As for the latest development the Mandalorian negotiator and I are disagreeing and we are in a pm with a rp judge and the mando FO.

I have recieved some unpleasent comments and I can take that as long as the one saying things understand my will to correct them.

would want to urge mandalorians, and anyone else who are encouraging each ither to these kind of things to take a step back.
Things like above, that is however wrong on so many levels.
Its totally fine to say that I am wrong about something.
But to attack persona is very off the charts.

On the topic - To try and miscredit another by using the internet this way? What kind of person does that?

While I saw the funny side, I can also see how this kind of behaviour is bang out of order and ultimately the bane of roleplay. This kind of behaviour has no place on a board praised for dealing with things in a semi mature manner, and drawing parallels between members and Hitler simply shouldn't be tolerated.

I might be role playing a somewhat abrasive, racist character but I'd never step so low as to personally attack someone like this.


Shame on you. Absolute shame. Especially coming from people that role play some of the most honorable characters on the board. You should carry yourselves with more decorum.

Sadly, it's what some do on the internet. People say and do things that they wouldn't do in real life because they think (and mostly do) get away with it.

This is about the 7th time someone has made a Downfall caption video. I think I was Hitler in one of them.

Immature, sure, but as [member="Jay Scott Clark"] says you have to take a step back. Look at it from both angles.Threads like this are in no way more helpful except to explain to anyone who's not heard about it what's going on.

If you want to actually get something done and you feel you have a case, report the PM or post involved. Public airing of laundry isn't going to help you.

Personally, I think those Hitler Downfall memes are hilarious. However, I can understand why you'd be offended.

I know the OS and GR haven't been on the best of terms, but I do hope that you take my advice to heart. Making a thread to complain about it is only going to undermine you. It will not fix the situation, but rather make it worse. If you feel this video is something that offends you, you should report it. Doing anything else, outside of talking to the other party privately, is not going to accomplish anything.

Now, what I'm about to say isn't meant to be offensive. However, things like this aren't made for no reason. They are usually spurred on by something. Considering this thread, it's clear that your OOC conduct has played a part in it. The condescending "deal with the facts" posts are infamous. They've also spawned a meme on the board (Mantic Facts). They're also directly referenced in that video.

I'm not saying what they've done is right or wrong, but if that is the way you treat people, you can't be surprised if they see you as someone who should be mocked. Respect is a two way street. If you're not willing to give it, then neither will they.

It is always much wise wisdom poured over one when making these threads.

I can definitely see and recognize many points made against bringing it to the public boards. Unfortunately there is no way I can report the writer behind the video since I cant be sure who it is. If I knew who it was I would report said writer.

This is my reasoning.

While I myself can shrug it off and move on like most folks on the board I am not sure a 25 year younger version of myself could have. That version might have felt very cornered and perhaps even bullied.

Yes, it is common that things like this happen. But it does not make it right. This is why I brought it up. It is not right.

I am pretty sure there are many members in chaos that do not appreciate this sort of behavior and I hope that bringing issues out in the open it will hopefully make the persons that have taken these kind of actions to reconsider the next time they feel their fingers itch.

If above point was reached it is totally worth it if even if I loose some popularity points or credibility in chaos.
If above point was not reached it was still worth a shot.

Do I expect folk to suddenly agree with me now? No, some might and some might not.

A board may have rules against something, but they are worth nothing unless the site now and then make sure to remind everyone about it. Chaos is a large community and I as member feel that I want to do what I can to oppose people who without second thought compare a fellow writer with Adolf Hitler.

Will I regret being this problematic if it leads to me loosing faction leadership? No.
I would feel sorry for myself a bit, I love organizing and leading role playing factions/guilds or whatnot. But its not more important to me than above reasoning.
I hope to remain in such a position in chaos since from what I can tell its positive sides outweighs the negative ones.

To give some hope to you I can tell you that I most certainly will read and take your advice/concerns/statements seriously.

Splendid [member="Popo"] - While I recognize this constructive criticism and that I am not laying awake at night over it the person who did this cant possibly know that it would not bother me greatly.

To pull a joke on someone you know is one thing but no one on chaos knows me well enough to decide that.
So my intent is to send a message to think before doing these kind of things, it may hurt someone.
Is an impossible crusade to exterminate these things from the internet. I would say yes. Does it mean to stop caring? No, not in my oppinion.

Also, you're a head of state as a Faction Admin for the Galactic Republic, Mantic. Heads of state are lampooned on a daily basis, regardless of where they are or who they are. I think you should treat this less as a personal attack and more as someone trying to make light of your policy decisions.

I understand that you might feel discouraged, but every once in a while it is okay to laugh at oneself and try and see things from someone else's perspective. You might not think the board knows you well enough to mess around with you. Well whoever made the video isn't messing around with you, but rather the character and Faction Admin, Mantic Dorn.

Do you really think Presidents and political leaders are going to tell a political cartoonist that "You don't know me well enough to publish that image?" Of course not. Even responding to the lampoon, aside from a light chuckle, would be unpresidential.

So make like a duck and let it slide off, because as a Faction Admin this probably won't be the last criticism you hear.
