In the violence of an Empire that was under siege from barbarians across all fronts, Krownest was an ocean of peace.

And yet, something was lurking underfoot, a malignant force which was once thought extinguished, now preparing to rise from the murky depths of their enclave in a purported attempt to escape to Mandalorian space. They were barbarians in the midst of civilized society, a blight on the Empire, and the eternal enemies of galactic peace. Up until only a few years ago, her Masters had tolerated their existence, but the stench of their heresy had proven to be too foul to keep around for long, and so they had been purged in short and brutal order.

However, a vermin infestation was never truly culled. The Mandalorians had easily numbered in the billions before the purge. As such, exterminating them required prolonged effort, beyond that of a single decisive battle. The subsequent cleansing operations against their kind afforded the Sister many opportunities to prove her worth. And so, as soon as she was called upon to fight, the diminutive Qilin readied herself to do so.

In sensing the shuttle translate into realspace, the Sister took a deep breath and opened her eyes from her meditation, quickly donning her uniform and equipping weapons before emerging from the small suite she had been allotted for the duration of the journey. Her gaze immediately found the towering figure of the woman who would accompany her down to the surface for the raid, a towering Knight with jet black hair and shrouded emerald eyes. She barely came up past the woman’s knees, but the Sister had grown quite used to such discrepancies by now. Although she was not a talented lightsaber combatant by any means, the tiny Adept had already enraged more than a few of her peers in training by striking their legs, to the point where a running joke had originated surrounding her where one could tell who had fought her based solely on the location of their bruises.

Even so, in a spar with the Knight, the Sister knew that she would be lucky to score even a glancing hit upon the Epicanthix’s long legs. The electromancer had much to learn before she could even approach the power of a Knight and in fighting by the woman’s side, she hoped to glean something from her.

Setting her eyes towards the ground, the Sister lowered herself into a respectful bow before the Knight, then waited until the woman acknowledged her before speaking.

“This one is ready to follow her Lady to the surface.” The Qilin said in a high-pitched, yet distinctly demure voice. “What are your orders, Dame?”
