OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Unit Name: The Toborro War Droid Mark I & II
  • Affiliation: The Hutt Republic
  • Classification: Heavy Combat Droid
  • Description: The Toborro War Droid Mark I & II are the next generation fourth degree droid's designed to support the Nal Hutta Heavy Cannoneers and the Nar Shaddaa Deployment Troopers on the field of battle. They were developed to replace the older hutt cartel droid models currently in service and serve as a replacement to the Xim Guardian Corps Droids that had served the cartel previously with impressive results. The Toborro War Droid Mark I & II are designed to strike fear into the heart of their enemy with their appearance and devastating effectiveness on the battlefield as they are well suited with working with the other regiments deployed by the hutt republic. The Emblem of the Toborro War Droid Mark I & II is the World of Makeb with two crossed cannons on top of it; this symbolized the death of the Supreme Mogul Toborro on Makeb during the Ancient Old Republic Era and where they have gotten their namesake from the ancient mogul. The general mindset of these combat droids is to follow their programming but the special pink mark II version does have semi-independence that allow it to command the rest of the combat droids on the field of battle and make sure that they are following the tactics laid out by the Hutt Republic's Commanding Officers.
COMBAT INFORMATION:
  • Unit Size: Medium
  • Unit Availability: Uncommon
  • Unit Experience: Trained
  • Equipment:
  • Combat Function: The Toborro War Droid Mark I & II are the heavy combat droid units of the Hutt Republic. Designed to be the only battle droid models that are needed for any invasion and their overall functionally on the battlefield make them a formidable enemy for anyone to face. Taking from the droid armies of the confederacy of independent systems and how they programmed their droid for mass wave tactics. The Combat Droids are programmed for more combined arms tactics than simply rushing forward at the enemy in the hope that they are overwhelmed. They are generally well suited with working with and providing protection for armored vehicles and hover tanks that are deployed to the battlefield. They provide support to these armor units in crushing the enemy's attempts to oppose the mechanical advance across the battlefield. They will also be working with the infantry as mobile artillery units as their heavy dual cannons pack a mean punch into enemy's fortifications and front lines. The interaction between the organics and droid forces are sometime difficult has many people have witnessed the devastating effectiveness of droids on their homeworlds in ancient conflicts of the past; but they will set aside their differences to accomplish their objective of keeping the hutt families property safe from foreign invaders.
Strengths:
  • Mobile Artillery: The Toborro War Droid Marks are equipped with heavy cannons for arms that pack a mean punch into the enemy's fortifications. Allowing them to be used as mobile artillery units instead of the more vulnerable stationary artillery that must be defended in the field of battle.
  • Armored Shell: The Toborro War Droid Marks are equipped with heavily armored shell that allow them to survive much more damage than normal battle droid units and results in less casualties among them. Their unique appearance also affords them more protection because they have multiple plates of armor on them to deflect damage away from their more vulnerable joints.
  • Maneuverable: The Toborro War Droid Marks are equipped with more uncompacted form that allow them the ability to move faster than normal for a droid of their size. Allowing them the chance to combat more agile opponents or other smaller infantry units that attempt to engage them on the battlefield while also protecting themselves in the intense warzone that they are operating in.
Weaknesses:
  • Slow Processor: The Toborro War Droid Marks have a critical weakness to them that allows them to become more vulnerable. They have simple programming that doesn't allow room for creativity or thinking outside the box. They are unable to handle any unorthodox tactics due to their processor being slow to respond to these uncommon ways of thinking and will halt for a moment leaving them vulnerable as stated.
  • Joint Vulnerability: The Toborro War Droid Marks have a more loose form to be able to have more maneuverability on the battlefield beyond what there size might suggest. This sacrifice of armor for mobility makes their joints extremely weak and fragile to repeated attacks upon them. Once past their armored shell; a few good hits can leave them unoperational and might destroy them given enough damage.
  • Weak to Melee: Although the Toborro War Droid Marks can use their cannon arms has blunt weaponry if the situation requires it on the battlefield. They are not designed to engage in melee combat with extreme effectiveness. Leaving them vulnerable to military units that have training in that type of combat; a person or group with advanced training in melee combat are able to defeat a number of these war droids on their own.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The Toborro War Droid Mark 1 & 2 are the final concept thought of by the Militaristic Qunaalac Kajidic. Taking inspiration from the galaxy's droid armies and other specialized form of combat droids that the galaxy has fielded; the First Mark I Normal War Droid was put into production using a simple frame and weaponry added to it. Naturally this prototype wasn't as effective in combat as the finished product but it did well against all types of military units thrown at it at the time. The Finished Prototype was put into production after a round of redesign and testing that showed that the droid was a well rounded product that could handle a majority of the task thrown at it on the battlefield. Due to the immense cost of production; the marks only included basic programming to follow a set number of tactics that were fielded at the time; and the first batch was pressed into service as guard droids on Kor Qunaalac. An unfortunate break in at the Main Qunaalac Palace forced the Qunaalac Kajidic to develop the Mark II Pink Model to act as a commander to the Mark I; This model had semi-intelligence and could understand basic orders away from having it be issued to it; but they still had the problem of slow processing due to technological limitations at this time. Once the Mark II and I were finished production; they would be stationed on Nar Shaddaa and Nal Hutta to serve in the Hutt Palaces as Guard Combat Droids until the time came when the Hutt Republic needs a front line combat droid that can mix well with both infantry and vehicles.
