STRENGTHS

• Speed demon: The TIE Dragster is perhaps the fastest starfighter ever constructed by the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant, having a higher top speed than even the X3-A Striker.
• Maneuverable: The TIE Dragster maintains a good degree of maneuverability even at top speed, though this is somewhat compromised when engaging its SLAB subsystems.
• Versatile: The TIE Dragster's mixed armament of laser cannons, slugthrowers and Energy Bombs allows the vessel to engage a variety of different targets that the ship would normally be ineffective against,
• Electronic Warfare: Though it is not specifically designed for it, the TIE Dragster does possess limited electronic warfare capabilities.
• Hyperdrive: Unlike mainly comparably sized vessels, the TIE Dragster comes equipped with an on board hyperdrive system.

WEAKNESSES

• Speed freak: The TIE Dragster is exceptionally difficult to control at top speed, meaning that only the most skilled pilots can get the most out of their ship.
• Limited ordinance: The TIE Dragster's "Mini" Bomblet Generator is highly unstable and prone to malfunctioning. It is also only capable of holding five projectiles at any given time, and requires several minutes to generate additional Energy Bombs.
• Fragile: Once its energy shields are depleted, the TIE Dragster is relatively fragile and quite susceptible to being destroyed.
• Maintenance heavy: The stress placed upon the TIE Dragster's frame when moving at top speed ensures that the vessel requires constant maintenance to remain at top condition.
• Turning radius: Because of the way that the ship is designed, the TIE Dragster has a relatively large turning radius.

DESCRIPTION

Though the X3-A Striker program succeeded in producing a potent combat design, the starfighter did still leave much to be desired, especially in regards to its armament and defenses. As such, the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant, in collaboration with the N&Z Umbrella Corporation, has already begun work on the next generation of ultra fast interceptor craft: the TIE Dragster.

Compared to the Striker, the TIE Dragster is far more heavily armed, thanks to the addition of N&Z exclusive weaponry. The starfighter's AFT- 14.4000B FLAK Cannons are capable of equipping a variety of specialist ammunition while the vessel's Bomblet Generator gives the craft a theoretically unlimited amount of Energy Bombs to use against enemy capital ships and ground targets, though in practical terms the number of bombs that the starfighter can actually deploy is fairly limited.

In fact, the Bomblet Generator is both highly unstable and quite temperamental, which is why the Imperial Remnant handed to ship over to Drexel Quinn for testing. Should something go catastrophically wrong, the Imperial Remnant can avoid losing potentially precious test pilots, while at the same time gaining valuable data about the starfighter's performance and viability of equipping more ships with Bomblet Generators. After all, the Imperial Remnant can always construct additional TIE Dragster's if needed but cannot train highly skilled pilots nearly as quickly!
