OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: Establish the admiral of Darth Strosius's main fleet.
  • Image Credit: Edited together by myself from this and this.
  • Role: Commander of the Faldos Battle Group/Inquisition Fleet
  • Permissions: N/A
  • Links: N/A
PHYSICAL INFORMATION
  • Age: Early Thirties
  • Force Sensitivity: Non-Force User
  • Species: Twi'lek
  • Appearance: Sporting a blue coloring and markings fairly typical for a member of the Twi'lek species, Missaa stands at about average height with an athletic build. She is most often seen in her uniform but she has been known to occasionally don fairly elaborate and stylish dresses during more formal events, and is almost never seen without her metal and black leather headdress.
SOCIAL INFORMATION
  • Name: Trierarch Missaa Tanniz
  • Loyalties: Order of Wonosa, Darth Strosius
  • Wealth: Missaa possesses a respectable amount of wealth from her past career as a smuggler and her current employment as an admiral.
  • Notable Possessions: Indomitable Star Destroyer, Heavy Blaster Pistol
  • Skills: Piloting, commanding, and strategizing are the main skills of the Inquisition's top admiral. She's able to manage a fleet, both in combat and in terms of logistics and repairs, easily due to years of experience. She also possesses good knowledge of the criminal underworld from her time as a smuggler as well as good negotiation and bartering skills from that experience.
  • Languages: Basic, Droidspeak, Ryl, Bocce
  • Personality: Confidence and a cool aura of control radiates from Missaa Tanniz at all times, the centerpiece of whatever room she occupies and the mistress of attention. There isn't a moment that goes by where you can find her panicked or concerned even in the most dire of situations. Despite this generally prideful yet eccentric nature she is a very calculating and intelligent person as well, more than able to slip from idle chatter and jokes into listing all the possible maneuvers to be made during a battle without blinking an eye.
COMBAT INFORMATION
  • Weapon of Choice: A Heavy Blaster Pistol sits on her hip at all times.
  • Combat Function: Although she generally prefers to be on a bridge far away from any actual gunfights, instead commanding and organizing a battle from her ship, she is no stranger to more individual combat as well. Her hand to hand skills are respectable and experienced enough for her to hold her own with simple melee weapons or even just her bare hands but her true strength lies in her sharp aim with blasters. She can handle any variety of blaster with above average skill and spectacular aim but generally prefers blaster pistols for quicker movement and shots.
  • Force Abilities (Force Users Only): N/A
Strengths:
  • Underworld Connections: Despite leaving the life of crime in the past, Missaa Tanniz does still possess and keep in touch with many criminal contacts throughout the Outer Rim from her smuggler days. This gives her access to a bit more knowledge in regards to criminal movements and the trade of illicit goods that most others might lack. Not to mention her experience both with and as a criminal allowing her to be able to navigate the criminal underworld and black markets with ease if need be.
  • A Mind for War: Although not formally educated in tactics and strategy like most admiralty and naval officers, Missaa is nonetheless competent and skilled when it comes to making calculated maneuvering and warfare. She specializes in making use of riskier and more unorthodox tactics that others would dismiss outright, having the courage and confidence in both herself and her crews to see them through battles with a mixture of luck and risk.
Weaknesses:
  • No Chains on Me: Due to her independent nature and her years of being the leader of her own group, Missaa does not take well to being ordered around. She operates on respect, not on rank. As such she will quite casually disobey or disregard orders that she personally disagrees with or that come from individuals that she doesn't care for. This can obviously lead to not only serious reprimanding and even punishments if she were to sass or ignore the wrong person, but also grievous consequences if she believes that she has more information on a situation than whoever is ordering her around.
  • Victory Favors the Bold: As a result of her gung ho tactics and thinking, Missaa often takes risks that don't always pay off. She fully believes that sheer force of will and determination will triumph over all else which, while admittedly being inspiring to her subordinates, can and indeed does fall short to foes or situations that require more planning and preparation. This is not to say that she is inherently lacking in tactics or strategy herself, but rather that she often entrusts key points in her plans to individuals or chance instead of something more concrete.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Born on one of the many trade stations littering the Hydian Way, Missaa Tanniz grew up working alongside her parents in the station's hangar bays. While she did learn how to tend to, repair, and even somewhat design basic parts of and for ships, she never quite had a knack for the more technical aspects. Instead she preferred working in the station's offices, managing logistics and work schedules as well as overseeing the manifests of incoming and exporting ships. When she was in her teens she began noticing more and more discrepancies regarding some of the manifests coming into her office as well as hearing complaints about one crew often requisitioning expensive and high end parts, to the point that said repair crew would outright steal them from the cargo areas.

Missaa investigated the repair crew in question and would discover that they were maintaining their own secret hangar bay area which exclusively serviced pirates, smugglers, and vessels belonging to gangs and cartels. While she initially wanted to shut the whole operation down the leader of the repair crew offered her a cut of their income if she were to help them keep their operations a secret given her access to the manifests and ship records. In order to increase her family's living quality, which due to their jobs on the station wasn't particularly the best, she agreed and began doctoring the manifests whenever the repair crew received a new vessel for them to tinker with.

This went on until Missaa became a young woman, by now having sent her family to live on a nearby world to escape the poverty of the station using her bribe income to support them, and the station suddenly came under the control of a corporation operating out of one of the local systems. The administration and records offices were subsequently filled with company personnel, with Missaa and all of her colleagues fired in order to make room for these new personnel. Understandably angered by this she would go to the repair crew and they would agree with her sentiment that the corporation having total control of the station was good for no one at all. Another source of income would be needed, and as such they would pool their credits together to purchase one of the smuggler ships that often came by the station for general maintenance. The ship was little more than an old freighter with a few laser cannons slapped onto it to ward off pirates and competing smugglers but it would serve Missaa and her group just fine.

Missaa would then begin her own career as a smuggler, bringing credits and goods back to the station covertly while running jobs for the local cartels that she had been aiding in during her time in the station's offices. Overtime however the station's population would gradually start moving away from the corporation's iron grip and after a few years the station was devoid of all but their personnel and droids. Without the station to call home Missaa and her smuggler crew would choose to simply keep going on the Hydian Way, doing jobs for whoever needed them and would offer the most pay.

This would result in them becoming regulars to the world of Faldos, a haven for smugglers. Here they would find stiff competition amidst their fellow smugglers but with plenty of pay given the rise of the Sith Order and their expansion in the region. Soon enough Faldos would fall into the arms of the Sith Order and while the initial governor was friendly and accepting of the smuggling industry, he would soon be tried and the world would fall into the hands of Darth Strosius. Darth Strosius did not share any love for the smugglers and other criminals that called the planet home.

He began a brutal crackdown of all criminal activity but did offer amnesty for those willing to sell out their fellow "criminal scum" and turn themselves in. Missaa Tanniz and her crew were one such group which took that deal, getting off on a light community service sentence due to their compliance and lack of any dangerous smuggling history. Said service involved running ships and keeping the planet's scavenging and industrial operations going, which Missaa would soon rise to become the main overseer of due to her skills and experience with such tasks. This did not escape the notice of Darth Strosius and he soon made her position official, then shortly after would put her in charge of overseeing the construction of Faldos's naval assets. Her experience over her years of smuggling work had made her into somewhat of a tactician with some combat knowledge, all of which would only grow as she aided in helping Faldos fend off pirate raids.

Darth Strosius would then appoint Missaa as the admiral of Faldos's defensive fleet as well as the planet's defense in general, making her the de facto second in command for the world. He found her independent nature and logistic expertise to be valuable, even if her actual knowledge of fleet tactics and warfare was a bit lacking. Time will tell if Missaa can grow into her new role and aid in the machinations of Darth Strosius, or if the Sith Lord will find her more of a liability than an asset.
