GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Group Name: The Voss Mystics
  • Classification: Religious Order
  • Headquarters: Voss
  • Loyalties: The Sith Empire
  • Group Sigil: The Mystic symbol is a vast network of blue latticework surrounding a golden sunburst at its center. There are multiple interpretations of what the symbol means, though the two most popular are that either the symbol represents the shining knowledge that can be gleaned through divining the future or that the sun represents the iris of a great eye looking through the labyrinth of the future.

[*]Description: The Voss Mystics are an ancient covenant of Force-sensitive Voss who have ruled the planet of Voss for thousands upon thousands of years. Made up of powerful and gifted seers and healers, the Mystics used their deep connection with the Force to guide the Voss people into multiple eras of prosperity and defend their homeworld from foreign interference. Though mostly considered 'grey' Force users by the Jedi and the Sith, several members of the Mystics have gone on to lean heavily into the Light or the Dark Side over the course of their existence.

Since the arrival of the Sith Empire, most (if not all) of the Mystics' leadership had been removed and replaced with Voss who had proven proficient in the Dark Side of the Force. Led by the Sith Emperor's personal oracle, Tammuz-Ra, these Grand Mystics fully gave themselves over to the Dark Side and the Sith creed. While not true Sith, they are ardent supporters of their teachings and have vowed to indoctrinate other Mystics and spread their ideas to the rest of the Voss.

SOCIAL INFORMATION
  • Hierarchy:
Grand Mystic - A newly established position among the Voss Mystics, primarily created to establish a clear line of hierarchy under the Imperial purview. At any given time there would be five Grand Mystics, who carry out the will of the Emperor upon the Voss people and are charged with spreading the teachings of the Rule of Order among the Mystics and the Voss people.
  • Interpreters - Charged with discerning the meaning behind the visions experienced by the Mystics, the Interpreters are crucial to Voss society as a whole. Their ability to decipher the infallible visions allowed the now defunct Three to make policy decisions based upon their results, though now that duty has been given to the Grand Mystics under Imperial oversight.
  • Mystic - The entirety of the Voss Mystics who do not belong to the elite council established by the Empire or to the hallowed Interpreters are part of this group. Most of them had been part of the Mystics since long before the Jedi or the Sith had taken control of their world, and while the majority of them continue to resist or ignore the Sith teachings of the Grand Mystics, some have given into the promise of power.

[*]Membership: Only Voss can be Mystics, and among them, only those truly gifted with a powerful connection to the Force may undergo the trials and tribulations necessary to weed out the weak from the strong. However, there have been certain exceptions since the Empire has taken over their homeworld, with individual Sith inducted as honorary Mystics.
[*]Dogma/Doctrines:
  • No Mystic may voluntarily leave the order upon punishment of death
  • Any and all Force visions must be revealed and discussed with the Grand Mystic Council
  • Likewise, should a Mystic reveal a Force vision to an individual not of the Mystic Council or an authorized delegate of the Sith Emperor without the permission of the Council, then they shall be summarily executed as a traitor to the Empire
  • Veneration of the Light Side of the Force is strictly forbidden

[*]Curios:
  • Pearl White Mask
  • Black, Gold, and Red Religious Habit
  • Dark Side Relics that enhance Force Sight

[*]Goals:
  • Divine the future for the Sith Emperor
  • Control and manipulate the Voss people

MEMBERS
  • Tammuz-Ra [Grand Mystic]
  • [member="Adrian Vandiir"] [Honorary Mystic]
HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Long ago, after the tumultuous war that led to the formation of the clear division between the original Gormak species and the derivative Voss, the latter established a grand city upon the highest peak and began to experiment in the practice of soothsaying and started to experience prophetic visions of practical infallibility. Those Voss that had the strongest connection to the Force, and therefore experienced the most potent Force visions, banded together to form the Voss Mystics.

These Mystics' visions became so integral to Voss society that they eventually determined how the Voss would govern themselves for millennia. The visions of the Mystics was as iron-clad as any written code of law, and the Voss dogmatically followed each vision no matter how horrible the outcome.

While the majority of the Voss Mystics followed a non-binary interpretation of the Force, there were some who deviated into what the wider galaxy knew as the Light Side and the Dark Side of the Force. Though few and far between, these individuals would grow to help influence the fate of the galaxy. The most infamous Dark Sided Voss was the unknown individual who became the Dark Lord of the One Sith and plunged the galaxy into a decade of war that left the Core Worlds ravaged and in ruin.

Through the knowledge of this Dark Lord's power of prophecy the Sith Lord Darth Vornskr yearned to harness such innate power for himself, and after the Dark Lord's death at his and [member="Darth Ophidia"]'s hands, he quickly made his move to imprison the Dark Lord's Voss attendees. The strongest of which was a man named Tammuz-Ra, who Vornskr made his personal oracle after convincing him to pledge his service.

The moniker of Vornskr was eventually abandoned in favor of Carnifex, but the quest for prophecy still continued. The Voss homeworld was currently being occupied by the Silver Jedi Order and was considered their capital. In order to procure the Voss Mystics for his own villainous schemes, Carnifex knew he had to break the Silver Jedi's power over their world. Such machinations would come to fruition after the formation of the New Sith Empire and the subsequent wars of conquest to expand across the Tingel Arm.

When the Silver Jedi left Voss to relocate to Kashyyyk, they left Voss vulnerable to Sith influences. The Sith Empire launched several campaigns to cut off Voss' trade routes and allies, and then encircled the planet like a noose. A fierce battle broke out between the League of Voss, a rag-tag group of former Silver Jedi who refused to follow their comrades to Kashyyyk, and the Empire, resulting in the planet being invaded and the Voss' own prophetic powers turned against them.

By the end of the conflict, the Voss had been subdued and their leaders supplanted by Tammuz-Ra and other like-minded Voss who viewed the Dark Side as the only possible path forward. Tammuz-Ra and four others were granted the title of Grand Mystic and were charged with containing any Force visions and subjecting them to Imperial scrutiny, and, if necessary, censorship.
