The Why

Some of you may be wondering why I keep posting blogs about this 'Selectivism' thing. Or some of you may be more historically/politically inclined and know exactly what it's about. But I suppose I should explain myself, anyway, as there will be five more blog entries in the coming days and I don't want people to think I'm being annoying with my boring entries.

Context: Geneviève has clearly been against imperialism, nearly since I was inspired to write her. And over the course of her RPs, I have seen her become something of an illustration of Newton's Third Law (Paraphrasing - "Every action by one entity upon another triggers an equal and opposite reaction.") in a psychopolitical sense.

Plan: What I'm hoping is that I can inspire some RPs centered around a movement across the galaxy. What I mean is that I'd like to see individual characters or groups of characters within factions conglomerating to undermine the current governments with the goal of imposing Selectivism, much like the Communist Party popped up all over the world to carry out a subversive agenda. Basically, it would be cool to have something different and expand the bounds of warfare. A group of space Bolsheviks would be interesting indeed. Smuggling The Little Black Book into factions could also provide a little excitement.

I know most of you prefer ground-pounding battles over sneaking around and operating in guerrilla fashion. But for those of you who may like a little content and context to your wars, I'm hoping there will be a good response. This is not a faction (not yet, at least) but a plot.

Lastly: No, I am not a Communist, nor a Socialist of any sort. In fact, I hope that some flaws in these systems become evident as this plan is carried out. This is all IC.

Thank you

[ TL;DR - Do you want to cause Chaos and advance Selectivism (similar to Communism)? ]

For me, the saddest personal loss of the great crash a year ago was the thread where Jorus and a demagogue (whose ideology was pretty close to this one) had a knock-down drag-out debate for thousands and thousands of words. I love this stuff. This'll definitely get his attention.

That thread was awesome. It's a shame the wipe killed it. Such a fun read.

Ironically, way back when this version of Moira was first conceptualised, she was essentially supposed to be a Space Bolshevik terrorist. However, that got relegated to her backstory.

Can't we just turn all the people who aren't good enough into worker drones to produce products and start o make the rich and powerful and good at things even more rich, powerful and good at things?

But I am excited to see how this plays out, even if I'm going to try to run it over with tanks made of gold.

Or something.

Poke around the Black Book for a minute and you'll start picking up enough of a whiff of Ayn Rand to whet your appetite.

Whelp. Not like governments haven't been toppled before. I'll be looking out for this in the future.

Sounding a little defensive, there.

Yeah, I'm looking at a big purple blob on that PNG.
Well then......

While Saran's no politician, I can't think she'd support this. There's a reason governments like those exist. They work.

(Yeah, it may be a little naive, but so is Saran)
