Outer Rim Territories, Wild Space;
Lamaro system, Lamaredd.

Deep within the frozen wastes of Lamaredd laid the ancient lost Sith Temple. During her expeditions as an Inquisitor to the Galactic Empire, Darth Vupua had discovered the temple in search of knowledge. What she had found was a husk of dark side power, emptied over the centuries as the Sith moved on and forgot about what they had once built on Lamaredd. But for Vupua, she had a scheme in mind, to which the temple itself could prove most useful; The Tournament of Heresies, a gathering of potential Force-strong individuals who would come forth to lay claim to the position of a Sith Apprentice, to which Vupua would bestow upon all her knowledge and power until the day came that she could teach them no-more, and upon that day, one of them would die.

Six would come to Lamaredd, but only one would be named the victor. Resting in the center of the Sith Temple, where Darth Vupua waited as well, was the Sith Holocron of the ancient Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Andeddu. To win the title of Sith Apprentice, and to lay claim to the Holocron of Heresies, the six Sith Acolytes or Knights would have to compete to make their way to the center, navigating the dangers of the temple, whilst at the same time, fighting one another along the way. It would be a test of their ability to survive, as well as their strength, powers and cunning. Only the strongest, most powerful and smartest would be able to navigate the temple itself, avoiding all that Vupua had prepared to test their resolve, whilst undermining the efforts of their opponents. It would truly be a test.

The first of these tests would be for the Sith to navigate the hyperlanes which led to the Lamaro system. Upon arrival, they would discover that Lamaredd itself was under invasion from Star Destroyers bearing the emblem of the Galactic Empire. Their instruction was clear: arrive on Lamaredd at the co-ordinates given by the Sith Lord Darth Vupua, without the Empire's forces becoming aware of their presence on the world.

~
Welcome to the Tournament of Heresies.
Your test will be conducted upon the backwater frozen wastes of Lamaredd, currently under invasion by the Galactic Empire.
You will make your way to the co-ordinates provided, which shall lead you to a forgotten Sith Temple.
There, your test shall begin.
But first, you must avoid the notice of the Empire's forces whilst you make your way en-route to the Sith Temple. To accomplish this will be a test of your intelligence and cunning.
There are no rules when it comes to the tournament; victory knows no bounds.
Vupua.
OOC: Good luck everyone, have fun. I will be DMing this thread from the gecko. Please keep it civil OOC.

Unknown Hyperlane,
En Reoute Lamaredd

Ardyti was alone. The emotion he felt was not an unfamiliar one, nor an unwelcome one. It welled up within him, eager to escape from the clutches of his mind, which was ever suppressing his non-beneficial feelings and replacing them with those which would advance him on his quest for power. However, this time the apprehension he felt chipping away at him could not be pushed away or quelled by the promise of the awards this tournament would grant him. Drios was afraid. Afraid of what? He did not know, there were a great deal of things to be afraid of when you might be going to your death.

A blue whorl surrounded the ship like an extra-terrestrial whirlpool, leading the Acolyte toward Lamaredd and unbeknown to him (for his mind had been occupied by other things, such as how he would disguise his true intentions) toward the Imperial garrison of Lamaredd.

Drios' ship erupted from hyperspace on the edge of the system, and at once he used the Force to cloak his ship from any prying scanners from the fleet. In his opinion, the Force was a more potent way of hiding yourself than any stygium hull.

"Here we go."

Lamaro System; on the outskirts of Lamaredd

This was the farthest Zayden has been from home, and quite definitely the largest amount of present danger he has witnessed. The fleet of Imperial Star Destroyers in orbit of the icy planet looked like tiny specks at the distance he was viewing them from, but he knew their size and power from the times they would eliminate "criminals" above his home world. He figured that he could disguise his ship as a meteor if he shut down all the systems and let the gravity pull him to the planet... once he got close enough. It was a risky plan, but he really couldn't think of any other way to sneak past the Imperial Fleet. He would just have to be sure that he was out of physical sight of the Star Destroyers. As long as his systems are offline, he figured, the Star Destroyers' scanners shouldn't pick him up.

The only reason why he came here was to seek guidance and help to the power he felt within him. That power was starting to get out of control and he was afraid he might one day lose himself if he never learned how to use it. His anger and vengeance led him to killing multiple individuals that messed with him on his home world. He did not remember killing them, just that he did from the word of his friends. Zayden hopes that this Tournament of Heresies will allow him to learn more of the power churning within him. He also has been looking forward to laying his eyes upon a Sith Lord. He has only heard tales of the might of the Sith, but that was about to change once he made it to the surface of Lamaredd... if he can make it there.

-----

Orbit of Lamaredd

"Well... let's see if this hunk of junk can pass for an asteroid."

Zayden had the throttle on max as he approached Lamaredd so that his speed would be great enough to put him on the surface once he shut down all systems. At this point, he had just entered orbit of the planet. With a fling of his wrist, Zayden put his ship into a hard shutdown. This meant that all of the ship's systems went offline immediately and all he had to go off of was the speed he had built as he approached. Nervously, he kept eyeing the Imperial Star Destroyers in the distance to see if they were suspicious of him whatsoever.

Zayden gritted his teeth as he made it closer to the atmosphere. He realized that he may not be able to get his ship's systems back online in time before making impact on the planet's surface, but the thing was a piece of crap anyways. His concern isn't to leave the planet just yet... he'll think of that once he gets there. Zayden leaned back in his rough captain's seat and harnessed himself in to prepare for an impact... just in case.

Bramhall flew a borrowed ship - a small personal transporter - towards the system. He was traveling towards it by hyperspace and, upon entry, noticed a number of Galactic Empire star destroyers. Was this a trap?, he thought to himself. No. Not a trap. It was a test. Still it was important to get away from the ships. He had two options - rush for the planet or go in the opposite direction. Flying in the opposite direction would get him further away from the temple and give the destroyers more chance to notice him. Going straight down - if flying at a somewhat reckless speed - would leave the destroyers less time to notice him and get him closer to the temple. He chose the dangerous option.

Bramhall flew down into the atmosphere and believed that the star destroyers did not notice him - whether this was true is a question for the future - so he looked for a spot to land. He found a small mountain to hide behind, so pulling back and slowing down he landed and left his ship. He checked his hooped and checked his map. The co-ords were still a few hours walk away. Time to get walking, he thought. He decides to keep a pistol in his robot hand and his sabre in the other to maximise precision on his gun and skill for his sabre.[member="Avedia Lacroix"]

9500-Fury-Class-Interceptor-Game-Cockpit.jpg
Lamaro System not far from Lameredd
Krennic Drakkar, had heard the call of a Sith Lord. He had heard it as if it were a sweet dark lullaby that whispered in his very ears. After wandering the galaxy for ages, he had now found such purpose. Drakkar thought to himself excitedly as he sat in the cockpit of his Fury-Class Interceptor. 'At last...My purpose has arrived.' He had wandered the Outer Rim, and Western Reaches without a clear sense of time or purpose, he had now found such a purpose, a purpose that the dark side was now granting him a second chance, a way to strike back at his enemies with such volatile fury none of the likes the galaxy has ever seen before, but with this message he had received he had needed to travel to Lameredd to find whatever he was seeking, but he had also heard that this would lead him to a forgotten Sith Temple, forgotten was not the word for him as he had known of the Temple during the Dark Age of the Republic, but very seldom visited it. However such a system was still in the nav computer, and so with a new found determination and confidence that he had not felt in such a very long time. It was a newly lit fire that had replaced the one that drove him so very long ago, and so made the promise to himself that he wouldn't fail. He set the coordinates for Lemeredd on the road to destiny and power once more.

Orbit of Lameredd
The Fury emerged from Hyperspace above the frigid world, he saw a fleet of Star Destroyers blockade the world, and so lowered the power of his systems. This tactic that he had used during infiltration missions during the Jedi-Sith War always worked, and so far it had been working. No escort corvettes were sent out, nor even fighters. Krennic looked at the dagger shaped cruisers with disdain, as he grabbed the control yokes to move around the blockade and make its way to descend into the planet nothing but pride and purpose swelled within him as his Sith craft rapidly descended through the bitterly cold and Icy atmosphere. He had nothing but hatred for the fools that dared call themselves an Empire when from studying a few star charts they had only controlled no more than a few systems. They were nothing but a vestige of their former selves, they were nothing like the Sith Empires of Old or even the Sith Lord Darth Sidious they called him from history's massive empire. Soon when he was strong enough they would be nothing but pawns in a larger game to see his enemies fall. No matter none of that matter, as he only focused on the source of the Dark Side aura and Force Signatures that would bring him, and maybe potential rivals here. He was on the road to destiny, and nothing would stop him.

Lamaredd outskirts of the Sith Temple.
The Fury descended slowly on the icy surface. Krennic handling the control yokes carefully, and activating the landing cycle with ease. He made sure he was prepared as he felt the Dark Side even from this distance. He got up and put his hood up, and even grabbed a cane. He knew he would face potential rivals and as a Sith Inquisitor of old, he would put up the facade of someone who was weak and crippled, who had always required help. He had ways of faking an injury and how to walk, as he used to suffer such ailments in the past as a boy till joining the Sith Brotherhood and becoming strong, for it was the way of a Sith to outsmart superior numbers, and skills with deceit, treachery, and manipulation. For he had learned all of this as a Sith Inquisitor and would use this to his advantage. He walked as if he had problems with his legs, and even hunched a little as if he had encountered problems with his spine relying on his cane for support. For good measure, he took his saber from his belt and opened up the cane to hide the saber so he wouldn't be found out so easily. He would make it seem as if he had lived here for a long time and deal with his rivals one by one, as he had sensed other dark siders from orbit.

He had learned many mistakes since the one who dared to call himself Darth Bane came into the Brotherhood, he had fought many battles and was close to sitting with the hierarchy, but Bane knew the weaknesses of the Sith. Something Krennic could not see, unfortunately. And so when the Sith turned on themselves, it seemed that all was lost, but Bane spoke of learning a better path, he spoke of learning the secrets of the Sith Lord Darth Revan. Krennic didn't understand and didn't care to although he was careless and should have paid heed to what he was seeing. This, however, was his folly, and when the infighting began Bane was nowhere to be found, and so likewise Krennic fled into the Unknown Regions till when a Jedi by the name of [member="Anika[/SIZE][SIZE=14px] Nygaard"] hunted him and trapped both he and her in stasis for nearly two thousand years. But this time things would be different as Krennic kept his face hidden and walked as if he suffered disabilities and was merely local to the area around the temple. He walked forward with purpose, using his cane as a support, blending his dark side aura in with his surroundings to keep him hidden and not suspect to the others. It was time for a new beginning.

It was aboard a Phasma Interceptor that the one eyed Kaleesh came to this world. It's stealth was more than enough for the lone Sith to pass by the Empire blockade, or at least it should have. Phar'ra had been sitting calmly in his room, meditating on the future he was about to encounter when an alarm blared over the intercom. Hurriedly he rushed to the front of his ship, the single golden eye glaring ahead.

"Wha' be goin' on."

There was a droid at the wheel, made specifically to pilot the young Sith's ship so he could focus on his meditation before his missions. A tactic that allowed him to hit the ground running when needed. "There's stray turbolasers from the Empires cannons coming our way. Our odds aren't looking very good my lord." There was a frown behind the bone mask Phar'ra wore as he looked up to the lines of green heading his way.

"Jus' do wha'ja can."

The droid nodded slowly as the blasts came in. Phar'ra simply closed his eyes, and a loud crash was all he heard.

The golden eye opened wide as Phar'ra sat up, inhaling sharply with a pained breath. He was in his ship still, but it seemed the droid had forced a crash landing. He cast a glance to the pilot seat, well, where the pilot seat should have been. The droid was gone. With a groan the Kaleesh pushed himself to his feet and stepped out into the frozen wasteland. How far off course was he? He didn't know. What's worse, he didn't know where he was.

He closed his eye once again, and listened. There was the howling of the wind, the distant blaster fire of a war he cared nothing for, and the whispers of the dark. His eyes snapped open as he turned his gaze to where he felt the dark and began the long walk to where he knew the Temple was. Only a Sith Temple could give off that sort of darkness after all.

Upon arrival his arrival in the Lamaro system, a nearby Starfighter escort bearing the emblem of the Galactic Empire registered an anaomly in the vicinity from which Drios' ship had just dropped out of hyperspace. The anaomly was recorded and would be given to their superiors when they returned to base, but nothing was noted as being out of the ordinary, leaving Drios on his business to the Sith Temple without the Empire's knowledge.

Flung towards Lamaredd's surface at high velocity, the Imperial Star Destroyer's Zayden had been worrying about hadn't even noticed him on their scanners. But that was the least of the fledgling Apprentice's problems. He was currently on a treachjory that was taking him towards certain death, and unfortunately, one of his engines had just blown from tearing through Lamaredd's atmosphere.

Fortunately, Zayden had three choices: he could jettison his seat and escape the cockpit of his ship; open the shuttle bay doors and jump; or accept his fate and die. Each were risky, each had their merits, considering the first two options invited Lamaredd's frozen fist curling itself around him.

The ISV Opium, which happened to be one of the Star Destroyer's that the good Doctor hoped to avoid, had registered the illegal ship coming into the Lamaro system. A convoy of Starfighters were sent to intercept Doctor Bramhall. He would notice that he was receiving an incoming hail from one of the Starfighters, no doubt calling for him to explain his business and to fire down his engines.

Using an age old tactic from a bygone era, the Fury-class interceptor bypassed the blockade to Lamaredd and arrived just outside on the outskirts of the Sith Temple.

| [member="Phar'ra"] |

Unfortunately caught in the crossfire of the battle waged by the Galactic Empire, Phar'ra had crash landed on Lamaredd's planet surface. His ship was completely destroyed in the crash, it was a miracle that he had survived. Ice and razor sharp winds assaulted the Kaleesh as he came to terms with his miraclous survival. Guided by the Force, Phar'ra learned that the Sith Temple was due North-West. It would take a day to walk, if he could survive the icy winds, and if his injuries weren't severe.

There went the engine and his plan of trying to quick restart the piece of junk ship. He really should have considered taking ownership of a better craft, but the price was hard to leave on this one. Quickly evaluating his options, Zayden realized he was able to strap himself into his seat before hitting the atmosphere. Closing his eyes, he let the chaos happening around him transform into background noise. Just a little further and he would jettison himself from his craft, hopefully being at a safe distance where he wouldn't have to wait a long while before making it to the ground. Remembering a saying that a passerby once told him, he decided it necessary to recite it aloud.

"The Force is with me. It surrounds me, protects me, and guides me to my fate."

Whatever that fate would be, well, that was up to the Force... and Lamaredd. Once he made it to an altitude between the surface and the outer atmosphere, he pressed the button to free himself from the crashing craft. Sitting sealed in his chair, he watched as his ship continued to descend towards doom below him. Lucky, he was, that the parachute worked. That was one of his concerns with this specific idea. Now... it was a game of waiting until his chute led him to ground level. During this time, he decided to whip out his datapad and review the map of the area to try and plan the quickest route to the temple.

Confident that the fleet had not picked up on his presence, Drios entered the hostile atmosphere of Lamaredd. At once, the Epicanthix allowed himself to catch his breath as he descended to a couple of thousand feet. The approach to the planet's surface was a slow one, for he required a substantial moment to regain his composure. Force Stealth was no magic trick, and it had exhausted almost every fibre of his body to pull off such a skill.

However, one thing not harmed was his ability to find the temple. The structure stood out through the Force, a sudden absence of Light which drew him into it. A smirk prevailed from the currently steely exterior of Drios as he approached the temple, and only faded a few moments before his transport made contact with the frozen wasteland of Lamaredd. The Acolyte was dressed appropriately; a black wampa skin hung from his shoulders and underneath he bore a thick hide to protect him from the bitter conditions. His lightsaber was already being clutched by a gloved hand as he traversed the spaceship toward the door which would expose him to the planet's surface.

The moment the door opened, Drios was hit by a blast of icy wind, which made him tighten the furs and cloaks covering his body in anticipation of what other natural obstacles the temple would be guarded by. He had landed on the outskirts of the temple grounds, and stone monoliths of ancient Sith Lords were the only barrier between himself and the glory of being pronounced apprentice of the Lord within the temple's walls.
