As a martial art form created, developed and perfected over the centuries by an individual clan, Jair'kad is only something that can be seen in action, if not entirely understood. It can only be taught either from a young age, or through years and years of dedicated practice, study and live combat experience. Unfortunately, there is no manual for Jair'kad on which every technique has been codified, analysed and put to paper that can instruct any reader on how to become an expert in the Way of the Raptor. The skill, techniques and manoeuvres have been passed down between each generation of Vhijaric's warriors, and is entirely open to new innovations by its practitioners who, through their own innate understanding of both general melee combat and the skills of Jair'kad, may add to the martial art's already impressive legacy.
Simply put, Jair'kad is the use of either two Vhijaric beskade or one beskad and a pistol, in combination with sharp bursts of the Mando'ad's jetpack thrusters to aid them in close combat.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Clan Vhijaric was, for most of its history, known for the lethality of its warriors' skills with beskade. As the clan grew in size and renown, a year-long conflict with a species of flying insectoids necessitated the incorporation of jetpacks in close combat. The warriors of the clan were quickly forced to perfect these nascent Jair'kad techniques against opponents whose knowledge of winged combat was instinctual - those who did not, or could not, adapt did not survive to influence the early evolution of the bladecraft. First coined by Alor Rosahr Vhijaric centuries ago, Jair'kad has since been taught to all foundlings of the Vhijaric clan and has been developed further in line with new techniques devised for various foes as well as new possible thruster manoeuvres possible with the latest technologic iterations of jetpacks.

- Reception: To those who know of Jair'kad, it is very well respected and feared for its users' devastating melee skill. However, to some Mandalorians it is seen as an unnecessarily gaudy form of combat given its close combat techniques' heavy reliance on jetpack manoeuvres.

- Characteristic Equipment: Raptors are always found carrying either dual beskads or a beskad-blaster pistol combination, but these are merely the talons - the real mark of a raptor are the wings on which they fly. Their jetpack is as vital to the Jair'kad warrior as wings to a bird, the propulsion engines modified to produce an ear-piercing screech like that of a bird of prey.
- Notable Limitations: Obviously, a bird with its wings clipped would be next to useless. A Raptor would fare a little better should they be separated from their jetpack for whatever reason, as they are still very capable swordsmen and warriors, but most of their offensive ability would vanish leaving them
