Training From a Blademaster

Xavzen shook his arm slightly as he turned to face [member="Krest"], the rock hadn't hurt that much but it was enough that his left arm felt numb and had a stinging pain (a curious sensation), re-evaluating the field Xavzen saw that he had the disadvantage. [member="Krest"] was experianced enough that he wouldn't be able to catch of guard easily and he had more skill in combat that Xavzen. A slow smirk grew across his face, he had an idea.

Xavzen ran directly at [member="Krest"], his lightsaber drawn back to strike hight, but in his left hand this time. As he ran he quickly drew his blaster with his right hand and fired towards the red Zabrak's stomach, 'Show me what you will do' he thought, as he began to centre himself - the first step in his plan.

Krest brought his sword around then in his right hand, pointing the blade at his foe and extending his left arm outwards. His right foot was slide back behind him with his left forward. But as [member="Zavzen Sae'ryx"] got close, the hilt of his sword was brought down, both hands gripping as he would catch the saber along the alchemised metal. Soresu seemed to be the stance, and as the blaster came out the red male turned himself and stepped backwards to the right of his fellow Zabrak to get out of the way of the shot. As Soresu was pure defense, the blade was lifted high above his head, both hands still gripping the blade. Once more his right foot was behind, and his left forward.

With a quick flick of his wrist, Xavzen responded by aiming a rock at his fellow Zabrak's chin from beneath. Again he fired the blaster, this time three shots, left, right and centre in the hopes of catching [member="Krest"] and taking the next step in his plan. Then holstering the pistol he leaped back while switching he Lightsaber between hands again, holding it in the right when he landed.

[member="Zavzen Sae'ryx"] would find that Soresu helped the user reach a meditative state, letting them feel the dangers as they came at them. But even the unexpected were still that. Krest would find the rock shooting up at his chin, causing him to stumble back to avoid it. His sword was used to deflect the three blasts with a quick twist of his right hand, but he was clearly off balance, his right foot slid a bit too far back behind him.

Xavzen stayed back, even as [member="Krest"] stumbled. 'Perfect' he thought. He once again threw rocks at Krest, seemingly as if he just picked them up and threw them in a desperate manner with no aiming, even manipulating his emotions to try and give the impression that he was trying to mask desperation, the only handy thing that Kriffing Hutt had ever forced him to learn, even if it didn't know it had, masking and faking emotions could be the difference between life or death when you were a slave. Speeding up the rocks as they flew while manipulating where they landed was important so he focused carefully. His mask slipped though, ever so slightly due to said focus. Despite this he continued, hoping and praying all the while.

Krest would turn his red body to move around the rocks, focused more of them than his opponent. He wouldn't even notice the boys mask, let alone his slip up. Rather he would focus on his footwork, and keeping his sword level. He wanted to be sure he was ready for what ever could be next.

Xavzen kept up the assault on [member="Krest"], sending rock after rock, boulder after boulder, in a constant stream, always manipulating where they landed and at what speed. After a short while though he stopped, he was closing to his set limit if his plan was to even come close to working. Instead he leaped at [member="Krest"], bringing his lightsaber down in a double handed slash, all the while gathering his focus.

The Zabrak continued his defense. Subtle dips to the side, bringing his blade around to knock away only the ones he couldn't dodge effectively. He was completely within the zone, focused entirely on defending himself, oblivious to the strategically placed rocks behind him. Rather, he brought up his blade to meet the other Zabraks blade, his eyes fixated on the boys. He did not speak, rather set his right foot behind himself to brace against it.

Xavzen flashed [member="Krest"] a cheeky smile over the top of their locked blades, before he lent back, took his left hand off of the lightsaber and let the weapons swing over his head. He then called a thick, but small, branch that was laying nearby to his hand and swung it at Krest's knees. All the while he was still gathering the Force.

[member="Krest"]

Krest blinked at the smile, only to find his sword shoot forward over [member="Zavzen Sae'ryx"] . Off balance, he could do nothing against the sudden stick coming his way. Mostly. He jumped upwards, his feet picking up to tuck under him. He was there suspended for a moment as he tried to send himself backwards with a push of the force, to get away from the child.

Xavzen smirked as Krest jumped, Perfect he purred in his mind as he threw his right arm forward, throwing his Lightsaber towards the trees he had been steadily weakening, guiding it to cut through them all, leaving 2 trees only just standing. He then pushed himself backwards and let the feeling of success roll through him. He then slammed his hands to the ground and roared. He released the Force that he had been building up around him go. He pushed most of it into the ground, forcing rocks that were just beneath the surface to be pulled out and flung them a Krest. The rest of the build up had been released towards Krest. But the wave bypassed him, going instead to the weakened trees, wrapping around them and pulling them down towards Krest, causing the weakened trees to give up the fight with gravity with an ear-splitting crunch.

Xavzen had not come out of this ok though. His muscles were shacking heavily and barely supporting him, his nose and eyes were bleeding slightly. These injuries had been inflicted due to Xavzen over doing himself, using himself as a channel for a large amount of the Force, a lot more than he was used to dealing with. With a tired smirk the pale Zabrak allowed himself to collapse forwards, only just holding onto conciousness the whole time.

If he was victorious depended on Krest's reactions.

Krest turned to dodge the saber, not noticing that the boy had been planning on the trees as a target. Landing on the uneven ground, he'd struggle to get his footing, and notice the trees coming to him. Glancing over his shoulders it would be too late for the Zabrak to dodge. He could only turn. He'd face the trees as they would potentially crush his form. Thankfully, it was through the force that he would resist the smashing, only finding himself fly backwards and hit the ground.

With a slight frown and a groan, Krest would push himself up, grimacing. His quick barrier only stopped his body from breaking, but it didn't stop the bruises and bumps. "Damnit kid.. That really hurt.."

Zavzen let out a slight chuckle at Krest's groan, "You told me to go all out." He spoke to Krest, although he was still face-down, "Well, at least I think you did. Its a bit blurry right now, give me a few minutes." While he had been speaking, Zavzen had been completing the last few steps of his plan. With pain running up his arm he grabbed the knife he had hidden, strapped securely to his right thigh. At the same time he used what little mental strength to throw his still activated lightsaber towards the red zabrak. Just that little trick caused black spots to form behind his eyes and threw off his timing slightly. When he finally forced his pained body to do was last move and jumped towards Krest, intent on tackling him and bringing his hidden knife round to rest on his neck, it was a few second after his lightsaber flew towards Krest. If he had been able to conduct the plan as he had hoped he would of jumped towards Krest when his lightsaber first started to move, praying for a moment of surprise to take advantage of, he was now praying for luck to help him land his last ditch attempt for victory.

[member="Zavzen Sae'ryx"] had done quite more then Krest had expected, but he wasn't going to fall for another trick. As the saber came to him, his sword would come up to catch the saber along its own edge. Without a single moment of hesitation as the boy jumped in he would find himself caught in a grip if he couldn't resist, the red Zabrak holding up his hand. It wouldn't be painful, but it would suspend him.

"Don't push yourself so far."

Chuckling Zavzen bowed his head in respect. He had been beaten, outclassed and as such Krest had just completed one of the ways to get Zavzen to respect people on a professional level.

"You win." He muttered, suspended in the air. "You win." He repeated before he stopped fighting and let unconsciousness take him. His last thought was of how much he still had to learn.

A few hours later Zavzen jerked awake, still hurting and tired but rested. Looking around he spotted his lightsaber next to him and the red skinned Zabrak he had lost to sitting opposite him. With a cheeky grin Zavzen asked, "You got any food, Master?"

Krest had two loaves of bread resting on some leaves in front of him. He relaxed, his hands holding him up behind him as he waited for his apprentice go stir. And he did. With a grin, he'd motion in front of him. "Here, have some."

[member="Zavzen Sae'ryx"]

"How do you feel about using a solid blade instead of that saber? I can teach you how to use it rather well." Krest kept sitting, his arms crossed over his chest as he spoke. Blue eyes kept on Zavzen, unblinking.
