FINAL DAWN
SELVARIS, WILD SPACE

A Single Sith Infiltrator Shuttle proceeded to land in a small clearing in front of a dungeon located deep within the jungles of the World of Selvaris. As TIEs soared above, and a large warship loomed over the horizon, the Shuttle unloaded its passengers revealing a single man wearing a Crimson-colored Neo-Imperial Uniform escorted by a dozen heavily-armored soldiers. As they began walking towards the dungeon, they were met by three cloaked individuals, with the man in the uniform proceeding to walk forward with his men close behind.

Is he here?” he asked. “Yes…Lord Regent. Just as you requested” one of the cloaked individuals said in response, speaking in a slow but eerily tone. “Good. I hope you witches haven’t already broken him, it would be rather…unfortunate to lose a potential asset that could be of better use to us.” he said. The cloaked individual remained silent, stepping aside as the Regent and his entourage proceeded to venture into the dungeon ready to claim their prize.

Eventually, the Regent and his entourage were led to a hallway which contained many cells, including the one which held an individual whom the Regent had taken a great degree of interest in, a Jedi Master having been imprisoned and tortured by the Brotherhood of the Maw. Whether they have successfully “broken” him or not was still unknown to the Regent but as long as the Jedi Master wasn’t insane everything could go as planned.

Soon enough, the Regent arrived in front of the cell of the Jedi Master taking a quick look at the man who was currently chained to the walls, before turning around to face the Witch who brought them here. “Leave us” the Regent ordered. Soon enough the witches left and as they left, the mysterious Regent spoke once more, proceeding to introduce himself. “I assume you must be the former Jedi Master Tarus Undara, it's a pleasure to meet with you atlast.” he said with a grin.

"... and your bones will sing the songs of Dathomir, a testament to our magicks and a monument to the Dark Side."

Tarus' eyes remained closed as the Witch spoke. If he focused hard enough, he could channel Ashla and block a portion of her vile trickery. Rarely did it suffice, but even a small buffer against the Dark Side was better than taking the brunt of its influence. Just as he could feel the darkness chipping away at his defenses, an unfamiliar voice ended her monologue.

"Leave us."

The Witch and her brood took their leave without protest, but it didn't bring the reprieve Tarus had hoped for.

Tarus raised his head as high as he could manage, peering at the Lord Regent through bloodied brows. The grotesque scar across the Jedi's face was bright red, having been freshly 'healed' by the Witches. Claw marks, whip lashes, and strange runes carved into his flesh left him looking more like a piece of meat than a man.

In all senses of the word, he looked like hell.

"There's no need... for 'former,'" Tarus began slowly, his breathing labored from the pain.

"I am... Jedi Master... Tarus Undara..."

He glared at Marlon with eyes full of solace, though an unmistakable brokenness lingered there too.

"There's no need... for 'former, I am... Jedi Master... Tarus Undara..."
Sularen took some time to examine the imprisoned Jedi Master. There was a massive scar that ran across his face and it was clear that the Witches had done some serious damage, a testament to the extreme brutality shared by the many subgroups of the Maw, the same type of brutality that made them both feared and hated across the galaxy. Nevertheless, Sularen had a Jedi Master at his grasp, one who could help him further advance his nefarious agenda. Even though he knew about the unbreakable resolve of Jedi and their extreme devotion to their religion, Sularen still knew that this one could be reasoned with, in the right circumstances.

"You know, it's been a while since i've met a Jedi, Master Undara, and so far most of those encounters have been enlightening to say the least." Sularen said. "Now, let's get you out of this hell hole where you can receive proper treatment." the High Regent proclaimed. He then motioned to two of his
soldiers and then proceeded to speak. "Put a Shock Collar on him, i do not want to deal with any 'surprises'" he ordered. The soldiers complied and proceeded to open the prison cell before proceeding to place a shock collar around Tarus Undara's neck. He was already in chains, but Sularen had experience in fights with Jedi, they were dangerous and unpredictable, and Sularen would rather be safe then dismembered.

Sularen then looked at the Jedi Master once more and spoke once more. "Can you walk, Master Undara? It seems that those Witches have done a serious amount of damage on your body" he said.

Tarus winced as the soldiers collared him, though the less from the physical pain than his pure hatred for shackles; There was simply nothing more a Lorrdian hated than being kept as a pet.

He glared at the Lord Regent as the soldiers fastened the shock collar around his throat.

“I can walk,” he said curtly as he lifted his battered body from the floor with shaky legs.

Tarus stepped forward, under the ominous glow of an overhead lamp. In the pale-yellow light, Marlon would see the full extent of the Jedi’s wounds: Cuts and tears crisscrossed his flesh from the legs up, ending in an impressively deep gash across his chest. An ominous residue seeped from the wound, black in color and seemingly inhuman. No doubt the work of the Witches who’ve punished him all these weeks.

He stood before the Lord Regent, his demeanor stoic and his posture full of defiant pride.

“What do you want from me?” Tarus asked through gritted teeth.

Patrons of the Maw never move without a plan.

“I can walk,”
As the Jedi Master walked into the light, the High Regent saw the true extent of the damage inflicted upon him, Cuts and tears all across his body, a massive wound across his chest from which some sort of black residue seemed to seep out from. This had to be no doubt, the work of the Witches that had kept him imprisoned for all those weeks, although Sularen considered the Jedi Master to be lucky as what those witches had inflicted upon him paled in comparison to the other horrors inflicted to prisoners of the Maw by major Mawite figures such as Kyrel Ren, Solipsis and Tu'teggacha.

As the Jedi Master stood infront of him, Sularen could see the determination and the defiance that remained within the Jedi Master which impressed him considering the hardships inflicted upon him. Although he wasn't surprised, Jedi were relentless in their pursuit of defending the status-quo that they had imposed upon the galaxy for millennia along with the many democratic powers they had served alongside with. Sularen had always viewed them as self-righteous individuals, who saw themselves as morally superior to every being, just the unique powers bestowed upon them. Unwilling to compromise with those who they opposed, no different from the many powers they had served alongside with such as the Galactic Alliance.

Then the Jedi asked THE Question, the one that many others would ask if they were in the same situation as Tarus Undara

“What do you want from me?”
Sularen smiled before responding. "Patience my friend. All your questions will be answered soon enough. For now you should consider yourself fortunate that i'm taking you away from this hellhole you've been stuck in for a while, and as it shows, those witches have taken a toll on you. Although even then it could have been worse. Far worse then you could have ever imagined." It was nice to toy around with the Jedi Master, leave him in the dark and take some time before making him aware of his true intentions. After all Sularen had many enemies across the galaxy, and the last thing he wanted as for his next projects to be exposed and dismantled by those very same foes.

"Now is there anything else you'd like to ask? If you don't have one then i believe it's time we leave this forsaken place." Sularen added. Before proceeding to turn around and head towards the exit and motioning for the Jedi Master to follow him as the soldiers positioned themselves around the two men as to escort them out of the dungeon where the
Regent's Shuttle awaited them.

Tarus followed Sularen’s lead, stepping slowly across the flagstones. He cast a sideways glance to the soldiers who flanked him, sizing them up for good measure. Without his lightsaber, he’d end up wounded at best - or dead, at worst - if he tried to take them on. But it never hurts to study the enemy. It was a tactic his good friend Elias Edo Elias Edo would certainly approve of.

The shape of the Lord Regent’s shuttle was a bittersweet visage, a double-edged sword awaiting him on the landing pad outside. If he boarded it, Tarus would be free from the clutches of the Witch’s brood… but at what cost?

Marlon Sularen was a blight to the Alliance, a dangerous foe with a mean streak - and that’s putting it kindly. He was a traitor, hardly the savior he seemed to be. Tarus shuddered to think of what machinations the Lord Regent was spinning.

But did he have a choice? Was it better to die a slave, or to sell your soul to see another day?

Is there even a difference?

“Where-“ he groaned through the pain, “-are we going?”

Sularen, Undara and the Raptors would soon make it out Dungeon where the High Regent's Sith Shuttle would come into view parked in a clearing within the thick Jungle. It's Ramp was already laid out with two Raptor Commandos standing guard calmly waiting for the return of the Regent. As they approached the vessel, the Jedi Master proceeded to ask yet another question for Sularen.
“Where-...-are we going?”

Without turning to face the Jedi Master, Sularen proceeded to respond speaking in the same calm and reserved tone as usual. "As i said earlier, Master Undara. Your questions will be answered in time." Sularen knew the tactic the Jedi Master was trying to utilizing, constantly asking questions in the hopes of trying to find out what his angle was. After all, this was what he had done with various other individuals in the past during prior meetings with them. As long as his didn't let his Guard down for even a second, Undara would remain oblivious to the true intentions of the High Regent.

Eventually, High Regent, the Jedi Master and the Raptors would board the Sith Shuttle with Sularen taking Undara to the cockpit of the Shuttle taking a seat within a chair behind those occupied by the two shuttle pilots in the front and motioning for the Jedi Master to take a seat right beside him. "Please take a seat, Master Undara. I'm sure you will like where we are headed, at least in comparison to that Dungeon where you were held for months now by those 'witches'." Soon, the Shuttle would take off, proceeding to begin it's long ascent into Selvaris's atmosphere towards it's ultimate destination, where the High Regent could begin the first phase of his plans for the Jedi Master.

Tarus took each step reluctantly, though his wary eyes did covet the amenities that even a simple shuttle would guarantee. At the very least, there wouldn't be a Dathomiri aboard, waiting to carve at his flesh.

He hoped.

As anticipated, the Regent continued to stonewall his questions. Were he not so weak, Tarus would have chanced an attempt to manipulate Sularen into disclosing his plans through the Force - but even if he were at his best, he suspected that his new captor had the willpower to sustain through such tactics. If Tarus wanted to learn more, he'd have to follow along with the Regent's ploy.

The battered Jedi shambled up the landing ramp, following Sularen's lead to cockpit. It was curious enough to allow a prisoner to join the crew, even on a small vessel such as this. But to permit your enemy to join you at the helm of the ship? A grave mistake, or a well-calculated risk, depending on who you ask.

"Flattery--" Tarus groaned as he took his seat, "will not work on me-- High Regent."

"The Maw never moves-- without a plan--"

The Jedi's fiery gaze was locked on the glass, staring through it as the shuttle rose above the jungle. Selvaris' imposing weight in the Force lessened as they broke the atmosphere, the darkness that enshrouded the world loosening its grip on Tarus' mind. It wasn't much, but at least it brought a sense of peace.

"Flesh wounds will heal," his friend Elias Edo Elias Edo once said, "but those that afflict the heart are much harder to mend."

Never before were those words so true.

"Flattery-- will not work on me-- High Regent. The Maw never moves-- without a plan--"
Sularen smirked as the Jedi Master spoke. He spoke in the same semi-defiant tone as usual, displaying a type of determination, the High Regent respected. Even if there was no way to escape now, Sularen was certain he would try to find a way to escape his grasp even if his plan for the Jedi Master would end up being a success. Eventually as the Shuttle broke through the atmosphere, a large warship entered in view surrounded by a group of smaller warships. It was the High Regent's Flagship, the FDS Predator, a ship that had fought in countless battles, first against the Sith Empire and later the Galactic Alliance.

"To answer your question Master Undara, we're headed for my Flagship, the Predator. Where you will enjoy a more comfortable time within the confines of my Detention Block." Sularen said while maintaining his wicked smirk. He then leaned back into his chair and proceeded to continue. "Now that i answered your question, do tell me, how were you captured at Tython? It's quite rare for a Jedi Master to end up in the hands of the Maw these days, considering your friends in the New Jedi Order are always there for the rescue." the High Regent said.

As Sularen awaited the Jedi Master's response. The Shuttle began to make it's approach towards the Predator as a group of Final Dawn TIE Fighters arrived to provide some escort for the Shuttle as it closed in towards the Predator. Soon enough, Sularen would be able to enact his nefarious plans for Undara and perhaps learn a few more things about the Jedi Master and even the New Jedi Order in the process, things that could help him further advance his overall agenda.

'Comfortable time' and 'Detention Block' certainly sounded conflicting, but Tarus didn't argue. Without his lightsaber (and proper training with his freshly-alchemized arm), the fallen Jedi was less than useless in combat. His best bet now would be to keep his mouth closed and his eyes open, glean every bit of information he could on their flight to the Predator, and begin to scheme his escape plan the moment he was alone.

"Now that I answered your question, do tell me, how were you captured at Tython? It's quite rare for a Jedi Master to end up in the hands of the Maw these days, considering your friends in the New Jedi Order are always there for the rescue."

"I sacrificed myself," Tarus said coldly, perhaps even bitterly, as if the fact that he still lived somehow invalidated his decision to take a blade for his Padawan.

"I-- I died, trying to save--"

He took in a sharp breath, wincing as he got more worked up than his fragile state would allow. Part of him felt he should hide his Padawan's existence from the Lord Regent, but Tarus had a sneaking suspicion that Sularen already knew about Cailen. Still, the less he divulged about his former Padawan, the less the Maw had to work with when it came to torture.

A small blessing, in a dark place.

"Somehow," Tarus continued, purposefully glossing over Cailen, "the Witches brought me back-- kept me alive--"

He gestured to the deep gash on his chest, a disgusted grimace on his face. Tarus didn't know what they did to him, or why. All he knew for certain was that it was foul Dathomiri magicks that preserved his life. And he hated it with every fiber of his being.

After Sularen spoke, the imprisoned Jedi Master was quick to speak, responding to the High Regent in a sudden but cold and perhaps even bitter tone in a short emotional outburst. He mentioned a self-sacrifice, stating that he had died to save someone before stopping mid-sentence upon realizing his mistake. The mention that of dying to save somebody caused Sularen to raise an eyebrow, intrigued by this statement. But instead of responding the High Regent simply took note of this slip-up, preferring to return to that matter at a later date rather then try to taunt the Jedi Master about this sudden revelation.

After a short pause, Tarus continued to speak adding that the Witches had somehow managed to bring him back to life, which Sularen assumed eventually lead to his imprisonment and torture at their hands before Sularen's arrival. As he spoke he gestured to the large gash on his chest which at that moment, the High Regent realized that it was most likely a lightsaber wound inflicted upon the Jedi Master at Tython, perhaps the fatal blow that had killed him before his revival. Before Sularen could ask he was interrupted as the Pilots of the Shuttle made contact with the Predator via the comms.

"FDS Predator, this VIP Command Shuttle UP-7445, requesting permission to dock" the lead pilot said. "VIP Command Shuttle UP-7445, please transmit clearance codes" a communications officer from the bridge responded. "Transmitting codes" the second pilot said in response. After a few seconds, a response came from the Predator. "Shuttle UP-7445, permission granted. You are free to land in the Main Hangar Bay. Welcome back." the officer said. Soon enough, the Sith Infiltration Shuttle would soon come to rest within the main ventral hangars of the Predator, with the High Regent proceeding to stand up. "This is it, Master Undara. I hope you'll enjoy your stay on my ship, as we still have alot of matters to attend to." Sularen said with a smirk.

The Doors leading to the passenger compartment opened and the High Regent gestured for his prisoner to stand up and move ahead as the Elite Raptor Commandos inside the passenger section stood on guard as they wanted for both the High Regent and the Imprisoned Jedi Master to step out of the cockpit to escort them out of the Shuttle and into the High Regent's Flagship. Holding Tarus Undara on his flagship was a big risk as if even the slightest word about his imprisonment got out, Sularen was certain that the Jedi would most certainly attempt to free him, which could have alot of consequences both for him and it's crew. But as long as it worked to his advantage, it was a risk he was willing to take. After all the ends always justified the means.

Reluctantly, Tarus rose to his feet and stepped forward. The familiar metallic thudding of his boots against the Imperial ship reminded him of his days fighting the Empire, before the Maw drew away the Jedi's attention. It made him think of Elias Edo Elias Edo who continued to fight a shadow war against Imperial warlords across the Mid-Rim. He was a good man. Tarus hoped he fared well.

"Impressive ship," the Jedi patronized as they made their way to the detention block, though there was a sliver of truth in the statement. Comparative to the rest of the Maw's fleet, Sularen's vessel was far more advanced. It was indicative of the man he was before, sharp and tactile.

They must have offered him something he couldn't refuse to fall in with them.

Tarus remained quiet for much of the walk, only responding with vocal tones and head gestures as he observed the ship's corridors and stations. Filing away dozens of mental notes should the opportunity arise to make his escape. Logic told him it was futile to try, but the Jedi spirit within him refused to die as a prisoner - or worse, live on as a traitor.

Sularen, Tarus and their Escort of Raptor Commandos soon emerged from the Shuttle immediately making their way towards the Detention Block. As they walked through the hallways of the Predator, Tarus took note of the internal structure of the Warship and the many personnel who served on it. Unlike the traditional Mawite Warships, the ships of the Final Dawn Navy were designed to be Durable and possess overwhelming amount of firepower and enough hangar space for large quantities of starfighters to achieve starfighter superiority in battle. They were designed to win battles without the need for suicidal tactics.

"Impressive ship,"

"Thank you. This ship is nearly two decades old. Had it built when i first joined the New Imperial Order shortly after the Declaration of Defiance. A shame they kicked me out over some skirmish at Ord Mantell, i could have done wonders within the Empire as my service with the Maw has demonstrated." Sularen said in response. Given that Tarus had already told Sularen some bits of his past, Sularen figured that it wouldn't hurt if he gave him some information of his own past, perhaps it would be enough to facilitate his plans regarding the Jedi Master.

Eventually, they would arrive at the entrance of the detention block where the High Regent kept only the most valuable of prisoners. "Well. Here we are, the detention block." Sularen began. "I may not have any force abilities, but i do know what's going on in that little mind of yours, and i assure you once you get in my ship you don't get out unless i allow it. Since the last time a Jedi boarded my ship i've taken the time to reinforce it's internal defenses designed primarily to counter any boarding parties and unwanted visitors" Sularen finished, refering to the time Valery Noble Valery Noble and her then-padawan Iris Arani Iris Arani boarded his ship during the Battle of Adrathrope.

"Now, i think it's about time i showed you a special room, we call the Torture Chamber. I'm sure you'll like it" Sularen said. Before long, he along with Tarus and their escort would be on their way, walking through the Detention Block as they headed towards the Torture Chamber up ahead. Before he could move forth to interrogate the Jedi Master or begin his special Project regarding him, Sularen first needed to eliminate any sort of hope from the Jedi's mind, and the Torture Chambers would be the best way to begin such a process.
