Training Carrying over?

[member="Warren Century"]

I'd say it highly depended on what it is you're wanting the person to know, whether they're a FU or NFU and how they were given a material, sentient body.

You have to remember that a lot of things in regard to combat depend upon the physical capabilities of whichever body it is. Lightsaber combat requires a lot of agility and dexterity; some of the forms require strength, others the Force and acrobatic ability. If the body has never been trained in any of these things, then it won't automatically just magically be able to do them.

I'd recommend doing at least some training to adjust to the new skin, as it were, and build them up to a point where they could once again do as they once did. A droid is far superior to a human in that regard: they're as strong and skilled as they're built and programmed to be.

But for lightsaber specifically, I'd say it wouldn't. Because lightsaber training is about familiarity. A new body destroys that. Especially going from a 'droid' body to a 'human' body. One feels, the other doesn't. One can tire, the other doesn't.

You'd be starting from square 1.

If it's any consolation - It can be a fun thing for roleplaying purposes, and a great character flaw.

You get to play out knowing something but then the body failing to follow through, so you can appear overconfident, or under confident if you start to doubt yourself, even reckless if you try something that you have no way at all of pulling off, thinking it'd be easy.

No, but you would have a certain academic familiarity with saber combat which would probably help you in future. For example, Vader lost most of his body, got a refit and had to re learn how to fight and move.
