They All Go Bump in the Night

Alderaan
Aldera city limits

Faith stood there looking out there were sounds that she had never heard before, sounds that she knew could not be anything that had lived on Alderaan when she was a child.

What had the Sith done to her home? She looked out to see what manner of changes were closest by, the reports from the north from the snowcapped mountains that the progression had not moved forward now in a month. Faith was finally beginning to believe that it was true Alderaan was fighting for its own life.

What Faith was planning to try and do, was to sell off some of the vong creations. Not to those that wanted to create more of them but to those that wanted to perform tests to create a way to defeat the Vong and their organic armies.

When she reached out one person so far had responded [member="Jaster of Clan Awaud"] she did not know this man nor did she know if he had a reputation. Yes she had been spoken to by many that she should check into it, make sure he was legitimate.

He agreed to come to Alderaan, if anything went wrong, there was the creature under the palace. She smiled.

Jaster arrived on the planet on time with his forces. They were told to wait aboard the troop transports and drop ships till he could speak with Miss. Organa. This was Jasters first visit to Alderaan, though he had been to many of the surrounding planets multiple times, he didn't like the crowded spacelanes. He was contacted by a representative of the planet and traded some very valuable creature and in exchange, Jaster takes as many of them has he pleased to an offsite zoo. Well Jaster called it a zoo, but it was more of a wildlife observation site, very sciency yet a hint of military.

He was the CEO of Umbrella Interest, and Represenative of the Trade Coalition, he needed the creatures for both medical ad military reasons. He chose to arrive on the planet to study these animals for their genetic traits, possible create smaller creature that could act as demesticaded pets or capable of use for resources. Vong tech was highly in misunderstood and considered taboo for most scientist to even consider studying. Jaster however was the leading Genetisist in the galaxy and become the first non-Vong to properly understand Vong Tech.

He didn't know if this represnative knew this when she contacted him, but he was here for a reason. Along with him he brought Trade Conglomerate Ships to transport his speciments to an off site facility if needed. Though he did carry lab equipment with him so he could study them in the field.

He walked up to where he was to meet Miss. Organa, and he waited.

Faith had heard rumors, and then had a member of the Senate do a little checking on [member="Jaster of Clan Awaud"] . As long as they were going to have the creations of the Vong on Alderaan even though word came every week of how they were dying.

Faith would try to help anyone who needed to be able to study the creatures. Faith turned when she heard the footsteps of someone approaching. She did not recognize him but here on Alderaan so far there was no worry of assassins.

“Greetings, welcome to Alderaan. I’m Faith Balor-Organa, are you Jaster?” She smiled and took a few steps towards him to get a look and to be sure to extend her hand for him to shake it. She had learned in the last few trips that not everyone kissed the hand of royalty anymore, some considered it demeaning Faith found it inconvenient annoyance.

She smiled as she held out her hand in greeting.

Jaster was a natural buisness man, honors to nobility and a politician was common in his field. He'd been a member of a few Sith Lords and even neutral worlds royalty. This however was his first open meeting of a Republic Senator, he never truely was accepted by Republic officials by his nature of Buisness, but no one was to blame, Jaster visited Corasunt more then the republic capital.

He grasped the senators hand and shook it as he bowed his head, "Jaster Awaud at your service, it is an honor and pleasure to meet a member of the Balor-Organa Clan," Jaster received from his bow and released his grip of the representatives hand, "now, how may the Umbrella Interest Biological Division be of assistance to you today Ma'am?"

He was paying his zoologist by the hour not the prey they caught, so this would have to be strait to buisness. Jaster userally buttered up the people he was to commit a contract with so he could get the better deal. This however could not happen as the creatures he was interested in were possibly close to being endangered, and would require a permit to study by the republic.

“the pleasure is mine to meet you Jaster of Clan Awuad “ She grasped his hand firmly and then was released thank you she thought.

Faith smiled and turned, “Out there the world of Alderaan has experienced vong forming of our planet, and while reports are that it is recovering on its own. The situation presents an opportunity to study what they left behind for the future.” Faith was not one to beat around the bushes she preferred the direct method it made things much easier.

“I was wondering if you would be interested in some samples” Dark eyes showed curiosity she had tried in the past but none had come, he was the first. Would what was out there be of help to another world? Could they find something to fight the vong forming before it destroyed someone else’s home.

Jaster almost couldn't believe it, Vong tech that was living in an ecosystem not designed for them. Jaster had always been deeply fascinated with any Biologival Engineering as well as Genome Modification, it was why it was his field of study. The senator must had done her homework if she invited Jaster, he studied Vong manipulation more then the Vong themselfs. Their tech was worth multi-billions to people in Jasters field, samples or specimens were priceless as many died in the 400 year Darkness. Other were so attuned to their ecosystem that they no longer carried their Vong genome structure. He couldn't show how excited he was about this, not until after his negosiations.

"Umbrella Specilizes in Biological Situration, revers engineering of a long lost Technology is a diffrent difficulty of its own, what exactly is the Alderaan Goverment hoping to accomplish here within the capacity of my company."

Jaster was lieing, he could reverse engineer anything, with time and money he could do really anything. He just wanted to know what the true mission of this senator was, domestic animals, new resources, Weapons?

[member="Jaster of Clan Awaud"]

What did she want to accomplish, she looked over, “A fair question for certain. It’s about helping others really, if someone can make use of this” Faith pointed out beyond Aldera City, “if you can make it so that no one has to suffer as Alderaan has suffered”

Faith looked down it was an emotional subject and she tried not to show it so much in front of strangers, “That” She looked up and then over to Jaster , “That would take all the bad that happened here and turn it into something good.”

She sighed, “Can your company do that?”

[member="Faith Balor-Organa"]

Jaster looked at the young senator, they truely were getting younger every time he visited the republic. She was genuinely worried about the people she represented on this planet. Yet she didn't truely answer Jaster question, "Ma'am, the question is not whether my company can fix this problem, but what you would have us do with it."

Vong Tech is very safisicated stuff, it's taken Jaster nearly most if not all his scientific career to become a novice in Vong Lifeshaping. His company could easily create a pluage to kill only creatures with modified DNA, all Vong creators carry them up to 20 generations. Another option Jaster would be able to do was find a Vong creature capable of creating a new resource for these people. Vong only had creatures with a purpose, armor, ships, and even weapons were all created with bioscience. Of course this too years in the making for these creatures to even be of use. Jaster fixed that with one of two ways, extra testosrone levels in males, or cloning for 3 generations.

Jaster could of course take these creatures to an off site location, a huge migration of Vong animals to another facility. Jaster would then experiment and increase his knowlage of Vong Lifeshaping and create new creatures that he could use as a resource and sell to the highest bidder.

She thought she had said it, "I want to know if you can use these as specimens to develop a way to prevent another planet from being vong formed" She had not thought to ask him to fix Alderaan.

Alderaan was fighting for it's own life it was even now fighting back the vong forming it would be a decade before they could be sure it was truly leaving, dying, becoming one with the cosmos. Should she ask him about Alderaan?

Would he consider taking specimens in exchange for a way to remove the, was it possible. She didn't know how to proceed she had only thought to help others by offering the specimens. She bit her lip for one moment as she thought,

"Do you have a way to reverse the vong forming already?" Hope, she had a sliver of hope.

[member="Faith Balor-Organa"]

Jaster just couldn't help himself, she must have skipped that chapter in her intel on him. Jaster could of course do a full change of an entire ecosystem with time, make a Vong world into a Umbrella World. It wasn't too difficult, but it of course would require a whole lot of time and money. Jaster had his hands on the only genetics altering machine beside that of the Vong, Jaster Genome Cylinder was a very delicate machine and even more elaborate and safisicated. It was the sole thing Jaster needed to reverse engineer or create any type of creation he would require. There of course were other ways that Umberella would be able to change, kill, or subdue Vong creatures, depending what type of creaters were on Alderaan.

"Well the tech of fighting off Vong biological changes is available, there are a multitude of ways to counteract the effects with what we can do, we have specialist who can create creatures who eat Vong fungus or plants, even creatures that can hunt Vong Creatures, this of course is not cheap at all, so what would be the best bet would be to create a pathogen that would keep their population regulated until we can properly change them from Vong Bio-Creatures, to something you and your people can domesticate and use.

[member="Jaster of Clan Awaud"]

Domesticate and use. She had not thought of that either would they want to do that? Faith suddenly felt very out of her depth, and without the proper knowledge she could make a very bad decision. "I cannot make the decisions one, I do not have the right knowledge, two my mother controls what decisions are made for the best of Alderaan." Faith bit her lip a bit nervous now she hated not knowing something, it would plague her terrible.

"How would a pathogen work?" She looked at him, serious, waiting for information. "I will have to brief the High Council and my mother so all the detail you could give me, I would appreciate" Would it take all the credits that Alyesa had sent, or was it possible to just wait the decade to see what happen.

Decisions, decisions.

[member="Faith Balor-Organa"]

Jaster realized that this women was a politician, scientific wording would not get his plans across to her. Geneticis was a very delicate process, for the Vong, it took generations to even create a single creature, other it took days. Jaster replicated this to create creatures that were modified in weeks to months, any more time and they were creatures from scratch. He was not at the level of creation just yet, he could only modify.

"Well madam senator, a genome pathogen is a virus or bacteria that would act as nanites, they would target a specific living organism with a range of genetic difference and their life's would be in our control," he circled his hands thinking of how to desribe the next bit so she wouldn't be confused, "after that-.... well my team would be able to do almost anything, kill them off, modify their behavior, maybe even change them into an entirely different creature, we aren't limited to what the Vong were, these creatures are already here and their DNA structure should be within the normal peramitors, unfortunately these methods are illigal in the republic, we would have to get permission from the senate before proceeding."

[member="Jaster of Clan Awaud"]

“So you would send an organism that you control into the creatures and then modify them through the organism you control?” This sounded very much like a show she watched on late night holos.

“Yes we would have to ask, it is quite a fearful power you have there as it would seem you could use it on any species” Need there be more words she was sure he would know what she implied.

Faith clasped her hands behind her back.

“Would you want samples of the creatures that are here?” Had he answered that while she had been so bewildered.

[member="Faith Balor-Organa"]

Jaster was glad to be praised for his work and that of his company. What he and his company were capable were primitive to that of the Vong. He could only create a pathogen that would have to be pre-programmed with genetic modification virus, the Vong could terraform a planet with the same pathogen. The Vong would create new species from scratch, Jaster needed an original platform to modify, and yet many still called him crazy or mad.

Jaster did I fact answer this question before, but pretended not to have mentioned it before hand, "Ahh, yes, my zoologist will be dispatched to collect and tag as many of the creatures as we can and then see if they can be modified, some might have evolved to quickly and require more hands on approach, otherwise, just agree and we will get started on our work."

Faith nodded, her writer gets forgetful when typing and apologizes for Faith asking the same question again.

“Collect your samples Jaster, I really would like to see something good come out of all this Something that helped the galaxy. Something” She paused thinking and looking out over her home, “good”

Her chin dropped down tilting her head as she sighed, “There is a creature beneath the palace, my mother refuses to go in the palace.” Faith made a face, “I hate the thought of killing something just because it’s not warm and fluffy”

Faith put a hand out onto the railing, “maybe it can moved” She hoped.

“Jaster, forgive my bad manners, can I offer you a drink, water perhaps?” She had a few other things but she wasn’t sure if he would take something stronger.

[member="Jaster of Clan Awaud"]

[member="Faith Balor-Organa"]

Jaster was somewhat confused by the senators request, what type of creature would scare the queen of this planet and yet not be dead yet. The senator either took mercy on the creature, or it was too strong for the Royal Guard to finish off. Either way Jasters scientist would have a field day with any new creature Jaster was able to get his hands on. Vong modified creatures were considered rare, and the possibility of reverse engineering one would be interesting.

Jaster raised a hand and waved in declining the drink, "It is quite alright ma'am, I already had food and drink before arriving, as for the creature, depending on how big it is, my scientist will be climbing over each other to study whatever creature you have down there, I can have my officers displaced to retrieve and subdue the creature if you wish?"

“It is a leviathan Jaster, have you ever seen one or dealt with one?” She had only glimpsed inside the room where the creature was kept. And while many were encouraging Queen Arianna to keep it, Arianna felt it was too much of a reminder of what the Sith had done to Alderaan.

Faith wasn’t sure of many things, and she felt over whelmed and out of her field of knowledge. She would have to rely on Jaster to be honest, truthful, and help her to understand.'

[member="Jaster of Clan Awaud"]

[member="Faith Balor-Organa"]

A Leviathan! Was she crazy?

"Madam Senator, your telling me you have a Leviathan under us at this moment," Jaster paused to gather his thoughts, "The Life Sucker of legend, created by the renowned sith alchemist Lord Muur?"

Jaster was an avid fan of the sithspawn creator, but this, this would be very difficult.

[member="Jaster of Clan Awaud"]

"We have a prisoner that tell us it is exactly that, we haven't found any records to say that it isn't" Faith could see the look in his eyes, "all those things I cannot confirm Jaster, but yes"

I checked with the Sith who set it up and she says yes it is a leviathan

[member="Faith Balor-Organa"]

Jaster looked at the old reports of the creature, apparently such things were created and sent to alderaan, the Sith truly had a dark since of humor. Jaster would have to request more Officers to quell this beast, he would be lucky to take the thing alive, if at all.

"Don't worry Senator, I will do my best to clear this beast out for you and your citizens, but I would of course ask of you as a senator something in return, I was named Viceroy of a Trade Conglomerate some months ago, my Board Members have asked that we create a Trade Treaty with the Republic, is there by any chance that this can be accomplished?"
