The Value Of Life (Loreena Arenais)

Veiere simply chuckled under his breath, for [member="Loreena Arenais"] would soon come to realize the amount of security within the facility ahead was considerably higher than that of the Palace itself. In the event of an invasion, all government intelligence would be purged to this sector of Commenor, where they would fight to maintain it as long as they could until defeat was certain and then have it all eradicated before the enemy could profit from their knowledge and financial holdings, personnel records and spy networks further out among the worlds and governments of both friend and foe. "Come along then" he said as they began to disembark from the KingsGuard and move out into the open air, soon to be greeted by a pair of Troopers baring the insignia of the 191st Battalion, they both flanking the sides of an Intelligence officer who had been instructed to greet them and escort the two on into the facility.

Upon entering the foyer, the thin uniformed man raised a hand and turned to the pair of them, offering a respectable nod of his head and gesturing to the security station they'd walked in on. "If your majesties would please turn in any weapons or items of potential misconduct, we will proceed with the tour" he had a way with words, asking a question and yet still somehow making it sound like an order, as though they had no choice in the matter. Looking to Lori, Veiere nodded encouragingly before removing his lightsabers from his belt and turning them both in for temporary holding.

Again Lori almost skipped as she carried a bounce in her step while she walked along beside [member="Veiere Arenais"] to exit the Kingsguard. Oh this was going to be so awesome! It could be the only time that she'd ever get a tour of the place, maybe evenher only time inside of it! So of course she was going to soak in every minute and every detail.

She bowed her head to the officer before raising a brow at the request for their weapons. But they weren't the enemy. Why would they want their weapons handed over? It didn't really make much sense....

But after her Dad handed over his lightsabers, Lori unholstered her blaster, as well as a dagger from her boot. "You're not taking my sarcastic wit though." She smiled, gaging how much of a sense of humour people had around here.

"Worry not, Princess Arenais. This is simply a matter of policy" the Intelligence Officer explained before gesturing for the pair of them to follow. Both Veiere and [member="Loreena Arenais"] would find themselves stepping first between a series of metal and miscellaneous alloy detection barriers meant to scan and detect illicit items or weapons of harm upon their person. The lack of an alarm signaled the all clear and the Officer then proceeded to the lift at the end of the corridor.

"As you can see, there are several hundred levels to this facility, most that extend far below to the underground research and development facility. I'm afraid however that this area will not be part of the visit for the sake of national security". Veiere Arenais wasn't surprised in the least, though his daughter may be a bit disappointed as the Officer spoke to them. Honestly, the fact that they were being given a tour was something in itself, a feat that Lori was lucky to be part of.

"I've explained to my Daughter here, why we had this facility established in the first place. Would you be so kind as to show us the security control room for the Rachuk sector?" Veiere asked, knowing just how well they had the orbit and outer sector of space under their ever watching gaze.

"We certainly can, my King" the Officer replied with a polite smile, moving to press the designated floor level for Orbital control.

Lori's eyes were wide as she took in everything. Moreso out of curiosity than anything else. Because who wouldn't be excited about exploring such a facility?!

"Oooo...research and developm---awww." She snapped her fingers as she was just informed that she couldn't see that section. What a pity. She'd of loved to have seen what they had.

However [member="Veiere Arenais"] lifted her spirits with the idea of getting to set foot in the security control center. "Oh yes please." She clasped her hands behind her back, in a bid to keep herself from fidgeting. Every few seconds, she'd rock back and forth on her heels. "How many people work here?"
