The Tusken Elite Guardsmen have served as the protectors of the Baron of Tatooine for many centuries. They were first formed during the conflict between the Pyke Syndicate and the First Order over the control of Tatooine which occurred 34-37 ABY.
The Pykes had recolonized Tatooine in 30 ABY under the leadership of Baron Dalstile Karkivic of Tatooine. In 34 ABY, the First Order claimed that Tatooine rightfully belonged to them, due to the fact that the planet had been under the jurisdiction of the Galactic Empire. The First Order informed Baron Dastile Karkivic that he would be given 30 days to cede control of Tatooine to them.
When Baron Dastile Karkivic refused to abandon his claim to the planet, the First Order sent an assassin to kill him. While the assassin did not manage to kill the Baron, the attempt left him with a lifelong inability to speak due to an injury to his vocal chords. After this, the Baron decided to form an elite bodyguard detail to protect him in the event that the assassin returned to finish the job. Due to his inability to speak, he thought it would be best to have the unit be composed of Tusken Raiders, due to their use of non verbal communication.
Many of the Baron’s less open minded servants were repulsed by the idea of Tusken Raiders being given such an important task. However, the Tuskens gradually grew into their positions in exchange for payment in large amounts of ice imported from cold planets. Learning the Tusken sign language was not too difficult for the Baron, which certainly helped.
After another month, the First Order Assassin returned, but was swiftly killed by the Tusken Elite Guardsmen before he could do much. At this, the First Order decided to abandon all subtly and simply opt for open warfare against the Pykes. During the war, the Tusken Elite Guardsmen accompanied Baron Dastile Karkivic to several locations where commanding the army near the frontline made strategic sense.
Hundreds of years later, the Tusken Elite Guardsmen are still around, and are now protecting Baron Olex Rushkatov.

- Description: The Tusken Elite Guardsmen are among the most deadly combatants on the planet Tatooine. They are formed mostly from Tusken Raiders, but a few Pykes and Rodians can be found among their ranks as well. However, they all wear Tusken masks which make them almost indistinguishable from each other. The masks posses subtle differences however, which allow the guardsmen to tell each other apart. All of the guardsmen are fluent in Tusken Sign Language. This means that they can hold silent conversations amongst themselves, which they frequently do.

- Menacing: The Tusken Elite Guardsemen stand tall and silent, and can make most people think twice about opposing Baron Olex Rushkatov.
- Organized: The Tusken Elite Guardsmen form groups of three while in combat. One protects Baron Olex Rushkatov, one charges the opponent head on, and the third attempts a flanking maneuver while the opponent is distracted.
- Desert Warfare: Most of the Tusken Elite Guardsmen have lived on Tatooine for their whole lives, and are very well adapted to living and fighting there. This gives them a major home ground advantage on Tatooine or other desert planets.
- Conspicuous: The Tusken Elite Guardsmen stick out like sore thumbs in any crowd, which naturally hampers their effectiveness in urban areas.
- Light Dependent: The Tusken Elite Guardsmen are used to always being in well lit places thanks to the two stars the planet orbits. They will quickly fall into a state of panic if left alone in a dark room for more than 5 minutes.
