Marshal, Journeyman Protector
Qena City, Qena System
New Year's Eve
Objective 1 : Party.
Objective 2 : Watch the festivities.
Objective 3 : Meet and discuss serious issues.
Objective 4 : Free (DBAD)
Bringing together disparate groups was difficult, and even dangerous, as it could even spark conflicts. However, the Commander believed the value was worth the risk. She'd seen what greed and individualism had wrought, and wanted to see better. Though she herself had held reservations about tying her own family, the New Star League Remnants, to others, it had been a positive experience overall, despite the setbacks and challenges. For this evening, Invitations had been made, and a HoloNET news addendum ensured the event's time location and dress code was available.
The venue for the Federation meeting had been UGF headquarters, and then the strategium aboard the Defender, before Arla had changed the final location to her home in New Alula City. This would be a gathering of some note, but also the beginning, she fervently hoped, of new friendships. Her bond with Serrin, Arla hoped, would bring the Night Sisters together with the Lilaste Order and the Remnants, in the United Galactic Federation. The views from the apartment complex were spectacular, of the cityscape just turning from evening to night as the sun's light faded and the artificial glow of the city planet lit up the darkness in a variety of colours.
The expansive penthouse was decorated gently, not ostentatiously with some Federation banners, and she'd hired a temporary staff for the evening to see to the food and drink service, as well as providing entertainment. Holoprojectors turned otherwise bare spaces into beautiful vistas of various planets. It was like visiting a planetarium, inside an apartment. There was a hell of a good supply of both food, and drinks, enough to satisfy most any taste and appetite. The entertainment consisted of a band and a dj, with each sectioned off artfully with sound dampeners so as not to overlap.
Arla herself was dressed, she thought and hoped and prayed, spectacularly. A friend had contacted a vaunted Qenan tailor to produce her gown, and surprised her with it on the eve of the function. She could hardly have refused. This would be half party half meeting, and she hoped that the good vibes would lead to a successful uniting of their groups.
Or, no one would turn up to her party, and she would be very, very sad. She hoped that didn't happen.
