STRENGTHS
  • + Hive Mind - Those that accept Tiria's offer to Force Meld with her (and the Hive) have access to a considerable amount of knowledge and experience. But this comes with an extreme risk of losing yourself to the Meld and becoming a permanent member of the Hive. Fortunately, you do have to open your mind to the Joining.
  • + Iron Bond - As the first and longest member of the Hive, Tiria possesses an exceptionally strong link with the Overmind in particular.
  • + Confidence - Squadmates have often commented about feeling certain in Tiria's orders given the confidence exuded in her orders. With clarity of purpose and resources at her disposal, it is easy to see why fear, uncertain, or doubt would be infrequent companions.
  • + Indominable - When you attack one, you attack them all. Mind-debilitating effects are rarely as effective as their wielder expects; as the unaffected Hive members contribute their mental processing ability to compensate for the local disruption. Attempts to read the Hive's mind may carry consequences to those that try.
  • + Sustaining - An injured or dying member of the Hive can be revitalized by the whole. They can withstand harsher conditions and continue to function even after sustaining a lethal blow longer than most.
WEAKNESSES
  • - Trojan Horse - If someone with malicious intent and an iron will were to be Joined to the Hive they might seek to influence for their own purposes.
  • - Weakspot - Were the location of the Overmind to be found and slain, the Hive would instantly be jeopardized. Tiria herself given her role might be able to sustain it, but there would be crippling pain and the sensation of unspeakable loss.
  • - Obsession - Over time and from the anguish of hanging on to life, the Overmind has lost sight of the one it holds responsible. However, the Hive is ever vigilent and will strike without mercy against those that sought to slay the Overmind before -- and any that would pose a threat to it now.
  • - Intimidating - Those aware of Tiria's Hive, but not how one becomes part of it, might be incredibly wary of her presence. No one wants to become a 'drone' in a Hive against their will, even if that is not how it works. Just the thought of losing one's individuality can be incredibly frightening to some.
  • - Reliance - Since the Hive connection is through the Force any Force Suppression can isolate a member of the Hive from the group. This would leave them more susceptible to mental attack during the duration of that isolation. It may also reduce their effectiveness in combat since they won't have the knowledge and resources of the others to rely on.
APPEARANCE
Tiria is relatively tall for a Near-Humanoid. Believed to originally be Human, Tiria has underdone subtle genetic mutations over the years as a result of prolonged melding with a creature that possesses a surprisingly strong connection with the Force. Her eyes are able to glow with an inhuman, burning amber light often seen when welcoming a new member into the Hive; while normally she has a pair of deep, emerald eyes. Meanwhile, her dark brown hair is often tied behind her head out of the way, or under her helmet in battle.

While possessing a feminine figure, out of uniform people might be just as impressed by her defined muscles as they are with other, more typical physical attributes. The rigorous training leaves her with less body fat than typical Near-Humans, and a smaller bust size as a result. Tiria does not wear clothing that accentuates her physicality, perfectly content to be wearing medium or heavy armor. Even off the battlefield a goold uniform never hurts, while social occassions still manage to forego little black dresses.

BIOGRAPHY
IN THE BEGINNING...
Fourteen years ago the Reinhart family ship crashed on a relatively remote world off the hyperspace lanes in wild space. The trio were lucky to survive, but found themselves on a relatively barren world. Moderately sized vegetation appeared in proliferation, but there were scarcely any animals present. With the distress signal activated, they decided to explore the immediate area in case they would need food and water while waiting on a passing ship to save them.

What they soon found was a large subterranean creature; one that did not take well to uninvited guests. It lashed out violently at the intruders. They fought to escape, running as quickly as they could, but in the end only Tiria remained. She scrambled to keep going despite the silence from her parents that followed. Scraped and bruised, she felt the creature grab her ankle and send her to the ground.

As it prepared to kill the last of the animals that disturbed its long recovery, a strange thing happened. It heard a faint voice from the creature. Almost imperceptible the desire for it to stop. Curious, it reached out and found Tiria's mind open -- perhaps desperate for it to listen. Rather than just listen, however, it spoke. And Tiria listened.

When the rescue ship arrived, Tiria was found aboard her own ship in surprisingly good health despite having been stranded for over a week on the planet. Alone, they said. The young girl recounted how her parents had perished to a cave in some ways off while exploring.

Tiria's connection with the creature on that planet has never wavered since that moment. Its thoughts are always with her -- they are her, and she it. She would go where it could not. Seek the beast that had set fire to a world -- to her -- and amass the strength to repay them for their attempted murder.

GROWING UP...
Paired with a family happy to take in a surprisingly well-adjusted young girl that'd lost everything, Tiria studied and participated in whatever academic and social event she could. It quickly wore her parential units out trying to keep up with her, but there was no time to waste. Every day was another the monster did not pay for its crime. Every thought, every choice was made to attain their -- her -- goal.

Oddities slowly emerged over time both with Tiria herself and those around her. No one could quite place it. Once Joined to her Hive they had no reason to meet in person. No direct connection could be made. Her own behavior, somewhat emotionally tempered for someone undergoing puberty a possible consequence of her traumatic experience. They sought help, but professionals could not find any direct cause -- none Tiria confessed nor did she believe herself (or the mental presence she'd become) to be a 'concern.'

Inclusion of others into her Hive was slow. Not only to avoid suspicion, but as a result of the need to find people inclined toward Force Sensitivity. There were a surprising number out there, many not even aware of their low-level ability, but it was far from the majority of the galactic population. Some choice candidates were sadly not compatible. The ones she could connect with, however, brought knowledge, skill, and experience that would have taken Tiria lifetimes to acquire on her own. A boon for all of them. One they all believed in without reservation.

There had been a time when one of their extensions had been discovered. Their behavior had been altered too radical to be discounted. It was unfortunate, and took some time for that extension to succumb to certain tests by their captors. Not particularly pleasant memories, but the Overmind was not shaken by the experience. Its vast age and understanding brought peace and purpose the likes of which few would ever truly understand or know.

The loss of one could not impair their purpose. Each extension strove to establish themselves in different places in society to facilitate their revenge. Time continued to pass, however, and Tiria continnued to demonstrate her worth academically and athletically. As much time passed, they positioned themselves for advancement so that when the time came they would be ready to strike and crush their enemy.

RECRUITMENT...
After graduating from civilian academia, Tiria enrolled in the Confederacy Armed Forces Academy. They were a rapidly growing organization with considerable technological and training investment. A group that showed promise and could use more able bodies in their ranks. One that would hopefully not look too closely at Tiria.

At the Academy, Tiria continued her efforts to garner attention through sheer results. Furthermore, more time was also spent socializing than in the past given the importance of making connections with other people. Her efforts to incorporate more members of the Hive became more 'aggressive' during this period as well. Care was taken, sometimes convincing people was necessary or offering the healing benefits of a collective whole enticed, but if a person would be valuable as a member Tiria would seek them out until it became clear they were not a fit, or incompatible.

Tiria's efforts did not go unnoticed, however. Nor where staff as quick to write off the possible reason why a strange sort of synergy seemed to exist between her and others in the Academy. Soon enough a Master observed her work and picked up on the Force Meld connections between the individuals; a connection that didn't disappear once an exercise had concluded.

Drawn aside, they pressed the extensions of the Overmind relentlessly. Tiria was the chosen spokesperson for the Hive once it became clear silence or 'playing dumb' would not work. She explained their connection, its benefits, and how she couldn't force it on any member of the Confederacy that refused. A statement that might otherwise be disregarded except when Tiria pointed out how if it were not true, she would have Joined numerous incredibly powerful members of the Confederacy already.

After some tests and reflection, it was decided to let Tiria remain (albeit she expected them to keep a close eye on her movements). She continued to work hard despite certain elements knowing of her secret. They would recognize her value in due time; perhaps even offer some to be Joined. There were very real tactical advantages to what Tiria offered.

ADVANCEMENT...
In time, she had the opportunity to join the frontline and renown Dauntless. While their ranks were not known for Force Sensitivity, they were the sort of strike force Tiria could use to fulfill her revenge once she identified the target -- the identity of the creature continued to elude her, but members of the Hive worked diligently to uncover it.
