground, such as Anti-Air weapons, Hand held rockets targeting the vessel, and even small arms. Should the craft be hit, the shield system can provide a good overall protection, while the hull of the craft itself is heavily fortified should the shields not be enough.
WEAKNESSES
  • Out-Classed: Like many air or space craft, Many vessels of the Lighting Strikes size and class, are much more faster than it. Also carrying weapons that would be more in line with capabilities of Dog fighting. While it can do such feats of "Dog fighting." it would very easily be taken over by such craft that are meant to Dog fight. Such as the likes of interceptors, Superiority Fighters, and Dedicated Dog Fighters. While this Gunship could easily tango with your standard fighter, Bombers or other Gunships, Anything faster, with weaponry meant to take down Starships will clearly out-gun this craft even with its impressive loadout.
  • Support, needs Support: Much akin to any kind of supporting role, The Gunship has a very low Squadron count. As its meant for Air-to-Ground combat more so than Air-to-Air, or even Fleeting combat. While it can be used for boarding operations, or to attack larger craft such as Frigates, or Carriers, its not meant for it. Requiring other Starfighters to support it in reaching its destination akin to a Bomber craft.
  • Ever Onward: Due to almost all of the weaponry that the Gunship uses, being forward facing, it requires the gunship to be facing their target at all times. Making the rear, and sides of the ship extremely exposed to other fighter craft. Requiring the pilot to have situational awareness at all times. Otherwise, they can easily be flanked and taken down without a chance of firing back. Which lends to the tactic of never staying still or hovering. While it can be done, it is an extremely dangerous tactic to use.
DESCRIPTION
Created for the specific purpose of being a close air support craft, the Lighting Strike Gunship derives its impressive loadout of being filled to the brim with anti-Tank, and Anti-personal weaponry. Meant to attack ground fortifications, Tanks, Walkers, or even offensive lines where it can swoop low over the enemy. Being well under typical radar range, strike suddenly taking out swaths of placements of troops and armor divisions or even Artillery placements. While not fast, it is incredibly swift in its movements and range of motion. Meant to even be able to be used in Urban environments such as a larger city, or in open ones such as fields or a valley.

Fortified by typical shielding systems, and then reinforced by a plethora of textiles to create an outer hull of protective physical durability. Able to easily withstand most small arms fire, Anti-Air, and even some hand-held anti-Air weaponry such as rockets.
