SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Fires 40mm rounds at 4,200 rpm
  • Depleted Baradium slugs provide superior Armor Piercing, or Seismic Charge rounds utilized for this cannon.
STRENGTHS
  • 15 Seconds of Fame: Rotary Cannons, are well known for their capability of sending slugs down range at impressive rates. The GAK-7 is no exception. More over, it excels in this class. Having the capability of firing 4,200 rounds per minute. Able to deplete its reserves in a mere 15 seconds if continuously fired. This singular feature alone is capable of ripping through armor in various formats. Specifically firing AP rounds, as well as EX rounds.
  • Sheer Force: The utilization of Depleted Baradium was used for the specific purpose of the 40 mm rounds within this Cannon. While initial applications were for an explosive round, it was upgraded to utilize Collapsium as a seismic charge. So that the initial impact of the round, would case an implosion, followed by the debris that had been drawn inward, to explode outward with violent force. Using the own structures components against itself. Rather than relying purely upon the explosive force of an element, or reaction. Additionally, the Baradium, when depleted, is known to have the capability of "sheering" or Sharpening when moving through a material. When striking a surface, the round will have the outer layers of the core stripped. Causing the round to sharpen upon the material it is attempting to pierce through, thus becoming a wedge that continuously sharpens, and strengthens itself to pierce into and through heavily armored targets. Thus, with one application of the Baradium, can provide two different, but essential usage within the GAK-7 Cannon.
WEAKNESSES
  • One or None: Due to the size, heft, and density of all that is required of the weapon, the GAK-7 can only have one emplacement upon the smaller starfighers, Gunships, or even Freighter sized vessels. While larger vessels could possibly have two, it was specifically built for Starfighters and Gunships where upon it can be used for Close Assaults, or Close Support in ground units. Namely the capability of piercing armor, vehicles, or fortifications upon the ground.
  • This is no Mule: The size and heft of the weapon, while can be used to mitigate recoil for extremely short bursts, prolonged firing of the weapon lends to extremely high recoil. So much so, ships, and vessels require the weapon to be specifically built in mind with this weapon.
  • Reload?: Utilizing an extremely fast Rate of fire, as well as requiring physical rounds, means that when placed upon ships, it has an extremely finite resource of rounds available. The reason the GAK-7 is known as the "15 second wonder" is due to most vessels only having the capability of holding enough rounds in reserve for 15 seconds worth of firing. Prolonged fights with the weapon is improbable, and the long duration of battles are nearly impossible with this weapon. Requiring the vessel to return back to an FOB, Carrier, Ship, or otherwise to be reloaded with more ammo. Forcing this weapon to be used in very specific situations.
  • Particle Shields: As with any kind of physical projectile shielding generated out of energy, Rounds from this weapon can be defended against from the like of particle shields. Of course the seismic charge will still go off when impacting the shield, however, will not nearly do as enough damage should it actually hit a physical target. Greatly reducing the effectiveness of this weapon against shielding systems most typically used by other ships.
DESCRIPTION
With the expanding forces of the Sith Keepers, Individuals who are vying for the shadows in where upon they can grow, manifest, and bolster their strength, have attempted to generate a fielding of Troopers, and ground combat to be on par, or superior to other forces. In doing so, one of the most critical roles one can fill, is Air Support, and Air Assault. Namely, these usages are for that of Gunships, Bombers, or Starfighters performing various forms of "Runs."

In order to provide a suitable standard in which the Sith can use for their ships, AvCorp has sponsored the production of the GAK-7 Rotary Air Assault Cannon. A weapon specifically manufactured for the process of utilizing 40 mm, Depleted Baradium Rounds. Offering two rather unique functions to the Sith Military's Might. Namely, the conjunction of Baradium and Colaspium to generate a seismic charge when striking fortifications, armored vehicles, and anti-personnel placements.

Nicknamed the "15 Second Wonder" for its known capability of firing through its reserves in such a timely manner. Requiring for longer duration combat scenarios, to be utilized in burst of only one to three seconds.
