This Ain't Twilight (Open Saber Training)

This time she really did giggle like a school girl, she couldn't help it. Spurred on by her friends congratulations. The lapse in concentration didn't last long though and she soon regained her composure and stepped into the mud pit carefully. Feeling the mud shift under her feet was a scary sensation, but she found her balance and took a few more steps into the brown sludge.

She felt uneasy on her feet as the weight of the training saber finally took hold of her arms. It was heavy to hold up and the stance didn't make it any easier. She locked her gaze onto his face and took a step forward, swinging the training saber upward and toward his right side. The next few minutes were going to be incredibly intense or incredibly embarrassing. Una couldn't tell which one was worse.

“Am I too late?”

Dagos had only just heard about this training opportunity but he did not want to miss it. Any chance to learn was one that Dagos could not afford to miss, the majority of his life was spent just getting by, but not as a JedI, as a JedI would represent something more and he would give it his all to represent that something in a positive way and that meant getting as good as he could at what ever he could.

Today that something was light saber training and if his experience with training with Master [member="Saki"] taught him anything, it was that he needed to practice. He reached up and felt at his nose, it had healed up nicely, you’d never even be able to tell it had been broken.

He looked around at the rest of the group and saw he was the odd man out, Kark it all, he didn’t want to be left out of the lesson, although observing could be just as informative.

As they were paired off Chi'Yara listened silently for his name, making his way over to [member="Jeela Tillian "]once everything was set in motion. At the sound of another voice he turned his head to glance at who had spoken, recognizing the man from one of his earlier lessons with another Master.
Offering a faint smile he turned back to Jeela, having recalled her from the same training match. "I believe we've already met earlier, but I don't think we had a chance to properly introduce ourselves. The name's Chi'Yara."

Ellain had once more been silent and began to turn the blade in her hands as the others were talking with eachother. She didn't trust them but they sounded like a fun group to be around, perhaps she would have fun later but for she remained silent as she turned her saber in her hands. Only after that did she nod to [member="Nima Tann"] and breath in, holding the saber and her stance as the master had said.

Jeela nodded her head in acknowledgement, "I am Jeela Tillian. Honored to make your acquaintance." He was taller than her, easily enough, but looked several years younger. That would make things interesting. The question would be how experienced he was. Strength and momentum could be evaded. Cunning could not be so easily evaded. "Shall we begin?"

She stepped back with her right foot, and lifted her blade up to point vertical on her right side, waiting, and settling herself in the Force, waiting.

Syn moved with her, his blade spinning as he watched the padawan move and that danger sense jedi developed had him spinning the blade until it met hers. His feet not leaving the jedi ready stance until he took a step forward and brought the blade a little closer to his chest so he could almost flex and struck going for a quick strike aimed at Una's shoulder at half speed to give her a chance to defend. The footing he took focused as not to make him slip and splash the padawan as a small breeze made the hairs bristle and rise.

She winced as their blades hit off one another, shuffling her feet forward into the correct stance again. Her jaw dropped as she watched him flex. Entirely too focused on his rippling muscles, the blade struck her in the arm. She hissed at the burn, jolting sideways and slipping over into the muddy mess. It covered her arms, legs and torso. But her hands managed to catch her before she could land face first. So, today was going to be more embarrassing then intense. She didn't waste any time, pushing herself from the floor and positioning herself correctly again. Her blade swung right, a false swing that quickly changed to a swipe to his torso. Her arm stung mildly but she braced the pain.

Master of Her Own Destiny
As she took her teammate's approval, she thought her tactics, she was not looking very experienced, but she was like a mystery box so she had to be careful when attacking, then finalizing her tactics, she took her combat stance, as Master [member="Syn"] instructed. She winked to [member="Ellain Hadrin"] and started her first attack, to Ellain's training saber to surprise her with a quick swing, and succesfully hit her. "You... need to focus for the fight" she said and smiled, trying not to be rude as she prepared for an other attack.

Chi'Yara answered by way of taking the ready stance he'd been taught, drawing on the Force momentarily, knowing that even in a sparring match the ethereal field could serve its own purpose. He hadn't had much chance to train besides a training session with one who had offered to train him and another group session not too dissimilar to the one now.
After a moment he finally struck, swinging his blade toward her torso at half speed, unsure of how experienced she herself was when it came to fighting. By now he was focused entirely on their sparring match, having done his best to shut off any external stimuli that wasn't all but necessary.

"Riight sorry." She gripped the training saber and swung it, quite clumsyly at the woman, cursing inside that she had no idea how to use something this long practically. She was used to her rifles and a dagger at best, now she had to deal with this method she barely had any chance at being able to do was funny at best.

The washed up brute of a man Cable Smith stood next to [member="Dagos Terrek"] and watched the lesson go down. Wearing his black leather duster and cowboy hat the Jedi looked as if he had came from the set of desperado. Arguably not the greatest material to fight in but it was what he found comfort and solace in. With his training lightsaber clipped to his waist Cable took off his hat and pulled a small flask from his headwear. With a small twitch in his left hand he opened the flask almost shakily then took a large swig of the liquid that was more than likely some sort of alcoholic beverage.

Cable was grateful for the Jedi to take him in and save his life, and he would learn to become strong so that one day he could do the same for them. But for now he was barely a Jedi, he had a lightsaber and a walking stick, how he was going to look like a galactic peace keeper he did not know. But for now it was for the best that he minded himself and did what the Jedi told him to do to a reasonable extent.

"I have got to find the tailor for the master outfit, cause damn." Making a small jest Cable's hand twitched again taking one last swig before passing the flask to the man who had saved his life.

Jeela frowned at the half-speed strike, and slipped backwards, bring her own blade to parry it fairly easily. She shook her head. "Do not hold back. It will make your practice less useful and potentially even harmful as the habits from training will carry into battle." She returned to the Jedi stance, "You do not need to fear harming me. Nothing from this will be serious."

She retook the stance, waiting for the next one.

[[[member="Cable Smith"] and [member="Dagos Terrek"] you two pair off and practice, more or less you were here in the group and are taking the place of npc students]]

[member="Una Gal"]

His senses flared when she almost fell face first and seeing the padawan rise again he gave a nod while moving the blade back into the jedi ready stance. His focus on what she was doing for now and she struck feinting and then slashing as his hands shifted bringing his the saber to block as he pivoted in the mud and spun around a little slipping in his own right and falling on his butt with a splat of mud going over him in some places. Syn rose letting the mud drip and run down as he spoke with a nod. "Very good padawan." His smirk remained before moving forward and adjusting as he slashed at an angle from left hip to right should then tried for an overhead.

Dagos had a swing from the flask and screwed up his face at the taste, it wasn’t the worst or the strongest drink he’d ever had, in fact he could recall getting drunk on a home made wine back on Haruun Kal with a couple girls from his tribe, and boy was that something else.

“I, don’t know brother, that jacket really works for you. But I guess you and I are paired up, yeah?”

Dagos ignited his training saber and shifted into the form I ready stance, waiting for cable to make his move.

Watching him fall over in the mud was torture. She was so tempted to join him in the sludge. As he stood up she prepared herself again. His chest was dripping, it was almost making her drool. Struggling to focus she brought her saber up again and prepared for his next attack. Or was she supposed to attack? Then the blade came swinging toward her. Having a small body meant having quick reactions, it was one of the things she prided herself on the most. As it came from an angle toward the left side of her body, she dove sideways. For a few sickening minutes she was airborne and heading straight for the mud again. Her feet met with the ground, spraying brown flecks out toward the edges of the arena. She wasted no time. From her crouching position she spun, swinging the blade for the back of his heels.

Capping his flask and taking a step back Cable gave Dagos a quick smile before drawing his own training saber. Now normally Cable would prefer to use a trusty revolver slug thrower since most space magic couldn't stop gravity and physics. But this was a lightsaber training session so it was only right to use a lightsaber. With his walking stick in hand and saber in the other the green blade extended from the hilt with a snap hiss that most sabers gave when they went off.

Sizing up his opponent Cable could see that Dagos was a worthy training partner and that this would become a rather fun bout of back and forth. "Try not to cry when you lose." With a soft chuckle it was time to strike. Cable's father was a Jedi, and he trained his son on the basics of lightsaber combat. Cable wasn't the best at it and he doubted himself immensely when it came to it. But this was why he was here to get better at what he lacked in.

Coming forward with a quick two strikes aimed at the upper chest of Dagos, Cable would have to follow through with a heavy strike to try and throw his opponent off balance. As fast as the first tie blow came Cable turned about in a spinning motion to gain some momentum with his wooden walking staff. With a straight thrust the solid block of wood would be aimed at the rib cage of his opponent.

Syn watched and jumped at her sweep for his heels coming out of the mud and letting the force wrap around to suspend him for a moment before he came down a little ways away. His chest getting some more mud on him and his was breathing lightly a steady up and down. The smile on his face a small beads of mud in his face while he moved towards her and slid in the mud slashing to knock at her lower stance and trying to drop her into the mud with him while he felt it sliding along his back.

He caught her chest with his blade, making her grunt and winding her. She flew forward slightly, her head diving in the direction of his legs. Sliding through the mud for a few seconds, she landed on her back, her chest pumping up and down heavily as she struggled to regain her breath. She turned her head, finding herself face to face with the inside of Master Syn's thigh. That was enough to make her inhale deeply and scramble to her feet. Whether it was from the battle or from how she landed, Una's cheeks were a bright pink. Resuming the jedi stance, her hands wrung around the hilt of the blade as she waited for him to stand too.

He felt the weight on his body and grunted a little when she was on top of him moving a hand to brush against and push her up. He moved watching her with the force stand up as he kipped up with a small snap and stood there brushing mud off his hair. She was doing good and as he spoke. "Very good recovery padawan Gal. You are showing a talent."

He looked around at the other who were working and gave a nod of his head in approval. They were doing well. "You have all done well, gather your strength and return here." He waited to let them line up as he moved brushing the mud from his hair and innocently tussled Una's hair to get his hand with a smirk. She was a skilled padawan and he was glad she had come. "You have all done well and this will build your foundation. Now what form do you wish to learn."

Her arms dropped as she let her guard down, her shoulders sinking with the weight of her saber. She sighed happily and brought her feet together, wiping mud away from her cheeks. The blade of her saber disignited and thin wisps of smoke curled their way out of the end. Moving into line she felt impressed and proud with herself too. Clearly she had impressed Master Syn. She felt her fridge rustle against her forehead and his hand press against the top of her head. Turning her head, she gave him a dimpled smile, her cheeks still blushing from the short spar. "Thank you Master Syn." Her head bobbed down in a quick bow and she then decided to fix her own hair. Her fingers nimbly ficked the specks of hardened mud that clung to her head. In all honesty she was open to learn anything. And as a response turned to look at the other padawans.
