This Road of Life is Full of Bumps [Republic Social - PM, Otherwise]

[OOC: The purpose of this thread is to lift spirits, get to know each other better, and show Jannik in his element. So join in, and... enjoy!]

Jannik had shipped back to Coruscant from Tython on the fact that someone had summoned him, taken an interest in his learning on this new path.. and it had turned out that she’d been someone he’d already met. The first Jedi to show him their face, directly, to divert him off the path of certain self-destruction. But then she’d been called away, and she hadn’t come back. He’d waited, almost foolishly, for hours, sitting in the forum of the Great Hall, just outside the Room of a Thousand Fountains. He’d gotten looks upon looks, questions that he largely brushed off, and… there he sat, until his stomach could bear it no more.

He was on Coruscant for another day, hence, and now had nothing to do but bide his time until he had to head back to Tython. Fortunately, he’d brought along a couple changes of clothes, and his quetarra… so the next best thing was to change, grab a bite to eat and a pint at a cantina nearby to the Coruscant Temple that was more-or-less calm this evening, and find a corner to sit in and be with his music.

Things had been going so quickly, and dare he say well, but he should have known something would come up. Something would throw a wobble in it all. Sitting there in the cantina - whose name he did not catch - the relatively new padawan nursed an ale, his quetarra across his lap, as his eyes were drawn to the holonews, still covering outcome of the Battle of O’reen, and the fresh Treaty of Telos between the Galactic Republic and the Lords of the Fringe that had come of it. It made him consider that for all his problems, war had not been one of them, and for that he was fortunate.

If anything, war gave the average person plenty of reason to drink, and it wasn’t long before other patrons began to filter in… among them, some of the faces he’d fielded questions from, hours before. For his part, Jannik kept to himself and his stringed instrument, strumming not loudly, humming a tune, and thinking on what the future might hold, and what his place was in the grand scheme of things. Were anyone to join him, he wouldn't deny them... in fact, he'd be more than happy to have a chat about anything, and maybe lift some spirits.

Ayumi was relaxing, it wasn't often she was on Coruscant without things to do. The minor duties she had not really becoming a bother outside of mercy missions around the galaxy. She had taken to finding relaxation wherever she could as it were which was why she had come down there to this place and now was sitting back in a seat with a drink. Her mind letting her be at some level of ease.

Singing a low volume, meandering song more for himself than anyone else, Jan watched as patrons came in, found themselves places to sit, ordered drinks, and talked amongst themselves. Not everyone of course, had come as a pair or group, and it was something he noted of @[member="Ayumi Pallopides"] when she came in. She was a fair, modest beauty, and clearly, did not try to call too much attention to herself.

She had, however, nabbed a table next to his, and when his song tapered off, and the plucking of strings stopped, he would have hopefully thought of some way to strike up conversation with her. The trick, as always, was to not sound lame doing it. So, when his soft playing was done, he rested the quetarra for the time being, picked his ale up off the tabletop, and shifted to the side edge of his seat closest to her.

"Ahm... excuse'm. D'ye come 'ere often, lass?" He asked. Well, that was alright. This was, surprisingly, his first time in this particular cantina, and he thus had no clue as to its regular clientele. He may have been from Coruscant, but he hadn't been born here. He may have been a musician, with a band that was starting to do well until recently, and had played his share of establishments... but they had never gotten near the temple. "Ahm new around 'ere, in a manner o'speakin'"

Speaking of the Treaty Of Telos, the photos in the news and holovid showed two people, signing the treaty and shaking hands... Ashin Varanin, and Josh DragonsFlame. Ironically enough, one half of the equation walked into the cantina, looking much more relaxed then he did weeks before. He had been at the Battle Of O'Reen himself, and had dealt with enough war, back to back wars with The Sith Empire and The Fringe, to merit wanting peace as soon as he could. When he saw the faint glimmer of a chance, he took it. And now here they were.

Josh yawned as he took a seat at the bar, shooting a smile toward the bartendress, before ordering a drink. He would need one after all the work that had been done over the last month. A chance to relax, he needed that.

Askrut sat a few tables down from @[member="Jannik Morlandt"]. Coruscant.... this was a whole new world to him. O'reen had been harsh, to harsh, and he just needed some time off. a short glass in his hand, the bothan began, a low, hollow sound. The song, in bothese, may sound familiar to some, but not identical to any other.

"met drank my
om dae
verby
Om die lewe
wat gebruik
wees
Laat die wyn van vriendskap
Nooit droë Vroue hardloop
Drink met my
om dae
verby
Om die lewe
wat gebruik
wees
By die heiligdom van vriendskap
Nooit sê sterf

alle
Hier is vir julle
En hier is
Vir my is ..."

Josh closed his eyes and nodded along to the music, taking a sip of his drink. A yawn escaped his lips as he relaxed himself. It was rest time, and justly deserved. It was nice to just be able to close your eyes and know that a lightsaber wasn't going into your back, yknow?

It was... Unusually quiet. It brought him a bit of unease. But perhaps it was just one of those days?
