DESCRIPTION
The TTH/NGB-001 “Phaedra” - Class Starglaive was to be the first Thyrsian-made Warship that was produced in open defiance of the Echani’s twinned declarations of the disarmament and dissolution of the Thyrsian Navy - after they had established their dominance over Thyrsus. It was designed to embody their militant culture’s ideas of adaptability and versatility on the battlefield, as well as their religious reverence towards their binary stars - and the various Suns throughout the known galaxy. This was one of the many reasons why the Phaedra was coated in infused gold plating and denoted with bright Thyrsian motifs - that varied from vessel to vessel. While this was more from their resurgent cultural pride, it was also done in direct defiance of standard conventions seen across the battlefields encompassing the galaxy. Due to the distances in space, the garish colours would matter little, but should an enemy find themselves fortunate enough to be gifted with the Warship’s visage up close - they would know that it was the Scions of the Sun that sent them screaming into the Netherworld that day.

Its design was unorthodox in comparison to other starships within it’s Corvette classification, as the vessel was considerably taller in height. This aesthetic choice granted them the ability to affix its surface with various weapon emplacements that held a vastly superior firing arc’ when pitted against similar vessels. With the decision to utilize remotely guided and controlled turrets, the Phaedra was capable of engaging variable threats from multiple angles - without having distant blind spots - as seen on many angular Imperial warships. Instead, the blind spots were found much closer to the vessel itself, as the external turrets had issues tracking vessels after they had entered close-proximity. In addition to this, the integrated nano-missile pods were built into the warship’s structural frame, beneath the layer of armour plating, which saw their lethality fixed forward; rather than allowing for a cunning pilot to cripple the vessel by striking an auto-loaded turret filled with volatile explosives.

As well as it’s superior weapon placement, the Phaedra was outfitted with two external and modular engine blocks that allowed the ship to maneuver more effectively than it’s average void-kin. This allowed for the Star-Glaive to weave through combat more adeptly than another starship’s within the Corvette classification and provided a target of opportunity for the various threats the ship may face in the battles to come. While this threat was recognized by the technological architects, they believed that the benefits outweighed whatever risks such a choice presented - and sought to counteract such weakness by the inclusion of a retractable solar sail. With the inclusion of such an archaic method of propulsion, the Pocket Corvette would, ideally, never find itself immobile on the battlefield - so long as there was a stellar body capable of producing solar winds within reach.

The most curious aspect about the Starglaive was the overhaul and adaptation of the ancient method of stellar protection, predominantly found aboard the Tionese warships during the time of Xim the Despot. These mirror shields, forged from polished Kiirium plates, were the inspiration and precursor to the modern deflector shield - as they were capable of defending a vessel from harm - provided they were able to be moved into position before the plasmatic bolt impacted the hull plating beneath. As conventional weaponry would utterly annihilate the ancient method of protection, if they were merely brought into the present as is, the Thyrsian’s sought to improve upon this method of protection to assist in defending their starships from energetic harm once their deflector shields collapsed. To achieve this result, they impregnated the Kiirium ingots with Haysian smelt; which allowed for the shimmering metallic properties of the Kiirium to be enhanced - permitting them to ‘redirect’ energy weapons away from the warship for a small measure of time. Sadly, such plating was rendered ineffective against kinetic weaponry and would do little to defend the vessel once it’s particle barriers failed.

Thus, with the first Phaedra’s being pushed into production by the Thyrsian Enclave’s contract with the Shipwrights of the Coruscanti-based Republic Engineering Corporation, the Golden Company and their Sun Guards would be the first Scions of the Sun to receive their forefathers' blessing; as well as a much-needed edge in an ever-changing galaxy.

There's a little wiggle room on the ratings to go up one-two with the provided strengths/weaknesses. If you wish to make small bumps (I'd suggest Armament or Defense), to those ratings feel free to do so once that's done I'll get another look. Or, if you're okay with the ratings as is - just let me know, either way!
