Turning Boats into Warships

Location: Imperial High Command, Osseriton
Time: 13:30

Jaster stood at the head of the Command Center, as the highest Ranking Officer of the Imperial Navy the Fleet Admiral had called a meeting of both the Commanders of the Escort Groups. Captain Bullregard and Rear Admiral Fredricson had been promoted to fill the gaps in the new Imperial Navy that he had been given freedom to expand where he saw fit. The Officer Corp was beginning to run dry, and at this point they had more starships then Carriers to transport them. Even the Army were under equipped and he had a long road ahead of him, but this was not the time for it. He invited the top brass of the Imperial Navy to attend this meeting.

In the room was Vice Imperial Admiral Richardson standing beside him working on the terminal, his Second in command of the Imperial Navy and commander of the 1st Imperial Armada. At the Holotable looking over a map of the near by 6 star systems, was Admiral Cataca, Leader of the Terran Navy and Commander of the Largest 1st Fleet, mainly Terran and Imperial Vessels. Then there were two others standing off to the side, one being newly promoted Admiral Fredricson, and Rear Admiral Bullregard, both were once One Sith Naval Officers before joining the First Order and sided with Jaster where he brought them to the Empire.

Next to him was the two officers, Commander [member="Oscar Saint-Just"] and Commander [member="Akar Merikh"].

"Commanders, with orders from the Emperor himself and due to your proven loyalty and given strength in Leadership and Teamwork as well as hundreds of fellow crewmen supporting you," He paused to grab two small cases off the counsel next to him and gave one to Vice Admiral Richardson, "By the Order of the Fel Empire and the Emperor himself, you both have been promoted to the Rank of Captain, with all amenities and responsibility of the rank, I congratulate you both, Captains"

He and Richardson took off their Commander Ranks and opened the cases to pull out the rank bars of Captain. From there they pined the bars on to their chest and then saluted them both.

Having arrived recently from hunting wild beasts, Commander Saint-Just -- no, Captain now -- had found the artificial, clean environment of the Imperial General Headquarters to be a nice return to what he considered normal. As he stood there, instructed to put on his Imperial naval full dress uniform, he was not quite certain what exactly he had been summoned for, but after he heard Admiral [member="Jaster of Clan Awaud"] speak he had a feeling of exliharation that he had not felt since his pass out parade at the Naval Academy, not even on campaign. Yet now, still several months away from his 25th birthday, Oscar was a captain, roughly the equivalent of an Army colonel. Although he usually would have considered this further fuel for his ego, in this case his analytical side acknowledged that the fledgling Empire's officer corps was still in need of more personnel to fill the gaps. Yes, although the Imperial Armada had gained valuable experience in fighting the pirates and other threats of the Unknown Regions, the new navy still had far to go before it could challenge the professional fleets of the Core powers or the One Sith. Oscar still in no way felt himself not up to the task, ultimately seeing this as but a stepping stone on his journey, and crushing the usurpers and pretenders that were the Sith was also a sideshow towards his ultimate goal.

The only thing that remained in question for him was what his next assignment would be.

Newly-minted Captain Oscar Saint-Just returned his superior's salute after receiving the rank insignia as he stood next to [member="Akar Merikh"], the feline. "Thank you, Your Excellency, but it is only due to the continued blessings of His Imperial Majesty, to whom we pledge our humble talents, that we have been able to achieve such great success," the young officer stated with his posh aristocratic accent, acknowledging the need to keep up appearances for such a formal occasion. "Needless to say, I, for one, will redouble my efforts in order to continue to make the Emperor's light shine gloriously and auspiciously throughout the universe."

With that, he lowered his hand down from his blond hair.
