Teroch Gra'tua wasn't normally the kind of mandalorian to show off, especially in this kind of environment, but his brothers' personality seemed to be rubbing off on the slightly older man, so while everyone -including Teroch- was checking their equipment, the mercenary removed his sidearm from its holster before starting to spin it for a few short seconds, looking at the other occupants of the shuttle as he did so. Re-holstering his sidearm, Teroch now grabbed his submachine gun and the silencer that belonged to it, quickly taking this time to check and equip the more advanced weapons and armor systems, as even though combat was not the main objective, there would most likely be no time to fix any major problems if something happened and combat ensued.

Despite Teroch's main plans being to help out in training the locals of Elom, another "objective" was to test out the exoskeleton that accompanied his durasteel armor, which was visibly showing on the outside of the armor, something that would be fixed if this test was successful. Placing his now silenced submachine gun on his back, the mandalorian grabbed the balaclava that was hanging from his right hip, drawing it over his head after pulling his hair back from his face. Slamming his right hand twice onto his left shoulder pad, Teroch grabbed hold of his vest before pulling it foward slightly, revealing the button to power on the exo, and with a slight click, the mercenary was nearly as strong as a Wookie, among a few other advantages. Finally, the mando would grab his face mask, slowly pulling that over his head also, fully completing his set of armor.

"Only if you promise to lie about how dashingly handsome I am. Can't have that old man over there having all the fun"

An easy nod to Strider, to show a gleam of a joke, as if nothing had changed. Nothing had happened, said that voice. But there was a darkness cast in his eyes, bags under them and hollowed look to his cheeks that spoke of him just not being very well at all, and begged for questions to go unasked and unanswered. Indeed he seemed almost weak and emaciated, if the suit portrayed his form accurately. Like a long distance runner on a poor diet plan, his muscles were tense, outlined like corded steel all throughout his body, and not nearly the mass as before. He shrugged off the bandolier containing his weapons and let it rest on the ground, assuming a strange almost anatomical position, arms down, palms out, feet straight out to either side and legs shoulder width apart.

With that, Ijaat closed his eyes for a moment and seemed to zone out. There was no perecptible reaction from him for several moments, then his jaw began to rictus, and he bit his lower lip as what appeared to be liquid metal oozed out from the strange golden sheath he was covered it. It flowed almost like merucy would, covering him before pooling and expanding in some areas and contracting to reveal the gold suit underneath in others. In the end, the result was a rather comprehensive suit of armor covering the mandalorian, that looked almost similar to his previous suits, but gleamed metallic even where the suit was white instead of coppery-bronze in it's coloring.

As it settled, a muffled sort of gasp broke through the man as the metal seemed to roll back from his face, revealing a sweaty, pale skin to it and he held out his arms, not betraying a hint of the absolute agony the process had brought him, except if one were to notice the tic in his eye and the way that his legs trembled slightly. To all appearances though, he had just summoned a suit of mandalorian armor from nowhere but within his own body. Clanging his armored fist to his chest plate to show it was indeed solid metal by virtue of the noise alone, he held out his hands in waitin for the younger mandalorian to come to him.

"Let's go see what we can see, eh?"

The march back to base was uneventful. By this time the militia recruits had been hammered into a form of physical necessity and their discipline had been taught the hard way. The only way Muad did things.

Chuckling at how far they had come he barked an order and they double timed it the last leg back to base. As the aspiring soldiers went in search of food before passing out Muad hit the shower.

Leaving his small tent he wore his standard brown tunic and trousers with his boots underneath. He pulled on his leather jacket and flipped the red hood up over his face before leaving the base for the city.

Several klicks later he strolled down one of the streets until he came upon an establishment promising gambling, good booze, and great fights. He pulled a death stick from a pocket in his jacket and a snap of his fingers lit the end. A deep pull and an exhale of deep blue smoke preceded him through the doors.

A fighting ring was in the back while a bar wrapped the entire perimeter of the room. Upstairs were the cat calls from working men and women which mingled with the low roar from the den of inquiry.

Muad grinned as he ordered a bottle of Wyren's whiskey and took a glass and the bottle to a high stakes game of sabacc. Hours stretched as hands were played and dealt. Muad win more then he lost. The sabacc pot was already massive when he joined and now it was enormous.

Smoke swirled around the room as Muad and one other played intently. Already the two men had traded small fortunes but both wanted the pot laying tantalizing in the center of the table.

Muad's card shifted giving him a negative 23 which would win the game and the pot. But even as he prepared to stick then in the interference field they shifted again. The idiot, a 2, and a 3 looked up at him.

With a grin he tossed then down. The idiot's array not only trumped all other hand but also won him the pot that both had been vying for.

The other man through down his cards showing positive 23 and stormed off cursing while Muad collected his winnings and moved to a different table pocketing his bounty. Pausing he looked over a deed to a mountain which boasted a huge deposit and already had several mining camps on it.

Chuckling at the odds he commed a vod to pass on the news of ownership for the vode.

"I'm not a miner, it's yours lass."

Then he sent the coordinates of the mountain to [member="Anija Ordo"] .

Siobhan listened in silence while Anija, not interrupting until she had finished. It sounded like a training session had really gotten out of hand. On the other hand, a practical part of Siobhan could not help think that Anija might now become the stronger for it. Mentalism could be very nasty and many Sith were awfully fond of mind rape, so it was perhaps for the best that she got experience with it in a training setting and knew what to expect. What did not kill you made you stronger.

That did not make the scars any less realor painful though. "I understand what you mean, Anija. Being assaulted in your mind is an awful thing to go through. I'm just glad you didn't experience such a thing in actual combat with a Sith. Who exactly were you training with? If I understand you correctly, he yanked an awful memory forward and hurt you with it. Is it still afflicting you? I have a good friend who specialises in memory repair, [member="Mirien Valdier"]. She restored my memories after a battle with a Sith on Alderaan left me partially amnesiac."

To elaborate, Siobhan had temporarily forgot everything that happened in her life since resigning from Protectorate service. "She and [member="Coryth Elaris"], a Jedi who's a close friend of mine, can also help you improve your mental barriers. They did the same for me. I've...had my share of mind rape experiences." Unspoken but probably obvious was the fact that hers had not been in a training setting.

She had been living here for months at a time for how long? Her memory was numb at times she only knew one name and it haunted her night after night. She remembered traveling, she remembered suddenly being somewhere else along with millions of the dead. She had seen her mother such an odd thing to talk with a mother long dead, she had caressed her cheek and told her how proud she was of her.

She walked her legs stiff her arms hurt but still she knew this place. A stone outcropping and the denizens of the desert that moved within a rhythm that she couldn't relate to, she felt outside of them. Satine finally crouched down she looked up there were ships coming in. She thought of turning back but there was this gentle pull that told her to keep going. When would the pain stop.

Who did these ships belong to? Why were they here now after so long? It had been a few years she had marked the time with a single rock drawn line on the wall of the cave she lived in.

Chills were racing over her flesh as she tried to think how far was the distance between her and them. She hesitated until she could know who they were.

Droids were beginning to unpack the prefab shelters. It would only take a few connections for them to be fully built. " Lets go, get these crates unpacked. You three." he pointed to the three medical droids." Get out there and assess the villagers, begin doing what you can until the shelters are built. I want everything up and running within the hour, or I'm selling the lot of you to jawas." He tried to keep the laughter out of his voice as he yelled at the droids, they were the most efficient group he had worked with since he had left the Republic marines. They worked quickly and smartly, building each small structure before moving on to the next. None of the buildings were very large, but each one could house a family and keep them sheltered and warm.

He glanced over at the villagers and he spotted Ana with a small child, searching through a pile of rubble. The smile on his face grew even wider as he watched, both of them moving the frubble carefully Ana's face was soft yet serious, whatever it was that she was doing, she had put all of her focus into doing it. turning to the droids one last time he made his way over to the villagers and the man that was obviously in charge. "Sir, I'm Orick T'ane. the droids should have everything up and working within the next hour or two. The medical droids are going to assess the condition of your people, they can handle everything short of major surgery, but should that be needed we have a fully functional hospital that should be up and running very soon, if it's not already. Once things are set here we will head off to the next village to help them as well. We are leaving a group of labor droids and the three medical droids here to help you recover, consider them a gift." the smile never left his face and he was trying to be as friendly as possible. He knew that shock often times left people weary of outside help, so he was trying to be as much a calming presence as possible.

People that had nothing often lost all hope, especially when the galaxy seemed to always turn it's back on them, Orick had seen it on a dozen worlds. Watching hope return to the eyes of those that had none was always a sight worth experiencing at least once. He was looking at it again today, the hope that there was a future for his people, the idea that they might actually survive long enough to rebuild for the last time almost brought the chief to tears. " You cannot know how much this will help. We can never thank you enough."

Smiling, Orick held up his hand before the chief could get any farther, " You don't have time to stand here and thank me, chief, you have a village full of people to tend to. I have several crates of rations bars as well, they aren't the best tasting thing you will ever eat, but they have all the vitamins and nutrients that a body needs as well as the calories to get your people healthy again." He took the man's hand and gave it one solid shake before he turned to wander to where Ana was standing with the little girl. He stayed back a few meters, just watching as they continued their digging.

She took a deep intake of breath, steadied her nerves as she clasped her hands to his, and released the captured air. She was unsure how he would drive them downward through the darkness and narrow passage way, but she had made the leap of faith; trusting him to ensure that both would make it down safely. Besides, if they crashed and burned on the way down; at least she would die doing something she thoroughly enjoyed. And with a handsome man.

The last thought struck her odd. She had never given into romance, love, or even saw herself as a mother or family girl. As a young girl, she was known to her friends and those her older brother Lugus as a tomboy. She didn't fight girls, she fought boys; winning some and losing some. While her friends were busy playing with dolls, gossiping about boys, or doing girly things; she was out there playing war games with the boys, playing sports with the boys, and getting into all manners of mischief with the boys.

Yet, here she was practically throwing herself at this man's feet. A man she knew absolutely nothing about. A man who wore living armour. A man who was willingly to go into the depths of the unknown, to face an unknown enemy strength and laugh in the face of death with her.

Mentally she slapped herself, telling the tomboy to pull it together.

"I'm ready. Let's do this!"

Ijaat grinned again, an easy smile, and easily drew the woman to him like dancing, winking a bit to Strider, though, again, the smile would seem hollow to those who knew him. Someone going through the motions of life because he had just forgotten how to do anything else but go on, and couldn't bear the darkness at the end anymore than the darkness in the middle. There was a slight whine as he pulled the shotgun at his side from it's sheath and pulled back both hammers on the sonic blaster, setting it to charge to full.

"Adios old man, you can have the prunes if we don't come back."

Arm around the waist of the woman he had just met, he closed his eyes as the metal rolled back over his face into a fiercely angular jaw and typical 'T' visor. There was a humming and suddenly they were taking up off to hover just above ground, repulsors in the feet and veins flowing from the back like gossamer wings as they lifted up and then slowly descended down into the crag, Ijaat's visor lighting up as his nightvision activated and he swept the surroundings until they began to loose light from above. Immediately sensor scans swept out, and weapons formed along the arms of his free left arm, seeming to assemble with only a deep grunt from him to herald their arrival.

"Hnnn.... Right, weapon out and ready.. If you can't see, let me know, i'll light it up, what are we goin for dear? Drinks and dinner, or drinks and breakfast?"

The shots were going off and Basaba gave a small pound of her fist into the face of one of the mercs who had jumped onto the transport. A sound of cracking bones under the beskar fist while she was driving and hearing more arrive. A worthwhile time before stopping the transport as she opened the door and her sister climbed into the driver seat keeping up her assault with grenades and missiles. Basaba stared down he man as the sight appeared from her helmet and she had the shoulder cannon firing. Her beskad coming out and she slashed into the chest of one as the forearm shield activated deflecting shots. [member="Ijaat Akun"]

<<<"Good enough for me. I'm Kad Tor by the way. If we're going to be working together names are important.">>>

Kad led to where the injured were and started going through them. The RMSU was half way finished at this point. Emergency and Triage were up and near functional. By the time Kad had the list of importance together, the faculty would be ready to start treating patients. In fact, Kad had pushed one at the crew right away.

<<<"The goal is to move quickly, but efficiently. You're never in a rush to miss something. The more we diagnose here, the easier it is for the medics,">>> Kad explained in basic.

Not everyone spoke Mando'a so he didn't assume. His basic was very good, and a great language to use in this setting. With instructions given, Kad began to go through more wounded. Most were not serious, and he moved quickly. Scrapes, bumps, most treatable later, few were serious enough to warrant immediate bandaging, but Kad was efficient, and if he needed to, the force was employed to stabalize.

It was making his rounds that led to something he did not expect, a very familiar face. Kad froze. Once he got over the shock, he kneeled down beside the disoriented woman, and could tell she may or may not be able to communicate. He tried anyway.

<<<"Satine, Satine, are you alright... It's Kad Tor. Can you hear me okay?"

Kad quickly jumped over to a secure comm frequency the TorDetta's only used for the clan.

Saved.

Well, that was unexpected. A huge sigh of relief escaped Triams lips as she took her hands off the controls for a minute. Whelp. Now what? She was in safe hands alright, Mandalorian hands. She could trust Mandalorians, more or less. At one point her best friend was a Mandalorian, and he had gained quite the reputation since, though their status as friend was... "It's complicated". Additionally, about six years ago she had made quite the profit off of one Captain Larraq.

"Oppm Dis Doar!" The muffled yelling of Crol H'hurut resonated through the door he was impatiently banging on. Scoffing, Triam yelled at him to shut up as she slammed the button that opened the door to the cockpit. "So what happened? The engines fixed?"

"Crol... how the kark are the engines supposed to be fixed? I've been in my captain's chair the entire time." Her eyes deadpanned the red old man.

"Don't care. What happened?" He said gruffly.

"Mando's saved us with Tractor beams. It was a pretty narrow save too." Triam began to turn away from Crol, in order to finally message her rescuer.

"Mando's? Huh." Grunting, the satisfied punching bag walked somewhere else. Triam picked up the holocom and began to speak.

"Attention, this is Captain Triam Akovin of the Junk'd Up Ship. Thanks for saving our asses, it might take a while to repair our vehicle, but in the mean time, we can lend a hand in whatever it is you might need. I've got all sort of stuff I could let you guys borrow, anything from my services, to weapons, gadgets, simple droids, or next-generation mining equipment. Plop me down wherever, and we'll call it me thanking you good people. Always love a Mandalorian." Hopefully, she had something to do. She'd rather not sit around doing nothing with Crol.

Lilin followed Kad to the injured while thinking about what could have awaited her. Blood and gross wounds were not new to her, she was also not new to nearly dead people, all of that due to the fact that she was responsible for the deaths of a few people. But that did not matter, because she was there to aid the Mandalorians, not fight.

She took a look at the injured and sighed.

The work that needed to be done with a few were easy, practically just some first aid and then they'd be better. But a few were truly bad and needed some serious help. Lilin was not a doctor, she couldn't perform operations on them. But she knew somebody there must have been able to do that, so she directed the few to the right places.

The girl took her backpack off and took a deep breath in before she would start working on a few injured people. It was going to be a difficult day. A day full of work and a lot of blood, she guessed.

There were few things that one of her kind could go and do for a planet. But providing a venue of aid was certainly one of them. Arceneau Trade Company was by far known as one of the more proactive conglomerates to lend humanitarian aid.

The local Merchant fleet of the Trade Queen would approach the planet. They were were to provide help to Elom's settlement, along with a measure of protection that they could provide.

The local ATC representative would oversee these events, Vsyer Awr, a Muun with a savvy sense of business acumen. This would be the local point of contact for any seeking to interact with ATC.

Elom was nothing more than a fuel stop. At least that's normally what comes to mind initially. The planet had nothing really of value - from a business sense he supposed - and really, not much than some backwater planet near old Mando territories. However, as chance would take it, Micah knew well that 'just a fuel stop' could turn at the drop of a saber 'fight the sith', so and older and much wiser - not that Kai believed it - he would stare warily as he would process his refueling.

A yawn escaped, then a scratch of his prickly patchwork jaw came next. He would run his fingers through the dark mop of his hair, brush the umber forelocks from his face.

Man, he was hungry...

The ground beneath her began to distance itself from her feet though she barely even noticed. Her mind was elsewhere, primarily on the man's arm around her waist. Mentally she snickered to herself. Her Brother had told her numerous times that one day a man would come by and sweep her off her feet. Looking down at the ground, the irony of the situation was not lost on her. This week had been more exciting to her now than it ever had been in her life. First flying a Basilisk War Droid and now hovering above the ground by repulsors radiating out from the soles of his armour. She took a look into the hole again and sighed.

"All I have is glow sticks," she replied. "In my haste to get out here, I missed my chance to get my Initiate armour. So yes, shine a little light on the subject."

The darkness, in a quick blink, had gone extinct, replaced now by a light that beamed itself all the way to the cavern's ground floor. Judging by all the debris that laid around and the sharpened and jagged edges protruding from the sides of the walls, it was a good thing she didn't try to climb down solo. The glow stick she had previously used betrayed her. The armour, or lack there of, she was wearing would never live up to Mandalorian standards, but even she thought that one slip of the foot or one hand faithfully misplaced would result in a nasty tumble; and no manner of armour would would protect them from the walls broken teeth.

The ride ended quickly, more quickly than she would have liked. She stepped out of the man's arms, smiling to herself. Then she slapped the side of her head, reached in a pouch and grabbed a small torch; quickly assembling it on the barrel of her blaster rifle. Again, she was well uneducated on how Mandalorian armour worked but eventually the man's suit would run of power if he kept his headlights on high. Right?

"Drinks and breakfast," she answered while peering down the tunnel, spying all the nasty places where ambushes could be set up. She may not know how to be a Mandalorian, yet. But she knew warfare and tactics. And this smelled like ambush.

"Sarli. Sarli Ra-Suutar," she announced over her shoulder as she began walking down the tunnel.

...the last time he'd heard the name Strider Garon it was when some thug was trying to punch his teeth out with a colossal meathook. Maybe Andras should be thankful because he'd gained control of a small Import/Export business in the process but he didn't feel grateful. Actually his jaw was still a tad sore and he might have been sporting a cut above his eyebrow where one of the goons beating him had torn him open a bit. No big deal though because wounds healed and chicks dig scars...

...the YTA-1300 Light Freighter dipped into the atmosphere of the planet. Andras reclined at the helm as he occupied the cockpit. Transmitting security clearance to nearby Mandalorian vessels he'd have let them know he was a friendly. Elom wasn't the prettiest planet he'd ever seen but who was complaining because there were plenty worse...

...the rumor was that [member="Strider Garon"] could be found in the A'driannamieq Mountains near an Elomin Settlement which meant that is where Andras was heading. The Dark Horse was looking forward to laying a heavy hand upside the jaw of his cousin for all the trouble he'd put him through...

As Anija listened to Sio, she nodded quietly and sipped at her water. It wasn't netra'gal, but just sitting and talking was helping her to focus better. "It was...Draco Vereen..." she said softly. "He joined the Protectors and the Mandalorians not long ago. "he' asked me out to spar with him, and teach him a few things. He didn't specify as to the why, really." She sighed, and rubbed carefully at her face, which still showed healing burns across her forehead. The burn marks were about the size and shaped of a human fingertip.

She tried not to think about it. "From what I can tell, and things he's said.... he lost control. He's been trying to hold his emotions in check for weeks, Something to do with a missing mate or lover, I think. he'd been trying to hold it in... and something about the sparring... it just shattered his control. All his rage and anger was aimed at me. I think he somehow had begun to think that i was the one who had killed her. Rage does funny things to people.." she said softly.

It was around this time that Anija's comm chirped for attention. As she read the message, Her eyebrows rose. [member="Muad Dib"] had secured mining rights to a mountain in the nearby range. And he even had the deed to prove it. How he got it, she had no idea. But, she was very curious. Something to ask about later, perhaps. As long as he hadn't killed anyone to get it. But... she didn't have that sense about it. They all knew the mission parameters here.

She finished reading and turned back to Sio... just as her comm went off again. This time it was [member="Triam Akovin"]. The freighter pilot she'd help rescue in orbit. If the message was reaching her here, it was because her comm techs were routing it to her. "Captain Akovin. Marshal Ordo. Your offer of help is greatly appreciated. While your ship is being repaired, if you like to assist us in our efforts, we could use some help mining some of the Lommite. One of my people has secured mining rights and a deed to a mountain near here. If you need more manpower, I do have a crew of Hyperion Mining personnel on their way to that location as well."

Glancing up from her search she could see the little girl searching hard for her teddy bear determined to find him. The little one reminded Ana of herself in a way. She was a tough little cookie. Once they found her bear Ana hoped to find her parents or if not a family member so the little girl had a chance to move forward and have a happy childhood.

Smiling lightly Ana went back to the pile that she was digging though. There was no bear however she was finding burnt up pictures, trinkets, broken mirrors and furniture. It was just stuff though which could be replaced. It was your loved ones whom were important. She understand though how the little girl took comfort in the bear.

After coming up empty handed in the first pile Ana sighed lightly as she stood up to look around the rubble to decide where to search next. She spotted a few toys in the corner and began to head towards that direction but spun in the opposite direction as she heard the little girl. "Help!"

It didn't look as if she was hurt but instead pulling on something stuck under a piece of the roof. As Ana got closer she could see that the girl's hand was on the bear's arm. "Teddy is stuck!" The little girl cried pulling a little on the bear again.

"Its too heavy," she stated as she stopped pulling and looked to Ana pointing to the issue. Wrinkling her nose the little girl sighed and hung her head to the ground. "How about we work together. I lift up the heavy thing and you grab teddy." Looking up the little girl nodded her head as if unsure but willing to try.

The piece of roof wasn't heavy to Ana but she could see how it would be for the little girl. As she lifted the girl grabbed the bear and hugged it tight to herself. Setting it back down Ana picked the little girl up so they both could get safely off the piles to where Orick was watching. "Come on let's go get you some cookies." She smiled setting the girl down and taking her hand.

"How is it going? I was going to find her family. Want to come along, meet some of the locals?" Ana could only hope she had family.

While Kad went to interact with the volunteers that had showed up and to help organize them, Briika went back to her duties of supervising the set up of RMSU #1. Triage, Emergency and the medical exam rooms were first to become fully functional, then ICU & OR followed by the ancillary services such as the lab, X-ray, pharmacy etc. The last to be set up would be the short-term shelter, food service & fresher facilities that could be used for those displaced residents to shower, get a hot, nutritious meal and a place to rest out of the harsh elements of Elom until other arrangements more permanent could be made in the settlement itself after reconstruction efforts by the Corps of Engineers got some safe housing set up.

Briika was helping deploy a connecting tent between two of the structure containers when an urgent comm call came from her vod'ika over their private aliit frequency.

< "I'm on my way," > Bree replied, then moved quickly to where the GPS on her HUD told her where Kad was located.

The baar'ur knelt down beside her brother and pulled out her medpac scanner to run it over the disheveled and seemingly dazed woman, not recognizing who it was at first, then it hit Bree like a ton of bricks. OMG… She removed her buy'ce to look into the eyes of her brother in law's cyar'ika before the rapture.

"Satine… This is Briika Detta, Nolan's sister in law. I'm going to give you some medicine to help you. You're safe with us," the blonde Mando'ad said in a comforting tone, then quickly prepared a hypospray and gave it to the Mistryl Shadow Guard, which should help her to be more coherent.

"Kad'ika… Get a message to [member="Nolan Detta"] asap. He'll want to know we found her."

The thought if Satine was still alive, could her own riduur who went missing after the rapture be out there somewhere too lost and alone still? It was always in the back of her mind, though right now this wasn't the time nor place to muse upon it.

"Lets get Satine back to the Rimsoo so I can further evaluate her."

<<<"On it,">>> Kad said pulling his buy'ce off and clipping it to his belt. His eyes closed and he focused on Satine for a moment. With some struggle, she levitated off the ground. Shock was a real concern, and with no gurney, Kad had to improvise. "I swear I am never going to get used to this..."

Kad flashed his sister a grin as he walked Satine toward the RMSU. Looking to Lilin, Kad smiled as he paused for a moment.

"Briika, this is Lilin, Lilin, this is Briika. She is the one in charge of this unit, and any medical decisions you can't call, she can. Briika, Lilin here is lending a helping hand, and doing an excellent job helping to triage. I don't know how she found us, but she has been very helpful."

He continued on after the introduction, and got Satine laid down on a gurney as soon as he could. Once, that was set, he nodded back to Briika as he typed a message to [member="Nolan Detta"] in regards to Satine. This only made Kad wonder if Ral was out there somewhere. He could only imagine what Briika was thinking. Here she had been entertaining the attention of a vhett and now here was Satine, someone who had been considered a victim of the rapture event. Kad pushed all the thoughts aside and returned to the work at hand.
