LOCATION: New Alderaan, Former Imperial Palace
OBJECTIVE: Gathering of the most influential Captains of Industry and commerce

op9tKaA.png

The Imperial Palace on New Alderaan was quite the perfect setting for a meeting of those who held the strings not just to the Imperial Confederation's continuous progress and expansion, but who also managed employment, housing, industry and more. While in the long distant past, the Galactic Empire had sought to control the corporations, the Imperial Confederation had not stolen its name, by blending almost seemlessly the exponential influence of the corporations with the hard and no-nonsense attitude of the true imperial ideology. While they seemed hard to combine in theory, practice had shown a different path. Several smaller and major corporations had managed to find root within the imperial expansion, driving internal competition and offering a lithany of products and options. However, with such a widespread list of options and choices came the inevitable problem which the Governor of Corvus and CEO of the Nargath and Zanareth Umbrella Corporation wished to adress.

Getting the access to the palace was one thing, the Exarch had access and so did the Supreme Commander, not to mention that it still housed a sizeable force and held several vaults which held many of the Imperial Confederation's most dear treasures in the form of stockpiles of precious materials and minerals, credit vaults and ofcourse some vaults containing sensitive material. Perhaps most important though, was the war room, originally intended for the ruling council to be able to discuss important legislation or potential military action. Marlon Sularen Marlon Sularen had been so graceful to allow Amalia to set up the war room for a different purpose; a meeting of the wealthiest and most influential members outside of the purely military and political sphere.

The goal was simple; to find an agreement between the different companies in order to set up a standardization system, a document on which each and every company within the Imperial Confederation could put their signature in order to truly find a synergy each could work with and each would contribute to. The guards of the palace, still the old, though somewhat purged imperial knights maintained the security for the guests, while the imperial gardens were open for their entourage and for break times in between what Amalia was certain would be fruitful, yet no doubt heated sessions of negotiating the treacherous pitfalls of the corporate realm.

As she was already waiting, she looked at the datapad she was holding, standing in the war room at the end of the massively long conference table, with connections and hololinks on each section and seat, and ofcourse a large holographic display at the center. Having sent out invitations to many of the larger and smaller companies, the governor of Corvus hoped to find a more balanced alignment of all the players, for the improvement of the Imperial Confederation as a whole.

The Imperial Gardens lay in a hush that felt less like peace and more like a held breath beneath the weight of unseen constellations. Pale statues, weathered by centuries of forgotten empires, loomed between hedgerows trimmed with unnatural precision, their collective gazes turned toward the gravel path where Dorian advanced with measured authority.

At his flanks walked three corporate accounts, men whose datapads and handwritten ledgers had tallied data, profit sheets and margins, and a manifesto of the corporation's existence possessed footsteps that now faltered against the oppressive grandeur surrounding them.

Dorian's cane, ebony-shafted and silver-crowned, ticked softly against the stone as he walked, each tap a metronome of dominion newly inherited; his silhouette, tall and austerely tailored in mourning black, cut through the hedges like a funerary blade. Without turning his head, he spoke, his voice sharpened by education and edged with iron resolve.

"I am aware not all agree with this decision, securing contracts from the Imperials." The accounts exchanged uneasy glances, but he continued before dissent could take shape. "But this is my vision now, and not my dead grandfather's before me. I own the companies now." The last words lingered in the perfumed air like a legal decree etched upon a tomb.

They reached the palace gates, things of auric metal that parted not with motion but with a sound like distant glaciers rending. Silent attendants guided the procession without speech, their faces serene in a manner that suggested either perfect discipline or perfect absence.

The accounts clutched their data-folios closer, as though numbers might shield them from the architecture's suffocating scale. Dorian alone seemed untouched, his gaze appraising frescoes of conquest the way a financier studies promising markets.

At last they were ushered into the war room, a vast circular chamber where star-maps burned in the air like captive galaxies; and at its center stood the woman in command. He approached with deliberate grace, the severity of his earlier tone softening into cultivated diplomacy. He inclined his head politely. "A pleasure, truly," he said, voice now warm with measured compliment.

"I am Count Dorian Ambrose of House Ambrose, proprietary of Orcus Industries, and its subsidiaries, Cortex Monarch and InTech Enterprises. I thank you for allowing me this opportunity."

FN-999 entered the Imperial Palace without fanfare.

No one dared question the enormous stormtrooper who strode into the grand palace, his stride confident and his presence imposing despite his advanced age. He paid little attention to the ornate gardens, with its mementos of Empires past and present. Far more important to FN-999 was what - or rather, who - was inside the Imperial Palace.

He strode through the open steel gates of the Imperial Palace, taking his first steps into its grand interior hallway. Perhaps in his twenties or thirties, he would have gawked at the immense proportions of the palace or felt fearful of its sheer vastness. Now, FN-999 felt nothing but a growing sense of expectation as he drew closer to the conference room.

The space, some sort of war room, was no less vast or grand than the hallway he had just exited. Again, FN-999 paid the architecture little regard, his focus entirely on the conference’s host and the sea of faces around him.

He felt many pairs of eyes digging into his head, but he paid them no mind. If FN-999 was in their position, he would stare too. Amidst the crowd of polished executives and their handpicked secretaries or accountants, the general wore little more than his stormtrooper armor, not an assistant or associate in sight. Despite his warlike appearance, his posture was impeccable as he drew closer to where Amalia stood, towering over most of the people around him. Amused, he decided to return the gaze of some of the executives who more blatantly stared.

They immediately looked away, frantically attempting to look absorbed in conversation or preparation. FN-999 gave little attention to their posturing. Their true character was determined by how they managed their sizable assets.

Unlike the count immediately in front of him, FN-999 did not bother with empty pleasantries. It had never been his style of diplomacy, and he knew few expected it out of him.

“Greetings.” remarked FN-999. “I am here in my capacity as the primary shareholder of Alge Imperial Shipyards. I look forward to hearing about new opportunities for contracts."

Prefect Nolle Tron walked into the war room of the Imperial Palace on New Alderaan with a small amount of awe. It was her secret goal to one day be present in this room as part of the Ruling Council. Someday Nolle hoped to be the Exarch for the Confederation. Though she wore her Prefect Uniform, today was not the day for such a thing. Today Nolle was here to ensure the economic stability of the Confederation. It was for that reason that her Mikkian associate walked into the room beside her.

Nolle was there two represent the COMECI and to represent the interests of Zenith Point Ventures. She did not wish to seem like the citizens of the Confederation favored one corporation over another so she dressed the part of her political title and her associate would be the official voice of Zenith Point Ventures. It was a simple arrangement to put forward. Even though it was no secret that Nolle was a part of ZPV it was even less of a secret that she had aspirations to oversee the economic future of the whole Confederation. In a structure like TIC, the two were not mutually exclusive ideals.

Once inside the room, Nolle took stock of who was present. At the moment it was merely Governor Visonti and a dark-haired man. As a member of the Confederation's government, Nolle had been privy to the list of invitees and based off that had done some homework. She guessed this man to be Dorian Ambrose. The third person present was a stormtrooper, who Nolle mistook for security, thus did not immediately address him.

"Hello Governor Visonti. Thank you for inviting me to represent the COMECI. Allow me to introduce Cira Velmari, Chief Financial Officer of Zenith Point Ventures. She will speak with the voice of the board," The Mikkian gave a pleasant smile and nod to Amalia and then Dorian. The blue-skinned woman would speak with the board's voice because she knew exactly how any deal would affect the profit sheets of any of the equity firm's subsidiaries. But Nolle would give a gentle nudge if needed.

The Near Duros then turned to the stranger in the room. "Welcome to New Alderaan. I am Prefect Nolle Tron of Amarin. I hope that this will be a meeting that will be beneficial to all, corporations, our government, and our people." The last part might have been an exaggerated wish. Nolle represented the citizenry it was true, but her view was that corporations' health came before the health of the people.

IMPERIAL CONFEDERATION
NEW ALDERAAN,
OUTER RIM TERRITORIES
TimHzFP.png

Since it's foundation, the Imperial Confederation had attracted a vast amount of Corporate talent. From Corporate giants such as the N&Z Umbrella Corporation to smaller players like the Alge Imperial Shipyards and SularenCo, many companies had sought to invest their resources into the Confederation's growing economy and push it towards greater success. For Sularen this was a breath of fresh air. He had previously watched as both the New Imperial Order and the Dark Empire allowed the Trade Federation to build a monopoly over their economic apparatuses. Even though the N&Z Umbrella Corporation was comparable to the Trade Federation and had the same expansionist drive as them, at least the Confederation wasn't completely reliant on them.

As the Imperial Confederation moved to pursue a more aggressive foreign policy, Sularen had sought to leverage the Confederation's corporate connections to create a framework for more cooperation between the Corporations when it came to meeting the needs of the Confederation hoping to truly consolidate and elevate the Confederation's Military-Industrial Complex into a powerful pillar that would ensure it's survival in the long-term. So when Governor Visconti came forward with her own plans to set up a standardization system amongst the Pro-Imperial corporations, Sularen did not hesitate and gave her his full support behind the project going as far as allowing Visconti to use one of the war rooms of the Old Imperial Palace on New Alderaan for a meeting she had envisioned.

Thus the Supreme Commander would soon find himself walking inside the war room where the meeting Visconti had arranged for would take place. Already some of the attendees were present while others had yet to arrive. Amongst those who were present, Sularen recognized some of them such as FN-999 and Noelle Tron, whom he had interacted with in the past already in addition to Amalia Visconti herself. There was another individual who had introduced himself as Count Dorian Ambrose of Orcus Industries. While Sularen had never heard of him nor his company before, he was still eager to get acquainted with a potential new corporate partner.

First he approached Governor Visconti who with his help had made the arrangements for this meeting. "Governor Visconti. I see that things are going just as planned." he began as he made his presence known to the Governor of Corvus. "I do look forward to see how this meeting transpires. As both the Supreme Commander of the Confederation's Armed Forces and the Chief Executive of a Corporation, i do believe it's time we actually put some effort into leveraging our corporate connections to create something great for both our corporations and the Confederation." he added.

Then he went to speak to the newcomer who had already been approached by Noelle Tron. "Prefect Tron. It's a pleasure to meet you once more." he said first addressing the Prefect before shifting his attention towards the Count. "Count Ambrose. A pleasure to meet you." he said offering his hands for a handshake. "It's always nice to see new faces within the corporate scene. I do look forward to developing a positive mutually-beneficial partnership with your corporation and it's subsidiaries." he continued.

It did not take long before the more affluent and powerful members of the corporate structures within the Imperial Confederation found themselves trickling into the war room. They themselves would find themselves greeted by the Governor of Corvus and Chief Executive Officer of the N&Z Umbrella Corporation herself, though to make sure there would be no sign of pressuring coming from herself or any other of the members present, she maintained that any protection brought by those among them would be free to remain with them on their own choice and terms, while the remainders of the old Imperial Knights would combine with the Imperial Security services to ensure the palace itself remained safe and secure for any possible incursion.

"Count Ambrose, it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance," Befitting the man's station and ranking within the hierarchy of nobility, Amalia gave the man a slight curtsy, as her own baroness position did have lower standing among aristocratic circles. Now if the Marquis of Valkan was around though, the roles might've been reversed. Still, while she had not met this man prior, the Count showed a professionality one did expect from those who climbed the corporate ladder. "Please have a seat and take any of the beverages prepared, we may always bring in some other refreshments should you have nothing to your liking."

Next to enter the war room, was a man who seemed to value pragmatism and practicality above the style and swagger many corporate leaders seemed to rely on, in stead entering the room in full gear, unperturbed by how much they stood out. The governor of Corvus simply gave FN-999 (restored) FN-999 (restored) a polite nod, being certain this particular individual would prefer less of the pomp and pretention which came with most of these meetings. "We welcome the Alge Corporation in our midst, please have a seat and enjoy some of the refreshments while we wait for the other guests to arrive."

Prefect Nolle Tron Nolle Tron was an expected and much valued guest, as her work for COMECI and their contributions to the financial health and security of the Imperial Confederation would not be underestimated. In fact, her recently founded equity firm was seen as a possible future investor for joint operations and ventures inside and outside of the Imperial Confederation. the fact the prefect had brought someone to represent her equity firm in order to separate her COMECI duties and influence from their private corporate actions was smart and should have been applauded. "Prefect Tron, good to see you. Miss Velmari, pleased to meet you, let us hope this can become a fruitful and educational meeting for all of us."

For now the last one to arrive was none other than the Supreme Commander himself, despite attending the meeting as the head of his own private corporation, it had to be expected to see him wear the full regalia that came with his station. Where Amalia adjusted her outfit according to the position she represented, Prefect Tron had someone else to act as her corporate voice, Marlon Sularen Marlon Sularen as always showed up in military dress, an intimidating and impressive sight for those who did not have his favor or who simply didn't have backing equal or higher than him. "Lord Sularen, yes...everything is going as planned, please when you have finished greeting everyone, do have a seat as well, we have lots to discuss in regards to the changes which we might need to implement to further improve the Imperial Confederation's financial and industrial capacity."

Walking over to the head of the table, expecting the Supreme Commander to take the other end, Amalia quietly reached for the datapad she'd placed on the table and connected it to the central holographic display through the transeiver built in on the table. Several logos appeared on the display, on closer inspection, one could see that these were the logos of all companies whose representatives were already present at the meeting, but also some logos active within TIC, but whose representatives had not yet arrived or simply weren't invited for this initial round of talks.

Besides the logos, another thing would become clear; the numbers which were listed with each corporate logo, indicating their respective fields, their market share and their overall value per a recent study conducted by the Industrial Monetary Fund, which was an independant and autonomous financial advisory and asset management company founded by Marquis Tertius Nargath in 901 ABY. They had recently also conducted a study on how to improve the internal market of the Imperial Confederation, a study which would be sent to each of the members present. The findings were simple and yet staggering: there was too much internal competition. While competition itself was something which should have been lauded and approved of, this also lowered the chances of synergy between the options the Imperial Confederation's military and naval assets had with eachother. While it would have been less of an issue on the civilian or the external market, it did make it so that government contracts were a pain for the financial department of Nolle Tron Nolle Tron to handle, secure and oversee.

"What we should discuss today is to find an equilibrium, a means by which each of our companies can maximize profit and quality through dedicated standardization and synergy procedures which would benefit the overall quality not only of all our products, but also the assets utilized and maintained by the Imperial Confederation's navy and military," With a swipe across the screen of her datapad, the woman allowed another image to be revealed across the holographic display, showing the ever increasing variety to be found within the Imperial Confederation's armories and stockpiles. "A proposal I have had floating around and would like to share with all of you, is to create a dedicated product line...not individually, but together. To create components and templates which should need to form the basis of a whole new generation of products offered and sold to the Imperial Confederation through government contracts and procurements, but also to discuss laying the foundations for the additional industrial and financial expansion this would mean for all of us."

Vyllia was honestly a bit surprised to receive an invitation from the Imperial Confederation to participate in discussion of how corporate wealth and greed could be stabilized, standardized and weaponized. The Santhe family was still one of the most wealthy families within the Imperial Confederation. That was a good reason to invite a representative, but Vyllia, despite being the matriarch, was a bit of an outcast. An attempt was made on her life, her subsequent establishment of residence in the Diarchy and marriage to Maldor Sancetti Maldor Sancetti were not viewed favorably.

Despite this opinion within her family, Santhe-Sienar continued business in Vyllia's new home while the Santhe of Lianna seemed to cease work. They backed a rebranding under the formerly larger Santhe Corporation with some untold deep pockets making that possible. It seems those pockets may have finally run dry as calls had been made to Vyllia from Lianna about the state of Santhe-Sienar within the Confederation. A status that Vyllia was not entirely sure of until she received this invitation. So for her family she would make an appearance. Perhaps she would find someone to take over control of the company her family had built over generations. She would make sure that Santhe always had a say, but having the cousins that had abandoned her at the very least answer to someone outside the family would be an amusing turn of events.

With a sigh Vyllia gave a quick look in a mirror to be sure that she was looking right and then she pressed the button on her desk to initiate the call. On the other end in the war room of the Imperial Palace on New Alderaan Prefect Tron pressed the button that would receive the call.

"Thank you for the invitation Governor Visonti," Vyllia spoke clearly as a holo-image of her head and shoulders hovered in the middle of the meeting table. "I apologize if I arrived late, and that I cannot appear in person, but as you may know the Diarchy and Santhe-Sienar were the target of a Mandalorian attack. My personal bodyguard was injured in this terrible injustice and shipyards are currently offline. A lot to deal with out here," Vyllia probably didn't have to reveal that the shipyards may not exactly be offline but rather switched to producing ships for the Mandalorians.

"This is a nice assembly of influencers in the corporate galaxy. I hope that we will be able to create a foundation that will ensure mutual prosperity." The image of Vyllia gave a slight nod and seemed to look around the room waiting for the proceedings to continue.

To say that Karl was late would have been generous.

Since his formal exoneration and the criminalization of the Risen Empire, the weight of governance had only intensified. Legislative reform, military restructuring, industrial realignment, the datapads on his desk had multiplied faster than the hours in a standard day. Milton Flight had been pulled deeper into Confederation procedure as a result, undergoing an accelerated immersion in administrative standards under the sharp instruction of Moira Thif. Karl had ensured the additional burden was compensated from his own accounts. Efficiency demanded fairness.

When he entered the war room, he did so quietly. A respectful inclination of his head was given toward Amalia as she spoke, and to the others whose eyes briefly lifted in acknowledgment. Milton and Moira followed a step behind, each carrying several N&Z SHIFT datapads. Karl took his seat without interrupting. He listened to Amalia's words.

Only when her proposal settled over the chamber did he lean forward slightly, hands resting against the polished surface of the table.

"I am in agreement," he began evenly, his voice calm yet effortlessly carrying. "Standardization is no longer a matter of convenience. It is a matter of trajectory. Our expansion has been enthusiastic, to say the least. Product lines have multiplied. Variants have proliferated. Innovation has flourished."

A faint pause. "But so too has friction."

"Reactor interfaces that require adaptation at every dockyard. Ammunition discrepancies across fleet sectors. Maintenance frameworks incompatible beyond their origin system."
His eyes shifted briefly to Amalia. "If we are to pursue a unified product line, then we must first define what is to be unified."

Milton activated one of the SHIFT datapads, handing it to Karl he connected it to the table's interface, projecting an older, but still relevant layered modular schematic into the central display, something he had thought up back when he was still privateering when First ORder parts weren't easy to come by.

"The structural skeleton should be shared. Power couplings. Ammunition calibers. Docking collars. Maintenance protocols. Data architecture. A common foundation upon which all further innovation is built." His tone remained measured. "From there, competition sharpens rather than fragments. Let companies refine propulsion efficiency, armor composites, targeting matrices, but upon an interoperable chassis."

He tapped his finger on the table before continuing.

"And this principle should not be confined to the military. If civil and military infrastructure share foundational standards, we create more than efficiency. We create resilience." He paused.

In that pause, his mind moved further ahead than the room. He had seen what logistical incompatibility did to fleets stretched across sectors. He had watched supply chains fracture under the weight of expansion. He understood, perhaps more clearly than most present, that empires did not falter first at the front lines, they faltered in their docks, in their shipyards, in their power grids.

Corporations would always pursue innovation. Profit demanded it. But innovation without alignment bred divergence, and divergence which, left unchecked, could become vulnerability. This was not about limiting industry. It was about anchoring it. He would not see the Confederation's future dependent on a patchwork of brilliant but incompatible systems.

His gaze returned to the holographic display, and when he spoke again, his voice carried a subtle shift, broader, more deliberate.

"The Confederation's strength does not begin at the barrel of a turbolaser. It begins in its power grids. Its transport corridors. Its planetary development initiatives." A subtle gesture emphasized the projection. "Standardized reactor housings usable in both capital vessels and urban energy networks. Unified freight container dimensions across civilian and military ports. Modular construction templates adaptable for frontier colonization, industrial expansion, or defensive fortification."

He folded his hands into his lap.

"If civil and military infrastructure share foundational standards, we create more than efficiency. We create resilience. In peace, this alignment accelerates growth. In war, it enables rapid conversion."

His gaze swept across the assembled executives.

"Our fleets should not concern themselves with whose insignia is stamped upon a component, only that it fits, functions, and can be replaced without delay."

A final glance toward Amalia, a subtle reinforcement. "What you propose, Governor, is not uniformity. It is interoperability. If executed with precision, it strengthens profit margins, reduces systemic waste, and fortifies the Confederation and its partnered corporations simultaneously."

FN-999 winced beneath his helmet as the Supreme Commander entered the room.
He was old enough to remember when Marlon Sularen had been a prominent leader of the Brotherhood of the Maw, whose forces were responsible for the brutal destruction of Csilla. In fact, FN-999 had been personally commanded Imperial forces defending the planet from Marlon’s beasts, only for an orbital Maw superweapon to force the general’s hand and that of every other defender on Csilla.

FN-999 would also never forget the cruel and cowardly manner in which the Dark Empire under Marlon’s leadership had sacked Borosk. The invasion occurred on the very same day that FN-999 along with most of the planet’s defense fleet were in Munnilinst for a conference, allowing the conniving Dark Imperials to seize Alge and cripple its shipyards before reinforcements could arrive.

He willed himself to put on a calm face, even beneath his helmet. FN-999 suspected that men such as Marlon could read intentions even beneath the thickest of armor, and the last thing the general needed was emotional blackmail. He reminded himself that the Imperial ideal was bigger than any one Imperial or so-called Imperial, and Marlon alone would not be enough to tarnish what made the Empires of past and present admired by many of the galaxy’s denizens. FN-999 would give Malron exactly the amount of respect he deserved as his immediate superior, no more and no less.

Before the two could interact, the meeting was kicked off.

Governor Visconti immediately presented a promising idea, the standardization of product lines across the Confederation’s many military contractors. FN-999 knew firsthand from his experience as a battlefield commander that many of the Imperial Confederation’s firearms had mutually incompatible ammunition even when their type and caliber was identical. If a G-12 and a NZ-02E could be configured to use identical magazines, the total savings across the Armed Forces would be easily in the billions of credits.

FN-999’s attention immediately swung to the Exarch of the Imperial Confederation himself, Karl Von Strauss, as he entered the room. When the man spoke, the entire room went silent, fully absorbed in his vision for the Confederation he had nurtured into a major galactic power. The actual content of his words was similar to what Governor Visconti had just argued for: standardization of parts, procedures, and industrial cooperation across the Confederation’s suppliers.

The general-CEO waited a few seconds after his Exarch spoke to take the floor, placing a single armored hand on the table.

“I wholeheartedly agree with what Governor Visconti and Exarch Von Strauss have proposed.” began FN-999, his voice low and deep yet powerful enough to carry across the room.

“Speaking in my capacity as a general, one of our military’s main weaknesses is a lack of standardization. The average stormtrooper squad is equipped with rifles from the Empire of the Lost, N&Z, and the Maphoreem Remnant, all with slightly different types of ammunition and almost no interchangeable parts. As a result, if a weapon breaks down and the quartermaster does not have parts from a very specific corporation or Confederation member state, it must be discarded and replaced so that stormtroopers can keep on fighting."

“Having all three rifle vendors simply agree on common barrel components or a standard magazine would save hundreds of credits for each weapon that can be salvaged. Add up the countless millions of rifles in the Armed Forces, and savings begin to add up."

“Beyond the example of rifles,” continued FN-999, placing his other hand on the table, “standardizing the equipment of our armies, starfighters, and fleets will allow for more efficient mass production across the board."

“As the Exarch mentioned,” elaborated FN-999, nodding towards the man in question, “implementing the same military standards to civilian goods will aid in the refinement of both. If a power cell built in Ossus can be plugged into any skyscraper in New Alderaan or a shield generator in Tion, then both the armed forces and the civilian workforce that makes everything they use will benefit.”

The general stood upright, withdrawing his hands from the table and folding his arms over his chest.

“However, we must take caution not to be reckless when standardizing our products.” warned FN-999. “While having several vendors making products that are largely incompatible with each other is both inexpensive and inefficient, it also prevents an intel breach at one corporation from compromising an entire section of Imperial industry. On the other hand, if all our equipment is interchangeable, all it would take is a saboteur modifying a single part in the production line to make tens of millions of blasters or power cells useless."

“Therefore,” concluded FN-999, “There must be security measures in place. Parts should be standardized, yes, but there should be some redundancies as well as the ability to isolate or modify production outside the standard in factories where sabotage is suspected. Otherwise, we risk churning out countless defective components in the name of efficiency."

IMPERIAL CONFEDERATION
NEW ALDERAAN,
OUTER RIM TERRITORIES
TimHzFP.png
It was truly amazing what the Imperial Confederation could accomplish when it leveraged the resources and potential at it's disposal. More then half a dozen individuals each with their own businesses already interested in throwing their weight behind the Confederation's economy, discussing ways to create a standardized method of delivering new compatible equipment for the Imperial Armed Forces. Lower costs, more efficient production lines, component interoperability. All things that would increase the efficiency of Imperial logistics and supply. The only issue left was actually leveraging these strengths to make an actual impact on the galactic scale. After all a well-equipped Army

When FN-999 spoke of the risk of sabotage and the need for better security measures, Sularen decided to speak up being one of the experts in this room regarding that particular subject matter. "Security will indeed be an important part of the process." Sularen stated, adding to FN-999's statements and giving him a look of acknowledgement. "We are already dealing with a growing rebel movement that has launched major attacks against our infrastructure. Our logistics and supply chains will be an obvious target, especially if they find out about our plans to standardize the production of new equipment." he stated.

"We have to treat our supply chain like a computer network. We want our computers to use the same language but we don't want a virus to shut every terminal at once." he continued. "One good way to do this would be to create regional production hubs that serve a specific portion of our armed forces alongside industrial black sites that would act as a backup incase of sabotage providing our forces with equipment secretly stockpiled that can be made readily available when gaps in our supply chains are created. Other methods include multi-factor verification and testing to ensure that products work exactly as intended and haven't been tampered with along with the introduction redundant modular components that can be easily utilized to replace defective components introduced by saboteurs to sabotage entire production lines."

"By creating multiple security layers and backups, we ensure that even in the event of sabotage everything can proceed as normal. If Rebel saboteurs manage to render a million of blasters useless then we can ready replace the sabotaged components with compatible and functional ones or just replace the entire stock with another million blasters stockpiled in some secure secret armory. Of-course it will be costly in the short-term, but it will discourage further attempts to sabotage our supply chains and ensure that our troops will be properly equipped at all times, saving costs in the long-term."

Good points were being made during the meeting, with many a late comer such as the representative from Santhe-Sienar and COMECI leading man Karl von Strauss expressing their own opinions on the matter. Still, the matter on the interchangeability of small arms and the redundancy within those lines, a point brought up by FN-999 (restored) FN-999 (restored) gave some food for thought, but for now this wasn't where Amalia had thought to focus on.

"While I think it is a commendable idea to think about the interchangeability of small arms and the likes, I believe that such things can be relegated to merely utilizing standardizations in terms of magazines and power cells, the latter of which is already on point, as for other parts... may I remind you that through our commitments, both the N&Z and Mahporeem's industries have already managed to integrate many of our systems to allow for such interchangeability, use of calibered munition and add-ons," The governor of Corvus gave the general a slight smile, as to indicate that while she understood his point, Alge was essentially playing catch up and was always welcome to start integrating technology from the aforementioned companies in order to find this reasonable middle ground.

"However, what I wished to present was less...individualistic and more based on a simple ratification of standards which would be recognized and held up as such by the Imperial Confederation," Motioning to the holographic display, the image of a simple, non-descript TIE-fighter was being displayed.

"Today, we have three or more corporations providing TIE starfighters, yet they are so wildly and vastly different that procurement costs for the confederation are high, labor costs are high and maintainance costs just the same are high," Pressing her datapad, the holographic display revealed a schematics on that same TIE starfighter, giving a better insight into the proposal made by Amalia. "Standardization in this case would mean having the Imperial Confederation's military approve a list of materials, components, defense and offensive systems derived and purchased on contract from any of the corporations present here. From this list, which will be reviewed on an anual basis in order to include upgrades, future developments and so forth, Imperial Engineers would be able to design their required and most needed configurations. Our companies could see this as a joint venture into the future of the Imperial Confederation and we could thus invest into manufacturing capacity for local goods and benefit from each contract, each requirement, each request jointly...rather than having to compete at every turn."

The entrance of the Supreme Commander was a bit of a surprise to Prefect Tron. She knew that he liked being very involved in all things Imperial, and to think that Sularen would not have some vestment into the corporate galaxy was just being naïve. Nolle had great respect for Sularen and stood giving him subtle bow of her head and shoulders. ”Welcome Supreme Commander,” she said in a pleasant tone. Beside her the Mikkian businesswoman also stood and gave a silent, gracious bow in welcome.

Nolle listened to the pitch made by Governor Visonti. The Near Duros was quiet and attentive despite the fact that she was at least partially aware of what Amalia’s intent in calling the meeting was about. While Nolle was not overly involved with the actual manufacturing of goods, she was in all conversations about anything that affected the economy of the Confederation. And standardization of currency and other factors was something that Nolle was a known proponent of. Nolle’s large head nodded along with Amalia’s proposal as her red eyes looked over the room.

Vyllia Santhe (Sancetti) of Santhe-Sienar appeared via holo and introductions were made. Dealing were being made behind the curtain involving Lianna’s most historic company. Nolle was part of those dealings and knew that more than likely Vyllia was only here to be seen and to ultimately agree with whatever proposal N&Z supported.

Next to join the room was the Exarch of the COMECI, Nolle again stood and bowed with respect. Cira a little more familiar with the Exarch gave a slightly more familiar greeting than she had Sularen, but still showing respect. Karl added his voice to standardization. He gave the logical arguments that a device purchased on any Confed world should not require adaptations when traveling to another Confed world. It was something that Nolle was the same theory that Nolle had in seeking a standard currency.

The stormtrooper, a general as it turns out, then surprised Nolle by chiming in. She had missed his introduction so hadn’t realized he was an invitee of the meeting. He agreed with the proposition of standardization…to a point. A question of security.

The Supreme Commander and Governor Visonti backed the stormtrooper’s concerns. Not surprising. Both sticking to the military side of things. When it came to military equipment there would be room for both standard and varied products depending on the product. Santhe-Sienar need not share every component with FAE for every component of a fighter. But there are some that should. And perhaps they should use the same fuel so that the Confederation could consolidate purchases to that commodity.

”Top Secret is still Top Secret,” Nolle agreed with a nod of her head. ” Experimental projects will not be shared with companies that have no need to know them. Even if their components would be used in the name of standardization. Standardization does not mean an open design process is needed. Even in civilian goods there needs to be room for competition, and as a result secrecy. A land speeder may be a land speeder to one person, to other they see the difference between a speeder made for luxury, work or just a cheap way to get around. The Confederation should insist upon a certain standardization in materials and perhaps fuel or charging means. Things that ensure the speeder can be operated wherever in the Confederation one takes it. On the other hand, a luxury speeder and a hauler should not be using the same repulsor engines. It just isn’t practical. Confederation security as well as corporate individuality will have room to exist in these standards.”

So far, FN-999 saw everything as proceeding satisfactorily.
His security concerns were given appropriate attention, and as much as he despised Malron Sularen personally, he begrudgingly respected the man’s affirmation of and elaboration on his claims. Following him, Imperial Governor Visconti took the floor once more, presenting herself as the organizational leader of a drive for standardization centered around power cells and other dual-use products.

Next to speak was an unfamiliar face, that of a Duros dressed in the finery of an Imperial Prefect. By itself the title of Prefect was a largely symbolic role, but when attached to the business interests that the Duros undoubtedly represented, there was likely real power behind the title. They spoke in affirmation of seemingly every previous speaker, highlighting the lack of significant disagreement amongst the Imperial executives and leadership assembled in conference.

It seemed to FN-999 as if there would be little need for the meeting to continue for much longer, lest it descend into empty pleasantries. Clearly, everyone who had spoken so far, himself included, had expressed strong support for a much-needed standardization of production within the Imperial Confederation. All that was left was an excuse to bring the meeting to a meaningful conclusion.

“Evidently,” remarked FN-999 as once more rose to his feet, “Everyone who has spoken so far is in agreement on the importance of standardizing and making interchangeable lines of production within the Imperial Confederation, whether it involves power cells, ammunition, or any number of products."

“I suggest that we establish written guidelines for a new initiative including every policy we have proposed. Once they are all on one document, I believe this conference will have fulfilled its duty."

Illithor briskly walked down the halls toward the meeting room. Flashing his credentials when needed, only two experimental B1 droids and his female Sephi assistant right behind him. The mismatch of organic shoes and the metal clinking of droid feet making an odd sound down the halls usually full of organics.

After a few more hall turns they arrive. Illithor shows his credentials to the Stormtrooper guards "Here you go."

The Storm Troopers look at it, and back at him a few times "I guess you do look like him. And the rest checks out. You can enter."
finally after a moment being let in.

Quietly entering having noticed the meeting had already started, Illithor moves to his set and listens for a time. Before finally chiming in.

"Standardization is important.... to a point. There are things that need to be different. One may say why? Well do you want rebels capturing a little to many factories. Then using them to glean how to screw up our war machine?"

He pauses for a time and looks around. "A certain level of diversity is also a strength. A fine line to be drawn between the two. Too far either way and weakness is the result."

He then grabs his holopad and starts flicking through things.

As Nines would point out everyone here was in agreement with the importance of standardization and further establishing interchangeable lines of production within the Confederation. At this point everything that was being said was a mere affirmation of the previous statement, arguments that stacked on top of each other and displayed a willingness to create a more efficient war machine that could properly supply the personnel of the Imperial Armed Forces with the best equipment possible. So naturally it as Nines once against would point out, it was time that the conference moved further towards the next step.

"I must concur with the General." Sularen stated. "Everyone here is in agreement on the matter of standardization and cooperation amongst each other, so naturally the next step is moving towards the process of putting these policies into practice, starting with the codification of some guidelines for our brand new initiatives just as proposed." he further added. "Since my specialization is on the matter of security, i'll let the rest of you handle the other details first before we can go over the specific security policies that would be included in the list of guidelines as proposed by the General."

"My apologies, but we're not done yet," Amalia looked at Marlon Sularen Marlon Sularen with her usual cold look, yet the tone of her voice made it clear that while they had come to the agreement that standardization was needed, none of those present had actually given consent or commitment. After all, just agreeing wasn't enough. "While it is nice to agree on so many things... we haven't gotten to agree on parameters and the division of labors just yet."

Tilting her head to the side, Amalia looked at each person present at the meeting, giving each a few moments of her attention, her dull gray eyes settling upon each of them before moving to the next. "Ships, vehicles, communication systems, sattelites... we have a large list of demands and products which have to be regulated, which need to have internal guidelines to work with, official parts and so forth. If we simply agree on the small things, there was no point in standardization to begin with."

Snapping her head back straight, the governor of Corvus, nay the CEO of one of the most powerful corporations in the galaxy slammed her hand at the table to draw everyone's attention. "The Imperial Confederation has deep pockets and a large demand of quality products, I want each of you to hand me a list of which products, parts, materials or even services you are most certain of to be a boon to the Imperial Engineers to work with. Let us grant the engineers the access they need to create the strength the confederation needs. This I implore of you both as a fellow corporate actor, but also as a political and military figure within the Imperial Confederation."
