DESCRIPTION
The scars of treachery ran deep within the ranks of the Sun Guard. Ever since their ancestors, in service to Darth Plagueis the Wise, found themselves betrayed and discarded, their organization was cloven in twain. They were manipulated in the grandest of ways, and their beliefs in the Prophecy of the Chosen one was perverted. As Thyrsus was a desert world, baked by a binary star, many within the Sun Guard believed that the chosen one would arise from their ranks. What fools they were. Many found themselves slaughtered by a Sith Aspirant who was pale of skin and wielded a brace of crimson bladed lightsabres. Those that survived would find themselves at an impasse. Join with the mastermind of their demise, hope for a bright future, return home, and rebuild in the shadows.

Those who joined with their uncaring master were remade into nothing more than bodyguards, shameful trophies draped in crimson, and forced to remain ever vigilant. The others, those that returned home to rebuild, brought forth a new generation of the Sun Guard - who went on a centuries-long quest to restore their stolen glory.

It wasn't until the Eight-Hundredth and Sixtieth year, after the destruction of the Death Star, that the Sun Guard finally reclaimed their lost legacy and went so far as to rise above their ancient rivals; the Mandalorians. They stood at the pinnacle of martial societies, even against those who twice enslaved the Scions of Thyrsus - who feared their power. However, to reach such heights - a dark bargain was struck. The Sun Guard were infected by complacency and greed. They became petty warlords drinking deep of the small glories that were gained through their collective peoples' ancient practices. But through this dark bargain, the Sun Guard were effectively purged of such weakness. In time, the very one who struck the deal rose to prominence within the organization - even coming to lead the Sun Guard.

But, when the proverbial crown landed upon that man's brow - he came to a disturbing realization. The man sold his soul for nothing more than a push in the right direction. The man stained his fingers with oceans of blood, and for what? He sold what remained of his soul to expedite a process that was already in motion. Such a price wasn't worth the prize, nor the consequences that would come once the bargain was broken. Thus, the man began using the knowledge that was stolen, all in preparation for what was to come. From this endeavour, the Vigil Oculi was born. A select few warriors, chosen from the ranks of the Sun Guard, would form the first of these shadowy defenders. They would be trained in the arts that were stolen and taught to recognize those who practiced them. Through preparation and vigilance, the Sun Guard - and the Scions of Thyrsus thereafter - would remain free.

However, their work could not be accomplished without armour to define them and protect them from the horrors that others would wreak. Thus, the Supreme Sun Guardian commissioned his finest artisans to craft the gilded mail of the Vigil Oculi - that sought to clad the Chosen in armour that rivalled the Sun Guard themselves.

Utilizing a layered composite and construction scheme, the Vigilance Pattern was a marvel of compression and microtechnologies. Leagues of delicate circuitry were woven into the armour’s skeletal frame; each intended to supplement the Wearer’s training, and inherent skill. They would be capable of seeing through veils that would otherwise be denied to them by the trickery wrought in the conflict betwixt a mind and their eyes. The silence that many would experience, when entombed within the armour, would be denied to the agents of the Vigil. For their helmets would house the spark of artificial intelligence, that would blend with, and become one with the consciousness of the wearer. Adding in a host of supplementary systems that were tailored towards the Vigil Agent’s operation in the field, such as comprehensive targeting and sensor systems.

While the armour plating itself was impressive, as were the systems that were threaded into the entire powersuit’s frame, the true majesty of the Vigilance pattern armour lay within the synthetic muscle suit. Through the interwoven and blended technologies of an artificial musculature, the wearer would find their strength significantly increased by the wonders of the rybcoarse, as well as their agility. They would become faster, and fleet of foot - whilst being capable of easily grappling with the most brutish of foes. Such strength was needed, as their enemies lurked in the shadows and commanded the laws of reality itself. They needed to balance the scales to carry out their Sun-ordained charge, and keep Thyrsus free from the insidious machinations of the Sith, and any - who would seek to enslave the Twice-baked Scions ever again.

Thus, the Agents of the Vigil Oculi would find their skills greatly supplemented by the capabilities interwoven into the armour crafted for them to wear. Through its continued use, as well as the mounting successes of the burgeoning agency - the armour would - in a sense - become a symbol of fear to those that sought to endanger the sovereignty of the desert world, blessed by twin suns.
