ADVANCED SYSTEMS
STRENGTHS
  • Workhorse
The TIE/Rv is a modern iteration of a typical TIE Fighter platform - direct, simple, sturdy, and dependable. What it lacks in advanced features it makes up for in reliability in combat, and while there are flashier ships out there - it will get the job done in the right hands.
  • Air Superiority
Given the simplicity in its design and inexpensive assembly, TIE/Rvs can be manufactured and deployed in great quantities; resulting in large squadron sizes. They are quite capable of establishing air superiority through sheer numbers alone.
  • Nimble
There is one key practical advantage to this starfighter itself - it is very nimble. While it may be somewhat lacking in firepower and defensive systems, the TIE Reaver is very deadly in a dogfight as it can outmaneuver many of its counterparts with ease.
WEAKNESSES
  • Light Armament
While the Reaver has a serviceable armament, it is considered light compared to other starfighters - even peers within the TIE series, relying on two laser cannons and one proton torpedo launcher per fighter.
  • Light Defenses
Although the Reaver’s defensive systems are vastly improved compared to older models with the inclusion of deflector shields and chaff countermeasures; when compared to current starfighter platforms, it is decidedly unremarkable. Pilots won’t die from a single direct hit as with previous models, yet they should rely more on their speed as opposed to their armor and shields even so.
  • No Hyperdrive
The TIE/Rv lacks a hyperdrive in favor of design simplicity, efficiency, and weight optimization. She is meant to be a theater-superiority craft, not a multi-role fighter.
DESCRIPTION

In the days of old, during the Galactic Empire of Emperor Palpatine - the original TIE/In Space Superiority Fighter was a symbol of Imperial presence and power; with its trademark howl echoing in the minds and hearts of all in the galaxy whether rebel or loyal citizen. In the centuries that would follow, Palpatine’s successor Empires would make use of both old and newer variants of this platform, highlighting more and more advanced features in the process.

The TIE/Rv, or Reaver as its affectionately known by her pilots, is a modern return to what made the TIE Fighter so dominant in ages past - emphasizing nimble, simple design while adding in necessary upgrades to keep the platform competitive in the modern age. Such upgrades include more advanced subsystems to increase combat utility and survivability, as well as a deflector shield system. Today, the Tarkin Initiative has a very stable platform in the TIE Reaver, where hopefully her similar yet unique howl will once again echo with equal dominance and fear in the hearts of her enemies.
