STRENGTHS
Hallway Clearer: The Mastiff was designed with boarding enemy ships in mind, and is purpose-built to be a formidable weapon within the cramped rooms and hallways of ships. It is capable of filling a hallway with ricocheting pellets that can tear through flesh and most light armor.
Thraedar Networking: The Mastiff is capable of linking up to the HUD of Thraedar armor, vehicles, and etc, allowing it to show where its pellets will likely impact through a digital indicator on the armor's internal visor screen, as well as keeping the user updated on how many shells are left in the weapon, and indicates any issues within the weapon's hardware.
WEAKNESSES
Manual Loading: To keep the weapon streamlined and to reduce bulk, the magazine was done away with in favor of manually loading slug shells into the back of the weapon. This can take some time with a novice, but with experience comes speed. Either way, its still slower than simply swapping out a magazine.
DESCRIPTION
The Mastiff works off of earlier designs from centuries of trench warfare before Aed'a (the Thraedar homeworld) unified. It's development was rushed during the first in-flight civil war, where it saw extensive use in putting down dissidents and traitors to the mission. The Mastiff would later on be a deciding factor in putting down the second revolt. Unlike many of the other weapons then, the Mastiff has built a reputation as a reliable and much-beloved gun by the military and police forces of the Thraeda. Everything from the kick from the weapon firing to the satisfying clicking noise of loading a shell has been idealized, almost romanticised, to making the Mastiff one of the most known weapons to the Thraeda, civilian and military alike.
