Major Locations:

Staging Grounds
Nestled between the peaks of Tira’s tallest mountains and the dizzying plunges of its canyons is a large region of flat rocky ground that is stable, sheltered, and calm. It is one of the few areas of the planet that does not have hazardous terrestrial conditions like geological activity, crystal spikes, or storms.

"Incredible, the entire planet thrums with the Force. Even so far from home it is alive."
The Spires
A region of craggy rock shaped into razor spines. Here the winds of Tira whip up snow, ice, and microscopic crystals into choking storms that obscure all surroundings. During the whiteouts, glowing crystals wedged between the rock formations provide the only source of illumination, tracing a path through the ice and stone

"Why would Xim's followers choose a place like this?"
The Algae Springs
In the lowest-elevation region of Tira’s surface, intense geothermal activity bubbles up and melts the icy surface, forming hot springs that feed into large, shallow thermal pools. These pools are a haven for simple surface life, including blind invertebrates and bioluminescent algae that glimmer like starlight beneath the surface and shine bright blue when disturbed. This region is the only area of Tira’s surface that supports life.

"Perhaps it is the life here that provides the source of this strange power?"

Crystal Caves
Just below the icy wastes and rocky outcroppings, a vast labyrinth of caves twists back and forth, spanning nearby the circumference of the entire planet. Many are collapsed or nearly impassable, others flooded. Some are narrow and winding, others are so wide and smooth they look like they were bored by machines. Most are covered in huge, glowing crystals, so bright that they could be navigated without a light source, and populated by bugs and scuttling critters.

"It was said that Tira has a heart of kyber, but I cannot imagine anyone venturing into this place to find out."

The Ocean of Night
Far below Tira’s surface, the network of caves all end at the same place: a plunge into midnight waters. Encased by a shell of ice and warmed by Tira’s massive and rapidly spinning core, The Ocean of Night is warm, rich in minerals and full of life. The Ocean is difficult to access and unlike the surface, which is lit by aurorae, it is as dark as the depths of space, and swarming with sightless, hungry creatures.

"No living soul has been below. I hope that nobody will ever have to. The source surely lies elsewhere..."

Force Nexus:
Intent: This Force Nexus will provide a pivotal plot point for the story arc planned for this planet.
Nexus Name: The Standing Stone
Nexus Alignment: Neutral
Size: Small
Strength: Strong
Accessibility: The Standing Stone is lost to history and very isolated. Its location is not known to any living scholar and is listed only in obscure text. Being located on Tira itself, an uninhabited world, it would be unlikely to be discovered by accident. Physically it is not difficult to access. Visitors would just need to overcome the terrestrial hazards of Tira’s surface.
Effects:

  • Provides a modest boost to the powers of nearby Force Users
  • Increases mental and emotional Force Powers, and telepathy for Force Users
  • Gradually fatigues nearby persons
  • Effects can be boosted when life is taken within the vicinity of the Standing Stone

"It is here, the point of convergence for all the lines of energy across this cold, awful planet. It must be the location of the Ritual."

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Tira is a rocky, frozen rogue planet of extragalactic origin, long since flung from the warmth of its home star. The planet is slowly passing through the Galactic Core near the Tapani Sector, where it will remain for a few tens of thousands of years before its silent voyage takes it beyond the Galaxy again. In the era of Xim’s Interstellar Empire, agents of the despotic emperor discovered Tira and located a natural Force Nexus on its surface theorised to have formed from the concentration of hardy life that had survived the ejection of the planet from its solar system millions of years prior. These worshippers created a plot to harness the Nexus and amplify its energy to greatly empower the soldiers of their Empire, but were unable to finish the plot after Xim’s death and the subsequent collapse of the Empire. The Nexus remains mild and since then, Tira has been lost and uninhabited, floating quietly in the dark far from any known hyperspace routes, and missing from modern starmaps.
