All in all, Amma had to begrudgingly admit one thing. Adara’s castle was pretty cool. Built hundreds of years before Adara was born, the structure gave Amma enough architecture to investigate, when she was up at night and hadn’t quite managed to sleep on such a comfy bed.
What if she dreamt of something terrible and lit it on fire? So, what was a teenaged Dib to do? Knock in her brother’s adjoining room door and with pillow and blanket in hand, sleep on the couch in his room instead. RhaeRhae wouldn’t let her burn down Adara’s castle…
… or would he… well, this once, Amma trusted her brother.
That trust landed her this fine morning curled up not on the sofa, but in the bed, while RhaeRhae snored from the couch. Amma stretched and smacked her lips, the mop of raven curls going to and fro along her head and shoulders. Rhae Rhae was a true gooder when he wasn’t trying so hard to be cool. Ready to flop back and check her comm for the usual prompt good morning sparky message from her father, and ensure that he had the right nutritional guide for the breakfast he would of course make himself and mother back home, Amma instead heard the yell of Fredgred as he skittered down the hall.
“Fred? FRED!?” Amma leapt out of bed without a care to the fact all she wore were loose boxer shorts and a floppy sweater, and rushed out of the room as a hail of green sparks popped and peppered to life behind her.
“Woa! Stabby! Where’s the..” Amma darted against the hallway wall as
Tabitha Solus
went rocketing past. Glancing back at the teen, Amma missed Fred rushing after Stabby, until…
“OOOF!” Round the corner he went! And boom! Amma collided with
Fred Gred
and toppled to the ground in a scatter of (one less) limbs.
“… ow. What’s your damage, Fredgred?” Amma groaned, plucking herself off the ground and offering Fred a hand. She stopped. Blinked… turned her head this way and that as she peered at Fredgred’s noggin.
“…….. blue.” Amma’s lips pursed in the faintest expression of a slight upturn. “Cool. Favourite colour. Didn’t know you were that brave, Fredgred… it.. I… I mean you’re brave, but not like… hair brave, you’re like, Mando pew pew brave but…”
Turning a bright shade of red in her cheeks, Amma grumbled as a series of tiny harmless green sparks peppered out of her hair.
“Looks… cool.”
