Trial of Reverance (New Republic Dominion of Alderaan, Open to All)

Alexandra Feanor

The Lady in Silver/Grey Historian
Alexandra would give an appreciative smile to [member="Faith Organa"], bowing her head and wondering what exactly was wrong. The man that she wanted dead was finally on trial and the charges being read as the courtroom became quieter, though not quite silent. There was whispering, straight crying and glares of hate towards the man but Alexandra felt a bit conflicted on how she was supposed to react. The past had been a great deal painful already and while seeing him did bring up that pain, she had dealt with those emotions during the fight, and right now she just watched almost apathetically as the man stood there in his force cage.

Her eyes glanced to the side, seeing [member="Beth Cadera"] and almost starting to head towards the young woman until she blinked and sighed, her head twisting and chin resting on her shoulder as a raised brow greeted [member="Noah Corek"]. The joke was something she was not surprised by and her own voice raised up to give him a quick comeback and a smile.

"Probably because I have to deal with an aging warrior every day who is likely to start losing his eyesight here sometime soon." Her smile remained as she turned back towards Beth and walking over to the woman. Alexandra did not get to talk too her very often and her eyes glanced to the side only once as she moved to stand beside Bethany. The Judge was starting with the charges and it seemed to go on forever, from simple destruction of property, to wholesale genocide and command of such. Alexandra faltered, almost tripping for a second as her eyes went blurry again, well... her force sight.

She still could not see, blind and unable to view the world in its true state. The Force was her guide after the fight with [member="Reverance"], the damage she had suffered unable to be healed with the force or Bacta, and instead requiring time to heal it. She was quite annoyed by this fact but there was nothing she could do about it. Instead she held onto the railing and finished walking over to Beth.

"Hello there, didn't expect to see you."

Beth stared at the man in the center of the room. The prisoner and murderer, [member="Reverance"]. She took a breath and exhaled as if it would help in calming her nerves. A relative disappointing feature as it almost never worked, despite what all the hype is. Breath in, breath out... Sheesh.

Anyway, Beth caught [member="Noah Corek"] and gave him a smile. And then, [member="Alexandra Feanor"] began to make her way over to Beth. Beth saw she held onto the rail, so Beth quickly jumped up and moved over to help her to a seat. Being blind, even with using the Force, had to be a hard time getting used to. Beth shivered at the idea of losing her sight. "Yeah, sorry I'm a bit late..." She said as she half-way listened to the Judge read out the crimes [member="Reverance"] had been charged with.

Once Alexander and her were seated, she reached over and gave the other woman a hug before returning herself to normal seating. In Beth's eyes, she was family. She naturally gave a smile - although, she wasn't sure if seeing through the Force allowed someone to see a smile. "I figured I should come to see what happens and all," She said quietly, not wanting to interrupt the Judge or get kicked out for being too loud.

"How are you? Hopeful that Justice may be served?" She asked with concern towards the other woman.

Alderaan. It's nice. It's a calm place. Peaceful at times. Why was this woman here? To come to this trial and watch what unfolds? To be pestered by and watch those people who wished to be political and use this trial as some hopes to gain political power and standings? No. She didn't come here for that. She came here for different reasons. Or Solan forced her to come here in his stead. Who knows! Regardless, she uses the ID that he gave her to enter this room, which she oh-so-kindly used.

Once inside, she looks around at those who are inside and well, doesn't know any of them. Or at least anyone she recognizes. The man being on trial, however, she has some slight clue. She heard his stories and what he's done. The man definitely has some justice to be had. After staring at [member="Reverance"] for quite some time, she decides to have a seat in front of [member="Beth Cadera"] as well as [member="Alexandra Feanor"]. The short person needs to see after all.

Faith nodded and watched [member="Alexandra Feanor"] walk away to greet another. she turned to the [member="Duke Kyle DeVoe"] , "heavy burdens to born all around. And yet I thought I heard a bit of sadness in her voice, did you?"

Had it been about the chase and capture of the man [member="Reverance"] and now that he was here standing waiting to be tried for crimes was it bitter sweet? There was no pleasure in these things really. Knowing you do the right thing could be small comfort for all the aches and pains it took to get to this one moment.

She looked over to where Theo now stood not far from the accused what questions did he have she imaged they were more for the man in the cage than anyone else in the room.

[member="Harley Fenstermacher"]

"Very well then.." Were the words that Barr used to response to her reply to the weapons. "I'm sure your company would know better than to sell weapons to anyone in the universe. It's just that some people don't have the right to wield these weapons" He motioned his rifle to let Fenstermacher know what he was he talking about. When he talked about one of his department he sighed. "Sure... I'll be sure to do it once I'm finished. Hopefully you'll put as much work into that department of yours like you do to the weapons."

Barr soon turned his attention back to the outpost once Fenstermacher change the subject from his company to the outpost itself. " Guess I should. That outpost isn't going to be in republic control itself. And don't worry about the whole not joining in on taking it over. Not everybody can be a solider or a business owner like yourself." He said the last sentence in a genuine tone. "Stay safe." Were the last words he said before his commanding officer ordered everyone back into line. He did just that, lining up with the rest of the troops as he check his weapons one last time before heading to the outpost.

Duke Kyle DeVoe

Head of House DeVoe
Dignitaries, VIPs and some select individuals who bore no leadership, but where here to bear witness were filing in.

The Duke had offered his arm to his queen and when she touched upon it, they commenced in getting inside the courtroom and seated.
His queen's concern of her friend Alexandria brought upon him a moment of silence before he spoke.
"I find many here have reason to carry the weight of what they have lost for themselves and others, your majesty." No it were not a direct answer to her inquiry, for he could not give Faith some insight as to the woman's sadness.

"It is no comfort for many to be here, but to see the chance of justice coming full circle on the man here brought to answer for his crimes." He weren't speaking of something she herself didn't know. Perhaps the Duke were just saying what were on their minds just for the sake of having it sound out, instead of keeping it in thoughts.

"Many will find some means of closure should the Republic not fail them here. Others... sigh....others will never find true peace, but continue on with the burden of loss nevertheless.
Should justice prevail...what is lost, remains lost, my queen." He lowered his eyes in remembrance of those lost that he himself could not begin to tally.

Noah Corek

Cocked, Locked and a Smoking Barrel
Factory Judge
Noah chuckled at his wife's response and sent a grin her way. To anyone on the outside looking in someone might see this as a very dysfunctional marriage but in reality it was just the way their marriage was. They would snark and make sarcastic comments, tease each other and make fun of each other. They both understood that everything was said in a loving manner and without any malice in it. "My eyesight? No I think it'll be my back and then my hearing that goes first. My eyesight is my most redeeming quality, followed by my intelligence." Noah once again made a slightly sarcastic comment to his wife and he watched her walk away.

All this of course was wiped away when Noah watched her walk away and then stumble. Almost instantly Noah's demeanor changed for sarcastic and snarky to caring and loving. Almost immediately he was at his wife's side, hand at the small of her back and looking at her with obvious concern on his face. "Are you okay cyar'ika?" Say what you want about their marriage but their was obviously a vast degree of caring between the two of them.

On Alex's more than likely affirmation that she was okay Noah followed her to her seat and smiled at [member="Beth Cadera"]. "I'm sure it is all right Beth. If anyone knows about getting wrapped up in their work its Alex." Taking his own seat next to Alex he rest his hand on her knee and gave it a comforting squeeze. Noah then eyed [member="Nicole Sarah Feanor"] and raised an eyebrow before shooting his wife a look wondering who the short woman was.

Once the pirates had given up their positions the fight was as good as over. Likely they weren't expecting Corellian vessels, let alone a Star Defender. Their motley group of ships were no match for it, even on its own and with back-up their fates were as good as sealed. Once in the effective firing range of the vessel's powerful turbolasers the aging Kandosii struggled to put up a fight. The superior X-wings of the Corellian Confederation were also ripping gaping holes in the enemy's fighter screens which allowed the weapons of the hammerheads to pepper and harass the Mandalorian vessel as well.

A smirk made its way to the Quarth's lips as the Conclusive Victory blasted into the Kandosii's shields and armor. Muted explosions and console beeps were some of the only sounds present on the arrogantly placed bridge. What was there to communicate? The enemy's destruction was iminent and their plot was foiled....Or so they thought.

"Ma'am! We've received reports from one of the hammerheads that several vessels have left the system via a route we weren't monitoring. The New Republic has captured one of the vessels though." Yularen bit back a curse as a final volley of turbolaser fire broke apart the Kandosii. He heard Elayne curse under her breath and felt relieved he wasn't the only one feeling frustrated.

"That was their plan all along...Our intel was solid on the Sith, how did we miss the pirates?" He felt Elayne's frustration, but he looked to her and shook his head before walking past and patting her shoulder.

"Prepare a shuttle," Yularen bellowed. "I'll be speaking with these prisoners personally. Tell Agent Cortez to meet me there."

Cortez was a shorter man, even by human standards. It was almost comical when one compared him to the pair of tall, black clad Darksabers that flanked him. Yularen gave him a curt nod as the trio approached. He had to admit, the Darksabers were intimidating and he didn't quite like how they reminded him of the Sith's elite units or even the First Order's own Death Troopers...But they were effective from everything he'd heard. Their opaque green face plates gave an ambiguity and air of mystery that he could tell was drawing the eyes of most of the hangar crew and pilots as their fighters returned from the skirmish.

"Fleet Admiral Nova, a pleasure to see you again." Yularen returned the pleasantries and boarded the black and orange U-Wing. As they boarded one of the Darksabers pressed a finger to what Yularen could only assume was an intern comm device. The voice that came out was garbled and unatrually deep. He could only assume it was an affirmative though he didn't know who from or if that was actually what was said as when the Darksaber spoke it came out in some sort of scrambled tongue.

With a hiss the doors to the U-wing closed and the transport lifted off and made its way towards the other side of the planet where the Lightbringer-class Star Defender was waiting for them. What should have taken minutes felt like days as the awkward silence between the four of them filled the troop bay. It got to the point where Yularen joined the pilot and co-pilot up front. When the Mon Cal ship came into view it felt like a weight had been lifted off his chest.

Alexandra Feanor

The Lady in Silver/Grey Historian
Alexandra smiled when [member="Noah Corek"] had come to her side, speaking to her and making sure that she was ok. Alexandra was physically fine, with exception of her sight, but this situation felt a bit familiar as she stood there and spoke.

"Im fine Noah, just... everything about this situation feels off."

Alexandra looked back at @reverence, listening as a witness read off seeing him kill dozens on Corellia, speaking about how his actions led to wide spread destruction and how so many had lost homes, families, and their own lives to him. There was still a long line of evidence and witnesses, each to testify but at this point, the jury seemed already certain of how they would rule. Alexandra could feel their disgust for the man and she looked at the man knowing that what chance of a fair trial was slowly being eroded as the witnesses and prosecution played on the emotions of the Jury.

Reverance's own defense tried to sway the opinion back but defending that monster was proving difficult and at this point he seemed more focused on downplaying the sentence and trying to save that demon's life. She wanted to know what was going on in Reverance's mind, staring at him before turning her eyes back on [member="Beth Cadera"] and smiling at her.

"I have my own reasons for being hopeful, this man had ruined my life long ago... but he still deserves a fair trial. I won't wish on him what was done to me." She stared again at Reverance before catching Noah's look and following it to the young woman that sat there. For a few Seconds Alexandra looked at the woman, recognizing something familiar and testing something as she spoke. It cant be the case that what she was thinking was true.

"Though, I am surprised an old friend isn't here. Solan was someone who even watched after one of my family and felt the impact of what this man had done to me before." Alexandra remained looking at the woman, looking for any hint of recognition as to what she said.

Her attention remained on the trial laid out before her. Yes, yes. The defense of a man who murdered hundreds might be difficult to deny and yet, Sarah was here grinning at how poorly is was becoming. Why did this bring joy to her, to see a man who she hasn't personally met be put to justice for crimes she has only heard him do? No matter the reasoning, a grin appeared on her face. That grin soon faded away though

The mention of the name, Alex, brought her attention elsewhere. Her head tilted behind her to take a glance at who said that name. A familiar name. Her gaze met [member="Noah Corek"], to where she just lightly shrugged it off and moved back to face the trial again. Then Solan was spouted out, and her head was tilted downwards. She was here in his place watching this trial unfold. The rest of what [member="Alexandra Feanor"] stated finally registered in her mind. She frowned then.

"And now I know why that Bastard sent me here, but now I question. Where is that silver haired Echani that I need to speak to?" She coughed a bit, before turning back around to face the trio that sat behind her. She even went as far as to put her knees on the chair to face them directly. Her expression is very straight forward. "I would like to know where she is, because I would want a small chat with her."

[member="Beth Cadera"]

[member="Noah Corek"] came over next, which she gave a small smile and a nod. She chuckled as his comment about [member="Alexandra Feanor"] getting caught up in her work. Beth could understand that – she was busy with school and training and a social life on the side. It was easy to get lost in it all. In either case, it was great to see Noah and Alex. "It is great to see you both, it has really been too long. I think I might bug you guys more," she winked playfully - which... Maybe wasn't the best approach with Alex but hopefully she understood.

Beth gave a small, concerned smile at Alex’s answer. “Then, he definitely deserves whatever happens to him. You are right, no one deserves to lose that right.” She would comment as her eyes drifted back to [member="Reverance"], the man who was likely to be founded guilty for what he did. What he did to Alex, Kaine, and the other people who were injured or murdered. Beth sighed as she thought about it all – nobody could get along in the galaxy, could they? It was always something.

Beth’s eyes widened at [member="Nicole Sarah Feanor"] sudden commentary. What silver haired Echani? Beth nervously glanced to Noah and Alex with a perked brow and her ears just as perked in curiosity. “I’m sorry?” She asked, after a moments hesitation. She seemed... A bit hostile, in truth, but emotions were high at the moment. A murderer was on trial, which could get anybody riled up.

They were greeted by New Republic marines and brought to the force cages their captives were held.

"They were the only three we stunned before the group tried to kill themselves. Looks like they have something to hide," said one of the captain who had joined the group in the brig. Cortez stepped forward and nodded to one of the Darksabers who then stepped to the side of the door at the ready.

"We'll take it from here. A Corellian Vessel will be here shortly to pick us up. Thank you for the escort Yularen." The New Republic soldier looked shocked, his mouth hanging open.

"What do you mean-" the captain took a step forward before the second Darksaber stepped between him and the NR soldier.

"They are a part of a very sensitive Corellian investigation. We'd like the New Republic's cooperation here. After all it was the Corellian Defense Force that obliterated the pirates. I could tell from the laxness of your crew that you haven't seen any sort of combat since we've been in the sector. Its the least you could do for us." The Captain gulped and nodded, stepping aside.

"If you'll excuse us...I have some questions for these two before our ship arrives."

-----------------
In the end the pirates were routed and though several Sith escaped, New Republic troops were deployed to the ground and found that the Sith remnants had made contact with Annexes Imperials and were plotting to overthrow the government of the world. With the help of the Corellian Defense Force the pirates, albeit a distraction, were handled with minimal casualties and injury to civilians and the coup was averted. The only reason the Sith were caught in the first place was because they panicked and attempted to flee the system.

The corellian flotilla left the system victorious, another victory in their new era of military achievement.

Harley gave a small shrug, "well we try to limit who we sell to, but once a ship or tank is out in the market we have no control over it, there is always a very likly chance that our items could wind up being used by our enemies and criminals". Hence why they didn't take responsibility for customers actions, it was common practice among many companies, but more so for him since he was a senator of a Republic Planet. One could very well use certain problems that his products may cause as a reason to discredit his ruling abilities and possibly get him out voted from office.

"Well I hope you have good hunting, and yes, different walks for different lives, not everyone can or should be a fighter, each person has a place and job to do, how is it that the Jedi put it? Balance and that sort of jaz? yes it applies not to just the force but everything". The senators hand giving a small wave to the solider, "I guess I will be seeing you later, and if not, I'll make sure to attend your burial, hahaha". With that Harley began to make his leave, steeping back and hopping onto a transport, looking on as the ground troops and their armor made their advance towards the imperial outpost.

What was lost remained lost the words echoed in her mind she nodded but words did not find their way to her lips. Once again she thought of her family her brother was dead. She didn't know how to deal with that deep rooted pain.

She had to remember though she was not the only one who knew loss. As [member="Duke Kyle DeVoe"] had said many had known loss, some would find solace in proceedings such as these, others would find it in other places, she hoped however they found it it would at least give them comfort of some kind.

But now what of the man on trial, she once again could help but wonder what were his thoughts. She wished she could have a few minutes with him...just to find out. [member="Reverance"]
It was very unlikely they would allow her such a luxury.

She looked about the room then finally rested her gaze on the Duke as they listened to the testimony. Corellia, and the thousands there. She looked around for the one person she knew from Corellia, where was [member="Delila Castillon"] ?

Tirsa , Corporate Sector

night_market_by_jsek_d88c2x1-350t.jpg
Where was Delila Castillon? After a stint in the FWC some could say she disappeared off the face of the 'verse. In a way,she had. [member="Jorus Merrill"] had run an expedition to another universe on a mega vessel called the Gossamer. Ever since then it was taking up jobs with [member="Xin Boa"] , running from one end of the galaxy to the other, getting shot at for the most part. Quite a different life for someone who had been in the military since seventeen. 'Retirement' was odd - not that she would ever admit such to Xin.

They had docked on Tirsa to drop off cargo and look for another job. Typical hauls were long-haul and meant they were in the black for weeks on end. First stop was always a market or something similar, both to restock the Dahlia and sight see.

Skreetch, the lizard-monkey that had adopted Xin was along for the tour, more than likely to steal items for their next trip. She and Xin kept the creature well fed and not wanting for a thing. Yet Skreetch always managed to weasel items back into the ship and into his tucked away hidey-holes.

Passing a noodle bar her eyes caught a screen playing out into the market streets. Eyebrow furrowed as she stopped to watch, clearly a trial on Alderaan. Delila hadn't stepped foot on Alderaan since leaving the FWC - really had no reason. News was slow to reach her considering a nomadic lifestyle. Typically she and Xin were regaled with spacer stories or advice on what hyperspace routes to take and avoid. Nuanced politics weren't exactly discussed at dusty bars and refueling stations.

"Boring!" Skreetch was well...Skreetch and was tired of standing still, scuttling off in the market on his own.

The news story made little sense to her, not familiar with the entire goings on. Wasn't like she could message the Queen herself for clarification. It was something involving Corellia as well....maybe she would have to break down and reach out to her former sister-in-law or ex-husband.

Theo had finally made his way to a spot where he could watch the prisoner [member="Reverance"] . He could hear the charges and the testimony and yet his mind kept going back to a conversation he had once heard between his parents.

As he looked at this man standing there seeming to take it all in detached from all of it he wondered what were the man's thoughts. Was he concerned and just failed to show it? Or did this matter so little that he had nothing to add? Or was it all lies and he thought any moment vindication would be his? Theo just did not know. He began to understand though why his family was pushing him off world to see other places to learn.

Answers he might find, experience he would gain.

Theo for now stood watching the man as questions swirled in his mind.
