STANDARD FEATURES
Throneworld has all the standard features an orbital mega-complex of its scale and functionality should possess to be effective and efficient.

ADVANCED SYSTEMS
Throneworld is bio-locked to Mercy and her lineage. There is a direct synaptic connection between the mega-structure, Mercy, and anyone she gives status within the station. This allows for direct mental input and for commands to be transferred to its systems with only a thought. From ordering a glass of water to changing the temperature in one of the rooms, to more elaborate acts like starting a hyperspace jump.
This does not mean the station can operate without people. Quite the opposite. The synaptic command system is an interface of authority, not a replacement for the crew, laborers, officers, technicians and servants required to keep a structure of this scale alive.
Throneworld has a specialized hyperdrive that allows it to make highly irregular jumps, utilizing principles taken from the Aing-Tii monks and their organic starships. This is a distinct mode of the hyperdrive that cannot be used in quick succession and needs proper wind-up time, otherwise it might end up in the middle of a star or somewhere even worse. It is not something that should be used casually. Moving a structure of this scale in such a manner is dangerous even when everything goes right.

STRENGTHS
Grandeur: Throneworld is a true sign of opulence and greed. Style over function. Whereas some would have made it a superweapon, the Warlord made it clear that this was to be a sign to those under their heels and beyond. That they did not need a superweapon to destroy them. And that they would enjoy the splendors and spoils of their conquest without worry or consideration.
Defenses: While Throneworld is not a military station and as such has little in the way of armament, it more than makes up for it by elaborate defensive mechanisms internally and externally. From reinforced plating, shield generators, point-defense emplacements and ray shields to sealed bulkheads, compartmentalized security zones and redundant life-support sections. It can endure punishment and resist boarding actions for a long time. It just cannot answer a fleet in kind.
Skylift: Throneworld has a modernized skylift construction that is adaptable and usable across the territories of the Covenant. While the station usually resides over Coruscant, it is possible for it to jump to different worlds and extend its space-elevator down to the new world for tributary offerings and exchange of goods and troops.
Eye: Throneworld possesses an exceptionally extensive sensory, communication and information array. It has everything from a Crystal-Grav Trap to exhaust analysis packages and other elaborate sensory arrays. It is very difficult to sneak up on the station and when it appears in a new sector, it often has complete informational awareness within a relatively short period of time.

WEAKNESSES
Human cost: It truly needs a staggering amount of sentient life to operate as its critical and non-critical crew. Very little of the station has been automated beyond what is necessary for the station to exist in the first place.
Non-Military: Has no means of fighting back in any meaningful way. It has point-defense systems and internal security measures, but it does not possess the ability to project power against other fleets. If the station is caught without its usual defensive fleet, it is a turtle that can only hunker down and either wait the storm out or hope for reinforcements.
Speed: Throneworld is not just slow in general, but slow even within its own class of super-structures. Relying on its sublight engines for anything other than micro-movements is an exercise in futility.
Maneuverability: Similar to the above. It is like an ox in syrup, no movement at all.
Synaptic Dependence: The bio-lock and synaptic command system are one of Throneworld’s most useful features, but they are also a point of centralization. If the system is disrupted, damaged or overloaded, the station does not stop working, but coordination becomes far more difficult. Orders have to move through the normal chain of command again, and in a structure of this scale, that means delay, confusion and mistakes.

DESCRIPTION
The construction of Throneworld was already well on its way before Mercy got her claws into the project. Originally, the gargantuan station was a collaborative project between several mega-corporations that were starting to worry about the state of the Galaxy. With the Planeshift happening only a short while ago and the resurgence of cruel regimes across the Galaxy, they believed it was necessary to work towards the preservation of sentient civilization on the off chance that another Planeshift event would happen and bring ruin to the Galaxy.
They poured not just their own funds into it, but also began the systematic extraction and exploitation of the Outer Rim and Unknown Regions to funnel more resources into a project they considered vital for the whole Galaxy. There are rumors that these same corporations were also heavily involved in the creation of another mega-construction that found its demise a while ago.
The rumors go even so far to speculate that they stole resources, funds and manpower that were destined for that mega-construct to be used here instead. And that was the reason why it was destroyed out of nowhere. Whatever the truth is, those mega-corps were caught unaware when the Sith Covenant started its invasion of Coruscant.
During the invasion Arris Windrun Arris Windrun pretended to be the Emperor himself, accusing his own inner-circle of treason and attempting to imprison him. After he initiated a purge, Imperials all across the Deep Core began to systematically exterminate each other. One side defending itself, the other attempting to follow the directive of their leader.
In the panic they attempted an emergency hyperspace jump away from Coruscant and towards a zone in the Deep Core that should have been safer. Instead, they jumped straight into the arms of the Auric Horde, which was chasing treasure ships out of Coruscant towards Byss.
Throneworld, or Preservation Station Zeta, was not yet complete. But the cultists of the Graspborn saw a prize that Mercy would covet beyond anything else.
They took the station, which was defenseless and easily overcome by their large fleet.
While her other Triumvirs rolled their eyes, Mercy was incredibly happy with the finding and ordered an immediate continuation of the project by the shipyards they conquered back in the Tapani Sector.
That region of opulence was also where Throneworld truly became worthy of its name. Taking inspiration from the old wealth of Tapani, using materials sourced directly from the region, the engineers made sure that Throneworld would be the seat worthy of an Empress.
The original purpose of Preservation Station Zeta was not entirely erased. It was simply buried underneath gold, bone, steel, flesh and vanity. Deep within the station there are still vast preservation vaults, climate-controlled archives, seed banks, medical wards, refugee quarters and habitation blocks that were meant to keep people alive in the event of galactic disaster.
Mercy did not destroy those sections. She repurposed them.
The refugee quarters became servant districts and barracks. The archives became trophy halls and sealed libraries. The preservation gardens became enclosed courts where rare plants grow around statues, war relics and the spoils of conquered worlds. Cargo holds meant for emergency supplies now receive tribute. Medical wings built for mass survival now serve the elite, the Graspborn, and whatever wounded thing Mercy considers worth keeping alive.
The more opulent sections are worse in their own way. Tapani marble, Kuat engineering, Coruscanti excess and Sith Covenant brutality all layered across one another until the original purpose of the station becomes difficult to see. Throne rooms overlook the curve of worlds below. Processional halls run for kilometers. Vast docking galleries receive delegations, loot convoys, prisoners, pilgrims and soldiers. There are entire districts on the station where a person could live and die without ever seeing the same sky twice.
Now Throneworld serves as Mercy’s seat of power. It is where she holds court and the center point of loot and bounty that is transferred from conquered worlds. The other Triumvirs, her apprentices, the Graspborn and others can be found among the opulent corridors as well.
Some of them probably still rolling their eyes as they take it all in.
