Ugh...Another One?

"Today?" Rainbow repeated, surprised and completely caught out. She'd need hours to set up a job like this, to plant seeds, maybe even do some manual work, and she had no idea if she could do it that fast. That was heck of a deadline. One factory, easy, every refinery on the planet? Much harder. She paused, thinking about it. She had a few ideas.

"......Maybe. It's not going to be easy to do it in a day." She said without commitment, hoping that she sounded professional. Could she get even more credits out of this? Maybe, if she made it sound hard enough.

Nemene gave the woman a flat stare, her eyes boring into the pink haired woman's skull. Clearly she had no patience for waiting. She wanted this done now, and she wanted it done as fast as possible. A part of her wondered whether or not she would have to kill this girl after the job was done, she knew quite a bit already about her...then again she could likely keep her mouth shut if Nemene threw enough money at her.

Inwardly she shrugged.

“Today.” Nemene said flatly. “Twelve thousand. Another thousand if you manage it within the next twelve hours.”

Perhaps the speed would make her sloppy, or perhaps the money on the line would make her better. Nemene had no idea, but she wanted this done. She wanted to be heard by the leaders of the Fringe, and this was the best way to get them here.

Rainbow sat back in her chair, and breathed out in a loud 'wow' motion. She sat forwards again, placing her chin on her hands and her elbows on the table thoughtfully for a moment, pondering. Shutting down the refineries manually in that time was impossible. She'd need a squad, infiltration to place hardware, and all kinds of things. No. What she needed was a group reason to shut them down. She thought for a moment.

And then she gave a massive smile.
"Got it!" She said chirpily. "Sure! I can do that! Thirteen thousand!!! Definitely!" She smiled massively. She couldn't wait! THIRTEEN THOUSAND CREDITS!!! It was like a dream come true!

“Don't disappoint me.” Nemene said the words flatter than the marble floors in a mansion, though she did not add 'Or i'll kill you and anyone you've ever loved'. It was a simple matter to her, she would get what she wanted or everyone and everything would pay. In her head this logic made complete sense and nothing anyone else said contrary to it would convince her otherwise.

If Rainbow failed her Nemene would have no choice except to tie the woman to a wall, torture her for several days, and then when she realized the error of her failures...kill her. She would do this not because she enjoyed it...though she did a tad, but because it was necessary. How else would others learn not to fail her? How else would they realize their folly? It was that simple.

These were lessons her father had taught her, and they would be followed.

Always.

Rainbow, who somehow turned even whiter than she was anyway, sat blinking at that for a moment, and then scrambled away. The truth was... well, this was going to be easy. She had an idea! A plan! Something that made her feel clever. Oh, sure an ordinary person would try to slice in to the refineries. And that was do-able, but time consuming, and with only a day to do it, just too risky. No. Rainbow had a better idea. She rushed back to her ship, and fired up her computer, smiling as it came online.

A while ago, she had made sure she had hacked in to the Holo News Network, just so that she could get any news stories she needed to nice and early, or maybe place the odd bit of information when she had to. And now was one of those times. But first of all, she wrote a quick algorithm to search information based on the refineries. Namely, to find a part that they all used. The search brought back a few results, and she picked the most technical and important sounding one. After that, she drafted up a convincing sounding news story about how the parts were defective, and how several had exploded, causing mass fires. The company responsible were now ordering a full recall, and a shut down of any facilities using them. And then she published it.

Of course, she had leg work to do. She had to follow it up with 'official' statements from the company, leaks, other news stories, sources, she was sending articles flying all over the holonet about the defect, so that by the time the order reached the refineries here for them to shut down, it would have come from their own companies, not Rainbow.

Now just to sit back and see if it worked...
