|| STRENGTHS ||
+Forgeborn Strength: Thyra is strong, even by Valkyri standards. She grew to be such through the time she has spent working the forges in her mother's smithy.
+Melee Mastery: Thyra has spent her whole life wielding melee weapons, from play sticks as a toddler on up to spears, hammers, swords, shields, and axes. As such, she has a distinct edge in close combat, even without considering her Force sensitivity.
+Skyborn: Thyra has always loved flying, starting relatively young using gliders that were a recent addition to life in her village just before she was born. Her skill in a glider translated into fighters and small craft, aided by the force.

|| WEAKNESSES ||
-Tourist Syndrome: Despite the past few years spent among the stars, Thyra grew up on a planet that Backwaters would consider backwards. As such, she still has flashes of awe when seeing the sights of the galaxy.
-Galactic Neophyte: Thyra knows very little about the wider galaxy, including about the Sith and Jedi, or wars and history.

Sunborne Winterborn

Thyra was born a blacksmith's daughter in a remote mountain village on Midvinter. Her father has always been a mystery, one of the few things her mother never spoke of. She grew up learning her mother's ways, that of smith and shieldmaiden.

Early on, she fought other kids in the village using sticks as swords and barrel lids as shields. She was always quick to learn how to best her opponents, and then show them how to correct the mistake she caught them at. Her mother taught her letters and numbers, including basic arithmetic and all of the peculiarities of running a business. Others in the village taught her bits and pieces of their trades, as Thyra has always been an eager learner. Thus, she has a wide array of generally useless knowledge within the sphere of the wider galaxy.

As she grew up, she took over more and more duties at her mother’s forge. In her free time she turned from playing at fighting to actual training to be a Shieldmaiden. Her prowess grew commensurately with her strength and stamina from the forge work. Her peers were mollified by the fact that she prefered to share her prowess by helping them learn more effectively, rather than lord it over them.

Vinterbound Scourge
At the age of twelve, the Vinterbound assaulted their village. The warriors and shieldmaidens of the village rose to the defenses while Thyra and the other older children protected their younger peers within the village’s main hall. The fighting was fierce, by far the largest horde of Vinterbound her village had seen in living memory. At several spots, the Vinterbound broke through, coming within the village and assaulting those who couldn’t fight.

Thyra mounted a counter charge with several of her peers, leading the way from the main hall and into the flank of the Vinterbound scourge. Their press held the Vinterbound within the village back long enough for the elder fighters to return and rout them. In the end, many from their village had died, but the day was a victory. Thyra, almost giddy with the adrenaline from battle, went in search of her mother. She found her under a pile of dead Vinterbound, her leg shattered below the knee. Thyra dragged her mother back into the village, where the healer pronounced her on death’s door. An infection was taking quick hold, and nothing the healer knew could stem it.

Thyra, emotions swirling inside of her, gripped her mother’s broken leg with hands strengthened by battle and forge work, and let loose a primal scream. She could feel her emotions letting loose with the scream, but not up and out like most times. This time, she felt her emotions drain through her hands and into her mother. Wintry azure light spilled from between her hands and her mother’s leg, and when she collapsed from the exertion, her mother was fever and infection free, though her leg was healed incorrectly.

Can’t take the sky from me
From that day forward, many things changed for Thyra and her mother. Her mother never went to battle again, her leg was to warped to take the strain of combat any more. Thyra found herself, a hero of the battle against the Vinterbound, shunned by her peers and others in the village. Whispers of her being a wytch spread, though as all she had done was heal her mother nothing was done.

Thyra continued training, but now she was on her own. Her mother also gave her fewer tasks at the forge, as people didn’t want to touch wares that a wytch had touched. The extra free time gave Thyra the ability to explore around her village.

Throughout her life, and long before, people had visited her village, outsiders. They came because near her village were hot springs and cliffs. These outsiders brought a strange vehicle that let them ride the winds like an andoryn. During her time in the mountains around her village, she grew to befriend many of these outsiders, and grew to love the feel of riding the winds on their gliders. She soon found herself using her knowledge of forge work to make a glider of her own, her first few of crude designed, but eventually refined to something she could fly consistently. From then on, she trained, she flew, and she did her own little projects in the forge, and largely left her village to their own devices.

Wytch Hunt
A decade and a half passed from the day everything changed. Thyra was an expert combatant and an expert glide pilot. Her mother’s smithy slowly came to less use as the stigma of Thyra’s presence hurt the business. Concurrently, her mother grew older, having had Thyra later in life than was the norm. Eventually, Thyra found herself owning the smithy, on the day that her mother began her journey from the mortal coil towards the halls of the gods. All at once, the villages smithing needs were tasked to a different smithy in a different village, such was her stigma.

Soon after her mother’s death, people began to lay odd happenings within the village at Thyra’s feet, even when such was by no means logically possible. As days passed, more and more things were blamed on her. Eventually, the Elders of the village began to seek her out to strongly dissuade her from activities that she never undertook. Thyra quickly tired of both the attention, and the hateful feelings/intentions.

The issue came to a head early one morning, when Thyra woke to find her door being battered down by a mob of neighbors. Thyra fought her neighbors in the doorway of her house, beating them with her bare fists and her combat expertise until she was able to wedge the door shut. Quickly, she gathered clothing, armor, and her day pack she used when going gliding. She then took up her weapons and shield, and fled through a second story window. She had no desire to kill her neighbors, no matter the evil they visited on her, so instead she fled.

Midvinter Exodus
Thyra fled all the way to the capital, and seat of the High King of Midvinter. She did not go there to bring charges in the King’s court, nor to tell her tale to anyone. Instead, she came to buy passage off the planet, the capital holding an actual landing place for extraterrestrial vehicles. Because of her beauty and prowess, she was quickly able to find work on a ship bound towards the core.

The first time she had ever left Midvinter’s sky, which should have been a time of wonder and awe, was instead a time of intense sorrow. She left the place of her mother, and doubted she could ever return. Midvinter would always be her home, but now the galaxy lay at her feet.

In the years that followed, Thyra found her skill in melee combat wasn’t entirely outdated, and her abilities with the force, the reason people thought her a wytch, grew as she found trainers willing to help her nurture them. One of the greatest things she found, however, was the feel of the cockpit of a fighter craft, very akin to a glider, but able to go faster and even fight.
