Black Sun Syndicate Invasion of High Republic-held Sarko VI, Sepan 8, and Wielu
Disclaimer: Per the recent suspension on the rules for Requesting Aide, neither Black Sun nor High Republic are accepting allies at this time. We are, however, welcoming licensed bounty hunters to coordinate in this thread with their targets. Keep your eyes on the Bounty Board throughout the weekend for new Invasion-related bounties, warrants, etc.

There is a name that even the boldest of crime lords pay tribute to. An organization that rivals the galaxy’s strongest superpowers. Two words that carry more than its weight in credits: Black Sun.
You call us a syndicate because you fear the power we wield. Your unnatural resistance to profit and power forces you to fight against us in vain, cutting off one head only to see a dozen more emerge in its place. Like a pack of wolves surrounding a mighty beast, Black Sun encircles you. Bites at your edges, claws at your sides. We weaken you, and when the moment is right, we sink our teeth in.
Your success against us in the Mara Corridor has misled you. The Jedi have returned to their temples, senators to their offices, and soldiers to their barracks. You believe that Black Sun was nought but a dark blemish on the Corridor, a small cancer that was excised.
You are wrong.
The High Republic will be shown the true depths of Black Sun’s wrath.
We are more powerful than a network of gangs and smugglers. More vile than slavers and spice runners. More deadly than a guild of bounty hunters. We own your police and judges. We bought your politicians. We run your banks. We break bread with your allies. We sell secrets to your enemies.
We were always here. Watching. Scheming. Controlling.
And like an eclipse, we will black out the sun.

The Corporate Council of Wielu is a prime example of successful Corporatist governance in the Republic, but make no mistake: a true Corpo can’t ignore the allure of extra credits.
For centuries, Wielu’s tropical climate and pristine beaches have attracted the galaxy’s most influential figures, from senators and nobility to corporate executives and trade princes. Crystal-blue waters, exotic landscapes, and high-class resorts make Wielu an indisputable powerhouse of the tourism industry, a boon that the High Republic enjoys now that the planet rests within its borders… but for how long will they benefit from the cash flow?
On Alekie Island, the Corporate Council meets with a benefactor that appears too good to be true. The First Bank of Nar Shaddaa whispers in their ear, offering exclusive trade agreements with subsidiaries, premium lines of credit, and even private security contracts to ensure all of the above is well-protected along hyperlanes connecting Hutt Space to the Corporate Sector. All they have to do is secede from the Republic, a small price to pay for the staggering economic freedom they will experience as an “independent system” with financial backing from the private sector.
Little do they know, the bankers and investors are deep agents of the Black Sun crime syndicate. Will the Republic dissuade the Corporate Council from taking the deal, or will the Underworld sink its teeth into the idyllic tropical world?

High above Wielu's jungle archipelagos, a vast fleet of ships hang in orbit. Elements of the planet's Corporate fleet, several High Republic Navy Vessels and thanks to dark dealings with the Trade Federation, elements of the Black Sun's pirate fleet bolstered by imposing Lucrehulk-class battleships. Officially, the fleet has identified itself as a "private security contingent" of the First Bank of Nar Shaddaa, the largest banking clan in all of Hutt Space, but the gold and black livery tell a different story: the bankers are in open league with Black Sun.
Despite this, Wielu's Corporate Council is entertaining a diplomatic summit with the bank's representatives, along with representatives of the High Republic due to the ongoing application of membership. Overhead, and so far unknown to the other fleets in the system the syndicate fleet is jamming communications and policing transit to and from the planet.
Tensions are high but the Corporate Council know full well that even if mobilized, the Corporate fleet would not survive a direct confrontation with the clan's battleships. It would fall to the Grand Navy of the Republic to attempt to break any blockade and scatter any naval engagement, but with only a handful of ships they are already stretched thin.

Since before the Galactic Civil War, Sepan 8 has found itself embroiled in several long-lasting civil conflicts. The people, split in ideals between the Dimoks and Ripoblus factions, fight intermittently over resources, influence, and territorial claims across the Sepan system. For a time, peace was achieved… but that peace has a shelf life, and the Sepani have reached it.
Tensions between the Dims and Rips have risen in recent years as the former clings to a populist system of governance, while the latter demands a strong, centralized government. Attempts to maintain decorum in the Sepani legislature are increasingly ineffective, resulting in a ticking time bomb between the two sides. Dimok President Selora Maad-nu welcomes the High Republic’s provisional status levied to worlds suffering from oppressive regimes, though the protections it affords are difficult to enforce while the peaceful Dimok hold majority rule of Sepan.
That is, until the Republic embassy in Sepan City was attacked in a violent coup perpetrated by the Ripoblus militia and their supporters - the Black Sun syndicate. Rip General Karvok Sarrel leads a full-scale battle for the capital. Armed with deadly Imperial armor and weapons, Ripoblus forces have a dangerous upper hand.
A frantic distress call lights up Republic channels, looping a grim message: “The Rips have breached the city! We need the Republic’s aid, NOW!” The voice belongs to President Maad-nu, and the thunderous rumble of Imperial artillery means that time is running out.

During its height, the Order of the Silver Jedi worked tirelessly to resolve civil unrest on Sarko VI. The volatile world found its footing under the Silvers’ guidance, establishing trade networks, attracting investors, and receiving humanitarian aid. Even after the Order collapsed, the people of Sarko persevered, resisting overt corruption and standing on its own two feet as an independent trade world in the Expansion Region.
But no good deed goes unpunished.
Centers of trade and commerce, especially those who stand apart from the galactic powers that be, are perfect targets for hungry agents of the Underworld. Sarko VI was no exception. The longer it remained a neutral trade hub, the easier it became for criminal organizations to take root and flourish. It began with small rackets. Smuggling, profiteering, and fraud were just the beginning. Black Sun’s operation only grew from there, eventually expanding into spice running and poaching. The credits were good, police intervention was sparse, and there were no defense forces or Jedi Orders to shut down the party. That is, until the Planeshift.
Being ripped from its celestial position was an ironic lucky break for the people of Sarko VI, who finally saw the Underworld’s grip weakened substantially. Without access to the hyperlanes that once enabled the syndicate to move their black market goods, Black Sun found its influence on the planet quickly waning. Sarko’s entrance into the Republic was a proverbial nail in the coffin… but all is not lost yet.
If credits are not enough to sway the locals, then fear will do the trick. Black Sun has a plan to eliminate a large force of Jedi and law enforcement agents in one fell swoop, a move that -if successful- will demoralize the government and remind them of who the movers and shakers really are.
A recently apprehended suspect has revealed the location of a major Black Sun operation in the warehouse district. According to the perp, a massive stockpile of illegal contraband is awaiting pickup as the syndicate clears out of the Sarko system. The intel may prove too good to be true, but there’s only one way to find out…
